  1. I am doubtful that it will happen but I hope like hell it does! That would just be awesome if they brought out a new touring bike......please keep the pillow top seats though!!!
  2. I didn't want to pay 18-20k for a bike that isn't fuel injected and there were no good used ones in my area. Also the street glide just really fit me good. I should have just been more patient and waited for a good used one to pop up. Live and learn. Im not totally unhappy with my Street Glide by any means, i just miss the awesome comfort of the Venture. It spoiled me!
  3. I sure hope you guys are right, you have me a little excited now for sure. If they come out with one next august i will be first in line! I know I'll lose my azz on the bike i just bought but so be it. I miss my Venture!!!
  4. As most of you know my Venture got totalled by an idiot that rear ended me and i went and bought a new Harley Street Glide. The Street Glide is a nice bike and all but it is not the bike that my Venture was and i really miss it and am thinking i made a mistake by getting the HD. If Yamaha made a 3rd gen Venture i would trade my new Harley in for one tomorrow. Has anyone heard anything at all what Yamaha plans to do with the Venture? I wish they would be more up front with their customers and not keep us in the dark.
  5. I don't know if they do any better or not but at least you can understand them. I hate that bullsh*t! This is America and I think it is shameful for an American company to put their customer service centers in India to save a few dollars sorry. When I call my cable company I get to talk to an American, at least for now....they probably will sell out also eventually. This country is in sad shape and about ready to hit rock bottom because of sh*t like this and I am sick of it. I bet if you did a survey that it pisses off 95 out of 100 people when they call and have to deal with someone who can't speak English when they are trying to get help with something.
  6. I agree, had Direct TV for 15 years and they just kept charging more and more and more. I told them I was a loyal customer and I wanted the same price that new customers were getting and all they would do was knock 10 dollars off of my bill so I told them to piss off! They used to have the best customer service out there, now just like everyone else, you have to talk to someone that can't speak a lick of English when you call. They will never see another dime from me guaranteed. They still send me letters saying they want me back and ive been gone for 4-5 years now. I like my cable better now anyway because it never goes out, especially during severe weather when you need it most. They lost a good customer!
  7. Very nice boat....congrats!
  8. They seriously wanted to charge you to park while visiting their store??? If that is true I bet they wont be in business very long!
  9. I'm thinking MT Pockets is the winner here because he has a boat AND a Harley now! I've owned both, and believe it or not I think the Harley is a bigger money pit than a boat. I bought a new Street Glide a month ago and im going broke already! lol
  10. Mine "was" the pillow top and I could ride 300 miles easy and im not in great shape by any means....probably not so great shape actually. After my Venture got totaled I bought a HD Street Glide and that seat is not bad, but it's crap compared to the Venture and I rode 200 miles yesterday and it wasn't too bad either. Maybe you should buy a set of pillow tops off of someone's wrecked Venture that they are parting out, might help you a lot possibly? They probably wouldn't cost very much.....might find some on EBAY I bet.
  11. The seat on the Venture is about as good as it gets. I'm kind of surprised that it bothered you that bad. That's not really that many miles?
  12. Very sad news. Rest in peace Big Bird....
  13. Wow too much wrecking going on around here lately! I am glad you guys are ok, sounds like it was a pretty nasty spill. I wish you both a very speedy recovery.
  14. Lol if you knew me Freebird you would probably fall over dead when you found out that i bought a Harley for real. I have bashed harleys my whole life for many reasons, and i still stand behind most everything that i have said about them. My friends are in total shock when i tell them im buying a HD. The world coming to an end was more likely to happen than me buying an HD lol. My only reason to go with the Street Glide is because of my short legs lol. With that said though i am really excited and i think it is a beautiful bike! I just wish you could see the look on peoples faces when i tell them im getting a Harley, it's truly priceless.
  15. I would like to thank all of you guys for your kind words. I have bought a new Street Glide and will be picking it up on Wednesday i think. I know it isn't even in the same league as the Venture comfort wise but i just really love the looks of it and the way it fits me. Me only being 5'7" limits me to what i can ride. I had the Venture lowered front and back and the seat shaved down and it was still a tad big for me. No matter what i ride though i will be a member of this forum because there is a bunch of great people here.....as long as you don't kick me out for buying a Harley! lol
  16. Got rear ended sitting at a red light and knocked into the car in front of me, my pride and joy is destroyed now! I have a real mixture of emotions going on right now, im really saddened about my bike, mad because of the work I have put into the bike and the money I am going to lose because of some idiots negligence, and VERY VERY thankful to be alive. Also very thankful that this happened the first time that my girlfriend couldn't be on the bike with me this year.....other than me riding to work and back that is. Now I have to decide what to do about another bike. I know im not going to pay 20k for a brand new Venture until they update the bike and put fuel injection on it etc.......ARE YOU LISTENING YAMAHA??? If I buy a used venture it would have to be one that is cherry with low miles, then I would have to put a lowering kit on it like my old one had so it would fit me. I don't see any used Ventures locally at the moment that sparks my interest either. I am not an HD fan at all but the Street Glide and the Road Glide like Don just bought does fit me pretty good because they have a low seat. I have rode an Electra Glide which is similar to Dons bike and while I do like it pretty well, I just have a bad feeling that I may not like it like I did the Venture. My girlfriend has already voiced her displeasure about it and we didn't even get a half mile down the road. She is spoiled by the comfort of the Venture. I am a very mixed up individual right now.....what's a guy to do???

