  1. I need help finding replacements for the four hard rubber round washers that mount between the luggage rack and the trunk lid on an 08 RSV. I removed the rack to do some power polishing and the washers seemed to have grown legs and walked away. I have checked every local hardware store and those they have are either too small/large, or wrong strength and curl up on edges when tightened. Local dealer says I will most likely have to order another rack just to get the washers. I don't think so! Any help is greatly appreciated.
  2. Hey Randy, I too was at Ubon from Nov 72-Nov 73. I was with the 8th Air Base Defense Sq. I worked primarily in the heavy weapons section and supported the off base "Delta Sector" bomb dump. Lived in the old "Tin Hooches" there on the main base. What a tour of duty that was. As for the Nam Vet issue. Your DD214 should recognize your award of the Viet Nam Campaign and the Viet Nam Service Medals. They are awarded specifically for: This medal is awarded to members of the Armed Forces of the United States who: 1) Served for 6 months in South Vietnam during the period 1 Mar 61 and 28 Mar 73; 2) Served outside the geographical limits of South Vietnam and contributed direct combat support to the RVN Armed Forces for an aggregate of six months. Only members of the Armed Forces of the United States who meet the criteria established for the AFEM (Vietnam) or Vietnam Service Medal during the period of service required are considered to have contributed direct combat support to the RVN Armed Forces; In country or not, You earned them my friend.
  3. Got it.... Thanks!
  4. Where can I find an outlined US/States map similar to the ones I've seen on many posts here. I'd like to color in the states I've ridden and add to my sig. Thanks
  5. I think I have the same rattle. Almost a buzzing noise.
  6. The big 80 in OKC today. You know what I was doing and will be doing some more later. My poor Venture thought I'd sold it!
  7. Maybe we could all unite and ask for stimulus money. I know it would help stimulate my riding time if someone else would buy the gas.
  8. OH MAN.... I had to skip forward to make sure the baby was gonna be okay! Nature of being a first responder I guess. That has to be the saddest sound in the world, a baby crying in distress. Rips your heart out. Aside from that what an amazing video. I now have to share it with my kids who have small kids and they both have pools. Thanks for posting.
  9. No one can argue that Harley Davidson has the best complete product marketing that consumers money can buy. You see HD products everywhere you go. From the largest most high end HD dealerships to the smallest gas station gift / souvenir isles. Everything from pencil erasers to leather jackets. I always get a chuckle every time I see some couple climb off an HD completely decked out in HD gear...hats, scarves, tshirts, jackets, rings, boots, helmets, even logo chaps. I understand "pride in your ride" but....really? all that? HD's are nice bikes but not for that kind of money. I guess it all boils down to how much one is willing to spend on feeding an ego. To each his/her own... Ride On!
  10. You might look into the Ovation Acoustic/Electric. Great sound and the fiberglass bowl really resonates beautifully. The only draw back is that the bowl shape can tend to slide around on your lap a little. A sister to the Ovation is the Applause which I played the heck out of for years. It is a very versatile and reasonably priced option. Good luck with the search and keep on strummin.
