  1. The RSV with a Hannigan conversion is an excellent combo. Cruisers can't keep up if I don't want them to. I do miss laying it over in the curves tho.
  2. Why listen to them thar Yankee rodents when we have Gen. Beauregard Lee, the Georgia version of that one in Pa. He predicted an early spring. Been pretty mild down in Ga. anyway.
  3. Congratulations on your pending retirement. Every day has been Saturday since January 30th for me and I'm loving every minute of it.
  4. I think it's funny you think your going to sleep till nine every morning. the last 15 years I worked I had to get up at 3 AM. I retired Feb 1 of this year and still wake up at 3 AM EVERY day. The good thing is I get to roll over and snuggle up with Shirley and go back to sleep..............or not.. Regardless, I'm out of bed by 7 AM everyday. I get to enjoy my coffee instead of gulping it down then do whatever I please. I got used to retirement the very first day and recommend it to anyone who has the means to do so. Tomorrow is not guaranteed to any of us. Make the most of what you have. Congratulations and thanks for your years of service.
  5. Brian At BD's Cycles is the best I know of. Darn nice guy too. http://www.bdscycles.com/Home.html
  6. I don't know anything about straight axles but can tell you the Hannigan IRS is excellent. If I'm in the mood to hammer on it cruisers simply cant keep up. It's a 3 wheeled sports car. I know your fighting the need to move over to a trike and understand. I was faced with the choice of going to a trike or leaving Shirley at home when I rode. Well that was a easy choice because if Shirley ain't going, I don't want to go either. I miss laying over in a curve and grinding some pegs and so does Shirley. But when the choice is riding on three or not at all the choice was easy for me. If you want to talk trikes give me a call or PM. Everything you want to know about trikes is at triketalk.com
  7. Yep, those are Corbin beetle bags. They run around $2,000 if memory serves. One problem with them is you cant use any other mfr sissy bar. Another is they make the bike look like a Vespa IMO. And they are made by Corbin, possibly the worst cust service known to man..
  8. Congratulations!!! I retired Feb 1st of this year and haven't missed work for a minute. In fact, I wonder how I ever worked in in. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I am mine.
  9. This is the trip we've been looking forward to all year. Shirley hasn't even thought about a glass of wine in 3 days so you KNOW she's not feeling very good.
  10. Doesn't look like it. Got our business wrapped up but now we're both sick.
  11. Y'all are killing us!
  12. We're good. Just some unexpected business. We may make it up for a day or two. We just can't commit. The vertigo is coming and going.
  13. We we're so looking forward to this but we need to cancel. We may still make it up for a day but not sure at this point.
  14. I see only 1 helmet packed in the trailer. Don't forget the other.
  15. It's been 2 years since mine have been synced. Pretty sure it could use it again.
  16. Driving the cage can be a challenge on some of the more sever episodes. I hope I never have one while on the bike.
  17. I have a hearing aid for both ears. They have no effect on my vertigo as far as I can tell.
  18. I've done that a few times. I make sure I have a hold of something until I'm stable.
  19. Blood sugar is good. BP is under controll. Been on the same meds for years. Minor events started before I was on meds. Thanks for the suggestions. Jack has caused (dizziness) in the past. I now get the same feelings for free and dont have to worry about breathalyzers. Doc confirmed it's an issue with the inner ear. Getting out of bed can be a real test. I have fallen back in bed a number of times. Missed it a few.
  20. Thanks Steve. The doc explained the crystals to me. They are always there. It's when they break loose from where they belong and get into the tubes that causes the problem. I said to the doc. So, your telling me I've got rocks in my head and he says "you caught that huh" LOL
  21. I've had brief episodes of vertigo in the past but a few weeks ago I started having frequent and prolonged episodes. I went to the doctor and he gave me some exercises and recommended I take Meclizine. I bought the Meclizine and took the recommended dosage and it seemed to help some. I then read the precautions. It seems one suffering from glaucoma shouldn't take this drug. Well, I'd rather be dizzy than blind so I won't be taking any more of those. Does anybody else here have vertigo? What works for you?
  22. The heat has put a real damper on our riding too. Shirley doesn't take heat real well in the first place and all these back to back to back 95 degree 75% to 90% humidity days has me volunteering to take the truck instead. It's just too danged hot.
  23. My wife carries a water bottle with a sprayer on it in her cup holder, I carry the drinking water in mine. This has been working great for many years.
  24. Same set up on my trike with almost identical mileage and wear.
  25. You should see their large bags.
