  1. I've got NOTHING to say about the FINE folks here. Last time I said something, they got me in trouble with Eileen. Now where is that picture I was presented.
  2. Didn't hurt at all...I'm wearing my suite of armor.
  3. No, the increase was actually more than $90.00 I guess. I was paying about 80.00 per year for liability on the Venture. If I cancelled it, my insurance was not going down by $80.00 but increasing by $90.00. I don't remember exactly what I'm paying but just as an example...say I was paying $360.00 for full coverage on the Road Glide and liability on the Venture. If I cancelled the Venture, the price was going up to $450.00 even though it was now JUST for the Road Glide.
  4. The Touring Hogs site is off to a VERY slow site. I knew it would be a steep hill to climb though because there are just so many well established Harley sites out there. We'll see. Now, as for the demerits and etc. There is actually a reputation system and strikes system built into the software here but I disabled it from the beginning and have never considered turning it on.
  5. Yea, it seems to be an Internet Explorer issue. I was able to duplicate it when using IE 10 but don't get it with Firefox or with Chrome.
  6. Thanks guys. I'll see what I can do.
  7. That is pretty much it. There are some water jacket plugs. They won't fall out but they are just a press fit and you won't want to run the bike with the fins off. Inspect them for leaks. It is a common place that people have found water leaks and it may be a good time to go ahead and replace them. Very simple job.
  8. Here is the issue that I am facing. I went online the other night to cancel the insurance on the RSV that I sold to Yammer. All I ever carried on it was liability. When I submitted the change, I got a warning message that if I deleted it then my insurance would go up by $90.00 per year due to losing my multi-bike discount. So now what to do? I can save $90.00 a year by insuring Dan's bike for him.
  9. Haven't seen that message. I can assure you that there is nothing to be concerned with however.
  10. I don't think you can make a blanket statement like that. It apparently depends upon the area where you live. I have my cars and motorcycles insured through Progressive and I HAVE shopped around. Nobody else has come close to even matching what I am paying for the same coverage. Also, when I needed them last year after hitting a deer in my Avalanche. The service was very good and fast.
  11. It must not apply to me. I don't remember forgetting anything.
  12. Congrats to Brenda. The Shadow is a very dependable bike. I had an 1100 Shadow Ace years ago and really enjoyed it.
  13. For the past several years, we have auctioned a trailer for the grand prize at the International. Maybe it's time to change that for a while but I want your feedback on the issue. I thought about doing a poll but decided to just let you make your suggestions because you may have some that I would not include in a poll. So what would you buy raffle tickets for? Trailer? Zumo GPS, an assortment of small prizes with GPS, Cameras, etc? We were actually trying to work a deal on a camper this year but it is just too expensive and would pretty much wipe out our reserve funds if enough tickets weren't sold.
  14. You need to take a long test ride. I can tell you that they are not for everybody. I took about a 20 minute test ride a few years ago and loved it. I really thought I wanted one. Then a couple of years ago I took one for a full day during the International Rally in NY. My wife and I put a couple hundred miles on it. I could not wait to get off that thing. After a few miles, my back and legs were killing me. My infatuation with it was over with. Now I am tall and have a long inseam. They are simply not built for tall riders. So, I came very close to buying one after that short test ride. Had I done so, it would have been one of those you see on Ebay with less than 2000 miles on it very quickly.
  15. Unfortunately, it wouldn't help much because the ads are deleted shortly after an item is sold. At least they should be. People should NOT use the "never expire" option when listing their item. Then when they mark it sold, it is automatically deleted in a few days.
  16. I ran into an issue at Walmart a few years ago. Needed tires for my company car. Didn't want to spend a lot because it was almost time to turn it in for a new one. I went to Walmart and they had about 6 different tires on display so I picked one out and told the guy those were the ones I wanted. He told me that they only had one tire that would fit my Dodge Caravan and they were about double the price. So I asked why he had all the tires on display if he didn't stock them. He said it was just to show an overview of what they MAY have. I asked how long it would take to order the ones I need and he told me that they really didn't do that. If he ordered them, he would have to wait until he was ready to place a general order and it would probably be a couple of months. Never tried to buy tires there again. The size for the RSV is certainly not common and I think very few people have found them in stock at their local dealers. I seem to remember that the most popular one, I think it was the Nexus, had been discontinued or something and people were having a hard time finding it. Glad I'm not a Darksider fan.
  17. I think you will be very lucky if you find anything locally. I do think that there are some bike tires that will last MUCH longer than that Metz did. If you are willing to try the Dunlop E3, it may surprise you. Not that I'm trying to talk you out of the darkside if that is what you want but just trying to save your vacation time.
  18. Lubed with engine oil. That is why it is important to make sure that whatever oil you choose to use does NOT have the energy conserving label on it. It can cause your clutch to slip.
  19. Got it added. Sorry for the delay. My screen on the computer decided to go out so I have been without a computer for a day or so. Anyway, I created it under the Motorcycle Experiences category. I can move it if you folks would rather it be elsewhere. Maybe better under the Rides and Rallies area?
  20. The Khromewerks is a very good hitch. If you want basically the same thing for less than half the price, contact Carbon_one on this site. He makes fantastic products.
  21. LOL...ok....creative but I think it should contain the word "CAMPING" so that people will have SOME clue as to what it is about.
  22. I had not seen this video before and to be honest, it brought tears to my eyes. For those of you who served in that hell hole, we owe you much more respect than you ever received. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=LemllfcAY8A&sns=em
  23. I think it was the Valvoline DOT 4. I'll have to find the can because I don't remember for sure. I know it was synthetic. I changed all the fluids when I put the SS lines and Flanders bars on but that has been a few years.
  24. What do you want to call it? Motorcycle Camping? VentureRider Campers? what?
  25. Yes, that's not a problem. I'll get it added sometime later this evening.
