  1. Wow, now that's a thought! I think I'll start with the V-Star 1300.
  2. She's on Larry King right now!
  3. The V-Star 1300T(touring) is really a neat bike. Yamaha did a great job when they developed it. I had read all the reviews before I bought it. I agonized over buying the RSTD, because even my wife said they look alike (both are silver and are the "S" model), but the 1300's a good 125# lighter and and is very noticeable when stopped. If I'd known she wasn't going to ride the bike I'd have gotten the Venture, but such goes life.
  4. I thought my wife was going to take the course and ride the bike-but no way hosay. Can't ride two bikes (at least not at the same time). Need to sell my 2007 V-Star 1300 tourer. Has about everything including cruise control. Only 4700 miles and looks like new. Will take $8400 or for $400 more will add a Mustang seat with backrest (everyone knows what those things sell for). If anyone knows someone that might be interested, just send me an email.
  5. I would do what the dealer just did on my new RSTD. After all papers were signed and money in hand, he let me have a 5 mile test ride. If I didn't like the bike, the papers would be torn up and cash returned. If I liked the bike, then the 5 turned into 150 and the bike was mine. PS: I had insured it before the ride.
  6. I've checked his site and I think He makes them the same size as OEM. I'm thinking that larger ones would improve buffeting.
  7. I've noticed some wind buffeting on my RSTD that I don't have on my 07 V-Star 1300T. I installed Buck's lowers on my 1300 and the buffeting was noticeable less. The 1300's windshield is about 2" taller so cutting the windshield shouldn't help the buffeting, but Buck's lowers are considerably wider and longer than the stock RSTDs. Has anyone experimented with their lowers or done anything to improve the buffeting? The RSTD is not all that bad but after putting the lowers on the 1300 I am spoiled. Thanks for any comments!
  8. That's what I want to do. After the adjustment I'll see if that helps my "neutral" problem. I'll be careful about the left handed nut. Thanks!
  9. Is it possible to adjust the angle of the shifter? I need the toe lower and the heel higher. I see an adjustment screw (?) just forward of the pivot point. Bike is new and have had some problems going in 1st past neutral when downshifting to a stop. I have also had an incident when shifting up using the heel shifter. The neutral problem makes me move the clutch handle out to help shift down to 1st (not a good feeling when sitting at a stop light). Any suggestions? Thanks!
