  1. Maybe you've already tried these tips: 1) Make sure you're pushing and holding the on button for a least a couple of seconds. 2) When doing a reset, you need to hold the reset button in for at least 20 seconds. 3) Pull the SD card out and do another 20 second reset. Good luck...hope it's not dead. David
  2. Nah, it was even stupider than that.....got my screws mixed up.
  3. Yep....just got the grips today and everything is so much clearer now. I didn't realize the new grip would come with a throttle tube. Thanks for the advice, David
  4. Thanks guys! Prolly saved me some damaged nuts (gawd that hurts!). David
  5. 09 RSV.....I have a pair of Kuryakan grips ordered and want to make sure I understand how to install them. I've installed the Kuryakan grips on a different bike in the past and it was pretty easy. After reading some posts about installing them on an RSV, some folks refer to separating the throttle switch housing and removing the cables. I don't understand why this is necessary? Don't the new 6235 Kuryakan grips just slide on over the throttle's plastic sleeve? Thanks.....David
  6. 09 RSV.....need to remove the righthand side mirror but afraid to put too much force on the nuts at the brake reservoir for fear of damaging something. It looks like there's three nuts at the bottom of the mirror stem. Can someone tell me which way the nut(s) need to be turned to remove the mirror bracket off the reservoir? Thanks....David
  7. Will late model Road King mufflers work ok? Any difference in sound with the Cats? I'm looking at a pair of mufflers now that the owner says are for a Road King HARFLT. He says they're '07s without the catalyst. Did HD make 07s without the catalyst or would they have been modded already? Would this work with my 09 RSV? Thanks again!
  8. BluesLover....thanks for the info! I can usually do what needs to be done, but it usually takes me a lot longer because I don't know what I'm doing. ha. So the brackets that come with RK will work on the RSV? I saw where somebody did some grinding and cutting to get their brackets on, but I'd really rather not do that if I don't have to. David
  9. Hilliss.....thanks for the info, that will really help. I just noticed that Squidly was making brackets and that you may being doing it now? If I find a set of RK mufflers can I buy some brackets from you? Thanks, David
  10. I'm a new 2009 RSV owner and I'm ready to switch out my stock mufflers for the RKs. I've read as much as I can find on here about doing this but I'm unclear on a couple of things. I'm really looking for the easiest way to do this.... If I go to the local HD dealer and ask if they have any stock RK mufflers, is there a particular type I should ask for? What about brackets? Can these be purchased or do I have to grind and cut? What exactly do I need to do this job? Thanks for your help, David
  11. WOW! You guys are great! Can't believe I got the answers I needed so quickly. Thank you, thank you! David
  12. First, let me introduce myself....I just purchased a 2009 RSV and have only had it a week. Enjoying it so far.... I've ordered a number of add-ons so I'll probably be looking here for help. I searched and couldn't find an exact explanation of how to remove the front fairing (without damaging anything!). I would assume I need to remove the bolt under the headlight, and the three hex bolts on each side, but I don't know what to do next? I just don't want to break plastic tabs or crack anything. How do I remove the chrome around the headlight and the chrome piece below the windshield? Any specific instructions would be so helpful. Thank you and look forward to meeting some of you! David
