1. It's like a man's dream coming true. Enjoy!
2. I already posted about my first bike but Mike's post reminds me of something I might add. I started riding it before I turned 16 and was able to get my licence. On one run, I saw a police cruiser coming my way. Made a quick decision to pull into a driveway, got off the bike and walked into the house (back then, doors were mostly left unlocked) . Fortunately, the cruiser passed by and I was able to back out of the house before I was noticed by anyone inside, which was lucky for me as I didn't know anyone who lived there. I did get my licence the day I turned 16.
3. Enjoy your ride Rick before your surgery. It sounds like a great ride. Hope you are good to go in the spring!
4. Sure looks good Bob. Nice work and I know Becky will be happy that the job is done.
5. Started on a 50cc scooter sold by Sears back in 1963. Was horse crazy at the time and got the scooter which I quickly upgraded to a Honda 90 to get to the riding stable where I hung out and worked. It was a 12 mile run which I got to by bicycle each day till I turned 16 and bought the scooter and then the Honda 90. Went on to a Honda 305 Dream and also owned a 650 Triumph during my school years. Have never been without at least one bike since then.

8. So good to hear that your enthusiasm has returned Jeff and your bike is also ready to go. Wish you many good miles.
9. Good luck In finding and fixing your problem Wayne. While I won't even pretend to be able to help you, I am reminded of a problem that I had many years ago with my KZ 650. It took over a year to finally find the problem after going to several shops. None of their mechanics could figure out the problem. Turned out that one of my coils that tested good was breaking down under certain load conditions.
10. I recently bought some stuff for mixing with gas that has ethanol in it. A guy at a bike shop recommended it while on our Venture East trip that included the Cabot Trail. Interested in thoughts from others about using this stuff in our Ventures.
11. Just saying: there may be two problems here, one being the salesman and the other being the neighbour. I remember watching a customer assure a salesman that he could ride and when finally allowed to test ride a bike, he went down before he made it out of the parking lot. 13. - pushed send too soon. Wanted to add that I like the features that Condor mentions so much that I am thinking of searching for another one.
14. Like mine which I bought from Mother who got if off ebay about 5 years ago

friday 13

Unlikely for me this time.
16. So sorry Wayne to hear about your father. As you know, I am looking forward to seeing some, if not all of the 3000 pictures from your trip. Also, it looks like I may be joining Anne on a trip to Bobcageon on Thursday to see some of her family, so I likely will not be able to join you guys if your trip to Bongobob's is still on.
17. WOW - 10 1/2 hrs - for a 2 1/2 hour run. I feel for you Phil but from bring there on Sat myself. I also understand why you say it was still worth it.
18. Yes, we did check there. PS. Our Venture East trip through Eastern Canada this summer was fabulous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
19. I used Plastex (Plastafix) for a similar repair as Joe needs and it sure worked good for me. Can't comment on how it compares to the other suggestions.
20. Thanks guys. When at MarCarl's, we checked the joints and as much of the line as possible with soapy water, and saw nothing. My compressor works fine, but I loose air pressure within several minutes. This will probably be a fall or spring project if I were to have a replacement line.
21. Don't want to interfere with Ground Hugger getting what he needs. However, this thread reminded me that I have a leak in the air line to my front shocks that we can't find on my 88. Because of that, I changed to progressive springs. However, I would still like to solve the leak problem and we tested all joints so we believe it is the line. If by chance Ground Hugger can get what he needs and another line is available, I would appreciate a PM.
22. Same here Brian. Glad your are home safe after a great ride. Too bad you had camera problems at Jasper.
23. I have a fairly light sheepskin and two of these gell pads. For me, what works best (with my standard 1st gen seat) is to trim the sides of the front (driver) pad and put the sheepskin over both pads (rider and passenger). We did this on our 8000 mile Venture West trip and it worked best for us.
24. Something strange with your 1st gen experience. I have not had the same experience, but can't compare to 2nd gen.
