  1. First of all, when I came back to this group after having straying away on a Wing for a while, I was welcomed back with open arms and saw many of the faces and names that I knew from my earlier times in the group. But now I have to give a shout out to one member.......XV1100SE - Don Tohivsky. I will quickly admit that when it comes to working on the bike, I am challenged when it comes to the electrical stuff. I knew Don from back when and when I mentioned that I could use some help getting my GPS and Satellite radio mounted and wired into my new-to-me 09 RSV , Don was quick to offer his help. This week he came to my place 3 nights to get the job done. I need to clarify....he didnt help....he did the work and I was just standing around looking stupid.....which I excel at by the way. Not only does he know what he's doing, he does excellent work, does it right and doesn't cut corners. It is this kind of friendly help that many members of this group offer up all the time. My hat goes off to Don and fellow members for family that we have here. Looking forward to seeing some old friends and making some new friends in Ashville in August. Ride safe everyone. Rooster
  2. Ya, I have a ton of different mounts but none that I trust to stay steady enough to avoid vibration if I wanna get outside of the windscreen.
  3. I did download a version of Microsoft Streets and like it....I'll make that work.
  4. Well riding season is finally getting here and I want to mount my GoPro on my 09 RSV. Looking for suggestions/pictures on how/where people have mounted theirs.
  5. Got myself a Progressive hand pump. Good to go.
  6. Relatively tech savvy but this is kicking my butt. So my cousin and I came up with a route from his place to go visit the rest of his family in Georgia. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get that route into Garmin Base Camp.......lots of instructions on the web but when they say "click here, or save it as..." I dont have that button to click, and Google maps will only say it in certain formats, none of which is able to be imported into Base Camp. Anybody have any ideas.....driving me crazy......lucky it's a short drive. ReinyRooster
  7. Looking to get one of those hand pumps needed for the air ride.......can anybody tell me a brand or name for this thing so I know what to call it in a Google search. Thanks
  8. Now Carl....both your Parole officer and your therapist told you to start being nice to people.......remember? They even gave you those pills that make the sky turn different colours.
  9. Been a long time since I've been to a Venture gathering. Looking forward to seeing some old friends and making some new friends. Going to hook up with my cousin in Westfield, New York and ride down to Atlanta to see family. Wasn't able to get there during the lock-down when my Uncle passed. Gonna stay there Sunday to Wednesday morning, get to Ashville Wednesday noonish and enjoy some company. See you all then.
  10. Just booked a room for my cousin and I at the Quality Inn just Outside of Black Mountain on #9 from Wednesday to Friday. Can't wait!
  11. So do they have the trap door.........Bwahahahahahaha. Sounds like a great idea.
  12. Sounds like the worst of it is already fixed....good job!
  13. Have you showered recently.......bwahahahahahaha.
  14. Both of mine went in from the side. I had a spinal tap and then they top you off so when you wake up you're not too groggy. The idiot doing my second surgery spinal tap tried 6 times, then they got somebody else that needed 3 more tries.....oh well. They have you up walking the same day or the next day. They send you home on day 3 if no complications. Pain was minimal, certainly much less then before. I strongly recommend following the rehab exercises. My right hip came out much better then the left one.....it's not terrible, just not as good as the right one. The right one feels as good as new and the scar is almost invisible after 2 years. Good luck......I'm free to chat about it anytime if you need to.
  15. Fellow Ontario VentureRiders........I don't know about you but between 2 hip replacement surgeries and the Covid lockdowns and travel restrictions, I haven't been anywhere on a bike in way too long. Assuming cross border travel is allowed then, who is going to the Asheville get-together in August? At this point in time, I am giving it some serious thought. Who else wants to go?
  16. Haven't been anywhere with the bike in a long time......gonna try and make this event.
  17. Space is the other issue that I can't get around til I can put the snowblower back in the shed at the end of that season. Tequila is my go-to beverage....but that's not to say I don't enjoy a variety of schnapps'. I'm flexible in that respect.
  18. Every time I go out to my garage and see my bike I wanna scream....this ridiculously cold winter can take a hike! I have a number of projects that I wanna do on the bike but my garage is small, already, overcrowded and very cold....too cold to do what I wanna do and no room until I can put the snowblower away. OK...I've had my rant.....I'll pour myself a little Tequila and relax.....for now.......
  19. I might be interested in one of those as well.
  20. No....not a tall blonde....I have a scale model of the Wng I just sold and can't remember where I got it....now I would like a similar scale model of my RSV. Anybody know where they can be had? Tried searching the net and Fleaby with no luck. Thanks
  21. Freebird, so sorry to hear of your relapse. Prayers for a speedy and positive outcome. I agree 100% that the local get-togethers and the Maintenance Days were awesome. I think everyone enjoyed those and they definitely helped keep this group together. Covid has wreaked havoc on all social groups and gatherings and can't end soon enough. I left this group a few years ago when I sold my RSV and switched to a Wing......that didn't last long. I missed my RSV and I missed this group of misfits. Sold the Wing, bought another RSV and rejoined this clan......and feel like I am home again. I hope this group can continue on....the friendships created here, the wealth of knowledge here and the willingness of members to jump in and help another member is unmatched anywhere. Stay safe everyone....spring will come.....
  22. Merry Christmas......ya, I'm late.
  23. Merry Christmas everyone. Let's all stay safe.
