  1. It is time now for my '07 for some TLC routine maintenance. Spark Plugs, Coolant, Oil and Filter, Fuel Filter, Gear Oil and Carb Synch (Air Filter: done). I plan to do some this weekend and hope to finish the same day. Our forecast is rain all weekend long...perfect time to work on the bike. BTW, I love taking pics.
  2. The West Coast of Florida is taking a major hit. Hang in there Floridians.
  3. For everyone in Florida and especially to all the folks in the western part of Florida in harms way of the hurricane, be safe out there.
  4. Sounds like a nice ride up in the mountains. I am hoping that we don't get too much on the remnants of Hurricane Ian this coming weekend.
  5. I have a feeling Yamaha, Honda and Kawasaki are just taking a few years of hiatus in terms of manufacturing large touring bikes. Large Jap bikes will come back no matter what, because I see that there is always a market for it. I know for now, we don't see much that is why I am holding on to my '07 and '18. These bikes continue to put a smile on my face.
  6. Agree. This time of the year around September and October, it gets warm during the day and cools down pretty well at night. I always check my tires in the morning hours to get a more accurate reading. @Freebird So nice to hear you are enjoying your trike. Ride Safe.
  7. With about 300 plus bikes, glad that you guys had police escort. Awesome to hear it turned out to be a successful event.
  8. @Freebird A wider tire on a smaller rim may look awkward and it might be the unsafe option. I kept my front wheel OEM and I've always felt and think that a bigger tire feels more planted on the road than a smaller tire. Bring it back to original specs, if you can since since you may have more weight to support.
  9. I use this on both my bikes and it will alleviate any future problems.
  10. 2nd Gen RSV bikes do not like to sit too long in the garage. Ride them often and you will alleviate future problems. I am not so sure what that metallic tube you saw in the left rear spark plug chamber.
  11. I just can't give up with Yamaha just yet. SVTC bikes are loved by many and off course has some issues as well, but easily addressed with Yamaha's 5 Year warranty. I remain optimistic that Yamaha will continue to innovate and put out fun bikes for us to enjoy.
  12. I'd like to also see them sets in different sizes as well.
  13. @craigatcsi Hope you feel better soon. Even though you no longer can ride, focus on what is now more important to you and that will be your health. Memories do last forever...
  14. Michelin or Dunlop are great choices. Since you already have a Dunlop in front, go for a Dunlop tire to match.
  15. Glad to hear that your lowered front is working out nice for you. Ride Safe.
  16. Hi Don. Congrats on the new Trike. Have lots of fun with it.
  17. When I got my Taco '21 OR, I got Ceramic coating and rustproofing. The ceramic coating will be reapplied by the dealer every 5 years, so they said I don't have to worry about waxing. They did not try to sell me Nitrogen and I don't intend to fill my tires with Nitrogen anyway. Regular air is perfect for me as well.
  18. We are all getting some type of heat wave over here on the East Coast, but I still managed to ride my RSV and SVTC taking turns every other day. Today I will spend time with the RSV and go for a nice ride to and from work. Even though I do not have any long rides scheduled, I cherish the time simply riding the bike doing local errands and commute to and from work. As always, Ride Safe. The next time I get the chance and hopefully this weekend, I will replace plugs, coolant and fuel filter on the RSV.

  20. Perhaps look into a storage place and inquire about a week of storage, if you run out of options.
  21. @Freebird When I saw the picture, I already had a big hunch the truck may be totalled...so glad to know Eileen is ok. Hope you get more or almost close to what you paid for from your insurance. I have a 21 OR and love it very much. The 22 Pros are very nice. Happy shopping for a new truck.
  22. Thanks for the heads up and thankfully I've never ordered from them.
  23. @Freebird Hi Don. Glad you were able to get a ride in. Same here, I've been riding a whole lot more these days switching between the RSV and SVTC and it has been great as well. Be safe out there.
  24. I am liking it.
  25. I also don't tune all the time. In fact is has been 3 years since the last one. Bike still runs great.
