Thought I would start a separate thread for this. I haven't been to a Friday the 13th in about 10 years. Thought I would go just for the ride before I get my new knee. Anybody from the K-W area want to join me, meet Friday morning at the Timmie's on Homer Watson by the 401 around 10:00am. Hope to leave there by 10:30. Gotta wait for my son-in-law who is riding in from out of town.

So I need to buy myself a carb sync tool so I don't have to rely on someone else with the tool to assist me. There is the style that I am familiar with that has the mercury tubes or there is the other type with the 4 needle gauges. Any comments of why one might be better then the other? The mercury tube style it about twice the price of the other type. Thanks. Rooster

Well I already have had both hips replaced, and the left knee has been a problem since I was in my 20s but the doc wouldn't replace the knee back then cause I was too young. I wear a brace on it most days but it's to the point lately of keeping me from sleeping. Everyone says that the knee replacement is more painful and a longer recovery then the hip....I guess I'm about to find out.

So I got confirmation last week that I getting my knee replacement surgery May 24. Gonna rehab hard and hope to be back in the saddle for this trip.

Potato Creek was a hoot. but Colorado was my favourite for a few reasons.....it was my longest trip on a bike, the camaraderie and of course the Colorado scenery was amazing. Would do that one again anytime.

Who wants to ride to Port Dover tomorrow??

Well I did get her out for her maiden voyage for this year. Didn't go as far as Port Dover. Make a vibration at highway speeds that is making my hands go numb. Have to get her to the shop for a few things before my August ride to Atlanta anyway. Getting a new knee May 24 and hoping to be able to rehab in time to head to Atlanta in mid-August. -
Anybody from the Kitchener-Waterloo area want to ride to Dover for lunch tomorrow? Itching for the first ride of the year. If you interested, call or text me at 226-988-1655. Rooster

First of all, when I came back to this group after having straying away on a Wing for a while, I was welcomed back with open arms and saw many of the faces and names that I knew from my earlier times in the group. But now I have to give a shout out to one member.......XV1100SE - Don Tohivsky. I will quickly admit that when it comes to working on the bike, I am challenged when it comes to the electrical stuff. I knew Don from back when and when I mentioned that I could use some help getting my GPS and Satellite radio mounted and wired into my new-to-me 09 RSV , Don was quick to offer his help. This week he came to my place 3 nights to get the job done. I need to clarify....he didnt help....he did the work and I was just standing around looking stupid.....which I excel at by the way. Not only does he know what he's doing, he does excellent work, does it right and doesn't cut corners. It is this kind of friendly help that many members of this group offer up all the time. My hat goes off to Don and fellow members for family that we have here. Looking forward to seeing some old friends and making some new friends in Ashville in August. Ride safe everyone. Rooster

Ya, I have a ton of different mounts but none that I trust to stay steady enough to avoid vibration if I wanna get outside of the windscreen.

I did download a version of Microsoft Streets and like it....I'll make that work. -
Well riding season is finally getting here and I want to mount my GoPro on my 09 RSV. Looking for suggestions/pictures on how/where people have mounted theirs.

Relatively tech savvy but this is kicking my butt. So my cousin and I came up with a route from his place to go visit the rest of his family in Georgia. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get that route into Garmin Base Camp.......lots of instructions on the web but when they say "click here, or save it as..." I dont have that button to click, and Google maps will only say it in certain formats, none of which is able to be imported into Base Camp. Anybody have any ideas.....driving me crazy......lucky it's a short drive. ReinyRooster

Now Carl....both your Parole officer and your therapist told you to start being nice to people.......remember? They even gave you those pills that make the sky turn different colours.

Been a long time since I've been to a Venture gathering. Looking forward to seeing some old friends and making some new friends. Going to hook up with my cousin in Westfield, New York and ride down to Atlanta to see family. Wasn't able to get there during the lock-down when my Uncle passed. Gonna stay there Sunday to Wednesday morning, get to Ashville Wednesday noonish and enjoy some company. See you all then.

Just booked a room for my cousin and I at the Quality Inn just Outside of Black Mountain on #9 from Wednesday to Friday. Can't wait!

Hey Ontario...who's going to Asheville?
ReinyRooster replied to ReinyRooster's topic in Watering Hole
Both of mine went in from the side. I had a spinal tap and then they top you off so when you wake up you're not too groggy. The idiot doing my second surgery spinal tap tried 6 times, then they got somebody else that needed 3 more tries.....oh well. They have you up walking the same day or the next day. They send you home on day 3 if no complications. Pain was minimal, certainly much less then before. I strongly recommend following the rehab exercises. My right hip came out much better then the left one.....it's not terrible, just not as good as the right one. The right one feels as good as new and the scar is almost invisible after 2 years. Good luck......I'm free to chat about it anytime if you need to.
