That's the same model I was looking at back in 2012 for my future retirement vehicle BUT price without any options put a stop on it( mostly Phantom Wife had me going on getting it) so bit the bullet and gladly bought my 2012 Venture!! (don't regret one bit) But again Congrats on your purchase!!!

Great job... wish I had that talent.! Better at welding as if I screw up I can add to it or re-weld but can't if using wood.
-
Glad you enjoyed your trip! Seems there are getting to be way too much accidents, idiots and construction these past years! Probably won't get any better!!
-
Agree with everything everyone has said in the replies!!!!!

@Woody don't know about water proofing but I just got used to using leather protecting cream and my covers as it might be a conflict that might get sticky or counteract between the 2 chemicals. My covers were very easy to put on and take off also to ride with them on. Since they were so comfortable for me I just kept using them.Personal choice I guess!

@uncledj Should be "" A man and his truck and bike.....it's a beautiful thing''''

@Woody had those covers when I was still working and rode a 2000 Road Star(rain or shine)! Had an Ultimate seat(I think that is the name) Had to carry the covers in saddle bags as seat was not waterproof! Put up with the covers as it was very comfortable.

Did a cigarette run today for the wife with a 30% chance of rain. Drove about 45klm there then stopped of at Princes Auto to pick up a few things with no sight of rain in clouds. Came out after spending $70 and it had poured when i was inside! Wiped seat off and headed to visit @Marcarl and Marca since I was in the area(dark clouds every where) Visited with Marca as I had missed @Marcarl(out doing things she said) Poured for about 10min while we were talking then she went in to finish what she was doing. Clouds didn't look too good but had to get home and missed every bit of rain all the way. Looking forward to @XV1100SE's get together in August.

Went Yard Sailing on Saturday but didn't buy anything but got a lot of interest and comments on my bike and trailer. Then Sunday went uptown to see all the cars and trucks displayed for the 3 day city street fest. Must have been over 100 vehicles . Then went for 75klm ride to get bulk peanuts and raisins plus just for something to do! Got home and noticed plate light wasn't working so worked on wiring so if son wants to us it when he goes camping end of August he will have something to put all his stuff in. He wanted to take my Time-out camper but Phantom Wife and I are going to use it in Port Elgin at my nieces property as her son got married a-bit ago and were invited to a get-together to celebrate and camp for a few days

Was around 29 when Phantom Wife and I were married after being together for 7 years before. Coming up on 40 years this Oct 8th. Just liked discussed it is up to the individuals whether things work or not and circumstances I too had a niece who said we wouldn't last 6 months and mother-in-law who really didn't like me much as wife deceived her telling her my wrong age(her dad had an idea as he worked with my dad but we got along well! )and also I rode a motorbike ( don't know why as her younger sister started going with a guy who also rode a bike but he could do no wrong) One reason I thought this is when we were going to get married there was no help from them and had to sell bike to get married and took 13 years too get another bike! BUT wouldn't change anything!

Same reply as @Woody about 4 letter word! As for ride only been doing leisure ride also as with temperature being very hot and then turning to showers to thunder storms just like last night. Went to help son to replace door panel on customized car he was loaned but it ended up he had no time. So I went for ride but after a half hour it started with big drops on windshield to BIGGER drops then light rain till complete down pore about 4 miles from home. Didn't get soaked but made it home and wiped down bike and trailer.. Looking forward to next good ride on the 5th or 12th of August when we meet up in Paris Ontario Canada again for our Ontario meet put on by @XV1100SE! Hoping for bigger turnout than last time! We did meet a potential future member (2013 Royal Star) (ride name Pig Speed) tho so was worth trip

Thank you!! I guess that was why I was BANNED here? Seems to be OK now!! One reason I am proud to be part of this group!

Hopefully it was bad aim as he could have done more damage if he hit your windshield!!!

Welcome to site!

Have you checked with dealer or web site for Progressive(if they are still available)? I have an 87 with springs in it but still haven't decided what I'm doing with it. Had bumping accident back in 08 ,bought back with intention of putting back on road when I retired.. Was NOT written off ! Put up for sale a few years ago to get back what I bought it back for($600) might be convinced to change mind as can't really afford to rebuild now I think! As stated in Ontario get together by @XV1100SE would be a great way to get to know some of us! Or maybe some Saturday would be better!