I use a leather holster that has a metal clip that just clips over my pants and the gun is on the outside of my pants and i put my shirt over it. You can also get a leather holster that clips on and goes inside your pants. The only thing there is you gotta wear pants that are loose and a belt. That doesn't work too well for me because im fat and my pants are tight lol. Stoner does make really nice holsters though. They are as good as the big name brands in my opinion....they are high quality.

I know alot of people do not like Taurus guns and i am not gonna say that they are the best guns on the market by any means, but they certainly aren't junk either like alot of people claim. I have other more expensive big name guns that i carry also, but i just love the way that the 709 feels when you are carrying it. It is very thin and not big, heavy, and bulky, and i have put alot of rounds through it and i am confident that it wont let me down if i ever have to use it. There is a small learning curve to shooting it though because of the long trigger pull, but once you get used to it, it's a very accurate and reliable gun. The easiest gun to conceal is my LCP .380 but i like the 9mm fire power and accuracy of the 709 better than the LCP. I honestly just can't say enough about the 709 Slim, it is a great gun for concealed carry. I also have a Smith & Wesson M&P compact .40 that is a super super nice gun, but the 709 Slim is just more comfortable to carry and easier to conceal, especially in the summer time when you are wearing a t-shirt.

I just think the leather holsters are much nicer Bob, they just feel better. I get my holsters from a local shop by my house, they are very good quality. I know the Don Hume and Galco holsters are suppose to be very nice ones also. Here is the link to their site....i can also pick you one up too if you wanted me to. http://www.stonerholsters.com

I have several carry guns but my favorite out of all of them is the 709 Slim. Get yourself a leather holster for it also, leather is the only way to go for holsters. I have probably put at least 1000 rounds through the 709 and it has yet to jam on me once. It is a great carry gun and i highly reccomend it.
  21. 5,000 miles is alot of miles when you are just riding bar to bar being a Poser! I do have a friend with a 2005 Ultra Classic that actually rides his bike. Surprisingly he has 75,000 miles on it and it has been pretty much trouble free. He said he is going to try to get 100,000 out of it and then go buy a new one.
  22. I never pay a contractor until the job is done, that's my rule. I did that once with a friend of mine that put siding on my garage and couldn't hardly get his butt out there to do the job. It took him almost a year to put siding on my garage, NEVER AGAIN! People tend to work a little harder for you when they are waiting to get paid for a job.

  24. Sorry to hear about all of this, good grief! I hope things start looking up for you real soon.
  25. I found this article and it's a pretty good read. Looks like our old Venture faired pretty well. http://www.ridermagazine.com/output.cfm?id=2226349
