  1. That will definitely give you issues, I'm glad to hear that you found it. Now the bike should stay synced right, run a few tanks and let us know how it turns out
  2. After it has gone the length of days that you initially put it up for, it will automatically put it as sold. You should have gotten a reminder in your email that it was about to expire so that you c an go back and relist it if it's still for sale.
  3. Nice work Buddy, Yamaha has screwed the pooch with many of us by not offering us what we want. I would have bought the exact same thing as I love the looks of the Road Glide. One day if I ever make some money, I will more than likely have one in the stable. I'm looking forward to seeing it at some point....good job
  4. Marcarl perhaps?
  5. Happy Birthday Jonas!!!!
  6. If they did that, they wouldn't talk with any of us....HELLO!
  7. Looking good Andy, that trailer will give you many years of service I have no doubt....nice finger in the pic too
  8. I certainly didn't expect to see this when I logged on today, a loss for words is an understatement. I guess for me, this place is....a labor of love. Just as it is for Freebird and countless others that make this site what it is. I wont argue what has been decided, as I can't take you all on at once I think in my older age I'm listening to some of my elders more. There are many that have taught me to accept gifts gracefully, even though that can be difficult for me due to pride issues I still have. To say that I would love to have the trailer is an understatement. One of my last memories of Gunboat is he and I spending an entire Saturday together working on it. That is a very cherished memory and the trailer is just as special as that day. I appreciate all of my brothers and sisters here, and your generosity with being ok with me having Don's trailer. I wont get all mushy and tell y'all how much I love you folks....but I do. This place has helped Lonna and I through some very hard times in our lives. Y'all are what makes this place special, I am just but 1 cog in it. Thank you all for thinking enough of me to even consider this, I am the richest man in the world because of you folks here. You are the family I choose to have Very Humbly Squidley
  9. Whoopsie! Glad that I was able to help you out my friend, just be careful heading back home and let me know when you arrive. Great seeing you again this weekend
  10. Jack, Is this a contest between you and Yammer Dan on who can have the most bikes in the garage but only ride 1 at a time?
  11. Your rear master cylinder and reservoir are full of crud from the brake fluid breaking down. Your going to have to tear all of it down, clean out all the crud inside and make sure the return orifice is clean. What is happening is that the fluid is expanding when it gets hot, it's in a lousy spot on the bike. The return orifice is plugged and wont allow the expanding fluid to freely flow back up into the reservoir. The pressure has to go somewhere and thats the caliper, so it locks up. Very common on bikes that have sat for a while and not had their fluids changed often enough. Give a call if you have questions, I can walk you through it.
  12. You were there in spirit my friend, as well as many others from our site
  13. With a heavy heart, we said goodbye to Gunboat yesterday. Some parts sad, but many parts joyous. Had a good showing of people, I didn't get a head count, but I'd say somewhere between 75 and 100 folks. About 25 of the VRO group were able to make it, and many more I know that wanted to, but just couldn't swing it. Some very nice appearances like Ponch and Cathy attended and it was great to be able to chat with them a bit. I wasn't as much a wreck as I thought I was going to be, the eulogy went well as I only cracked 2 or 3 times, I was a lot worse Friday reading it to Lonna and Heather. I also want to thank Dana Braquet (Sgt. Maj.) for helping me. I needed a rock to draw from, and he was there just like I knew he would be. He lead the prayer before we ate, and as always was very eloquent with how he speaks ( I want to be just like him when I grow up ) Thank you to all that made a dish, there was TONS of food and all of it was fantastic. Santa Hal rocked the smoker (what a balls out deal that is) and he's as good a cook as he is Santa. It was great being able to spend time with y'all and Don's family. I know that Cathy, Don's girlfriend, was pleased with how it went. There were even a few surprises that I didn't know about until Lonna and Heather sprang it on a few of us. I ended up getting one of Don's Navy hats, actually the ship he served on, The USS Harlan County LST 1196 of which he was a plank owner, I was very happy with that. I will do some embroidering of my own (without the help of Kregerdoodle) and have Gunboat put on the back of it. There was a changing of the guard as well, the official Blue Bell Ice Cream cooler was presented to our one and only Kregerdoodle. Kreg is now the Official Houston Crew's Blue Bell Ice Cream guy. This is a great responsibility and if he neglects his duties he will be beaten severely with wet noodles (that sounds like fun!) Monkey Boy (Dave Pankow) was also very close with Don. Gunboat won a beautiful quilt last year at the international up in New York. Cathy (Don's girlfriend) wanted Dave to have this and it was presented as well, along with a few tears A good day all in all, sad circumstances, but a celebration of a life that touched so many others. Thank you all for sharing your day with us, the folks that drove many miles to be in Cleveland Texas. There were pictures taken and we'll work at getting some of them up on the site.
  14. How has the trailer pulled for you Annie?
  15. Don's idea was to put state placarts on the front of the trailer, here are the 2 that he put on before we shipped it off. Decals are cool too, I'd love to see it look like an old leather suitcase with all sorts on it
  16. Jim, I have a left side saddle bag lid, it's purple off a '99. If your interested PM me and we'll chat.
  17. Which stator are you going to buy Pat?
  18. How far apart do you have it?
  19. If you have a bicycle tire pump, thats what I would use. The 12 volt may work, but I would hate to chance blowing the seal in the shock.
  20. Depends upon what kind of ride you want. At 230 lbs a softer ride would be 25 to 30 lbs in the rear shock. 30 to 45 lbs more firm and the max on the rear pressure is 55lbs. Try some different pressures, make sure if you dont have a hand pump, like a progressive, that you get one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PROGRESSIVE-MOTORCYCLE-BIKE-HAND-AIR-SHOCK-PUMP-FOR-HARLEY-METRIC-UNIV-070660-/140931352516?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20d029c7c4&vxp=mtr Dont use your air compressor to inflate the shock, you could blow the seal out of it.
  21. Morgan Carbtune, have had one for better than 7 years and have synced hundreds of bikes with it
  22. Larry is an outstanding guy, I have been friends with him for going on 10 years. He has always gone the extra mile and has helped countless members here on the site. Glad he could hook you up
  23. Thank you Carl, I personally appreciate your thoughts, I'll need all the help I can get delivering the euolgy....God Bless you my friend
  24. Great Pics, glad to see y'all are having a good time
  25. I'll bet Jack ticked him off
