  1. I thought we were going to get a lot of snow ❄️ a couple of days ago, but it totally missed my area. Virginia, D.C. and south of Baltimore got the brunt of the storm. Now I am waiting for the rain clouds to come, because the snow crew dropped lots of rock salt along my route but the snow never came. 😟. It might be looking good next week.
  2. About half an inch of snow is expected to arrive early Monday morning, but only up to half an inch. Hoping for less and I hope the snow crew doesn’t go crazy on the salt. That is the bad news. Towards the end of the week is looking a little better. Looking forward to at least log in my first ride of 2022 soon.
  3. I think it is fair to say, you have until Jan 15 to make changes to your New Years Resolution - if you have one. After that date, it is normal as usual. 😇
  4. I also want to announce my unrealistic New Years resolution. Work more and spend less. 😃
  5. I have several, I guess. Ride more this year is top of my list.
  6. My ‘07 RSV happened to be my first choice and I am very glad to remain the first and only owner of this fine machine. The V4 sold me.
  7. Welcome to the forum, Russ. Feel free to ask anything about your bike and someone will have the answer for you. Your bike is looking good!
  8. We had a few flurries yesterday and then off and on rain for the the next 3 days. ❄️😟. I am hoping the weather will improve. For the meantime, RSV and SVTC will need to be plugged in. 😉 IMG_0152.MOV
  9. I also have the RAM mount for my gps mounted on the right side of the RSV. It is ok either way, left or right as long as you remember not to tinker with it while on the move. For safety, I always stop and make changes or updates on my gps.
  10. Christmas is not over yet. 😃🙏 This showed up in my front door. I can install this on my truck once the weather improves. Enjoy the holidays until we welcome the New Year.
  11. Merry Christmas to All!
  12. Be safe out there @sleepy2, when you get the chance to ride especially now that we are already in the midst of the Holiday Season. Stay vigilant at all times. Ride safe.
  13. Rode the SVTC to and from work at 32° - the heat came in handy and it was a very nice ride for a 50 mile round trip. It gets dark really fast in the afternoon and some drivers just don't know how to pay attention to traffic. A car simply cut in front of me from the left intersection and thankfully I recognized her that she was going to go so I had to hit my brakes stronger than normal. It was a close call, but accident averted. Be careful out there and enjoy the ride.
  14. @sleepy2 We all know...Happy Wife = Happy Life.
  15. This reminds me to sweep all the leaves that made it inside the garage. I hate opening my garage door on a windy day.
  16. Strong winds coming our way by Saturday and most of the NE area, but temps will be close to the 60°. Not riding at all tomorrow to be on the safe side, but more riding next week even if it has to be to and from work.
  17. Extreme heat and extreme cold can take a toll especially when you are stuck in traffic. That would be one of my worst nightmare. However, getting stuck in traffic on cold weather beats getting stuck in traffic on a very hot day… at least IMO. Today is a cold day, so I think I’ll take the truck instead. In 2 days, we will be back to 60° temp - what a huge swing in temperature. Ride Safe all
  18. My tolerance to cold has decreased little by little over time. I still have vivid memories of my fingers freezing up…soooo painful and I don’t want to go through that kind of feeling anymore. Unfortunately, this happened on my old Kawasaki a few decades ago with just a small windshield to protect me. Chaps is a must have for cold riding. Always ride, when you get the chance.
  19. True. That is one reason why I don’t like the RSV sitting too long in the garage. This bike is meant to run all year long. 😀. 🏍
  20. After fine tuning my heat settings on the SVTC, it only takes 1 bar for the seat to be so comfy on colder days. Anything higher than that will burn the buttocks. It is true, it does make a very big difference to have heated grips and seat. I think today, it is my RSV’s turn to hit the road.
  21. Despite the ups and downs in the weather here in SE Pa, I took advantage of the change and rode the bike to and from work and will do the same again tomorrow which will be the warmest day of the week. Thanks to the heated grips and seat on a 40° temp ride. So folks, it is time to wipe down your bikes and go for a ride. Always be safe.
  22. FWIW, even electric bicycles are starting to pickup. Pricey but nice.
  23. My ‘07 choke stays out and it must stay out until it is time to push it back in after a brief engine warm up. As mentioned before, previous owner must have done something with the adjustment.
  24. Did you ever cross a small river or crossed a flooded road? Just throwing out possibilities.
  25. I bought the plugs from NAPA for a case of 10. FWIW, I’ve been buying plugs from NAPA for several decades including plugs for my ‘07 RSV and never had any issues. So far, I have put on 200 miles on the new plugs and the bike has been running well. I’ll try to feel the bikes 🏍 performance moving forward.
