So I bought this off Ebay a while back and finally got around to looking at it......in the meantime I scored another 1st Gen. centre stand and have it mounted on my 09 RSV. The stand itself on this one looks similar to what I have mounted but the spring is different and there is another curved metal piece that I don't have on mine. The original Ebay advertisement says its from a 1983 Yamaha Venture Royale.....did they change sometime after 1983? I have no use for this now and will be looking to sell it but I just want to be able to accurately describe what it is and what it fits. Thanks.

I just crunched some numbers regarding my bike trip to Atlanta and then to Ashville and it ends up I did approx. 3,770kms.... that's about 2340miles....no wonder my butt hurts.

Sad that I had to leave so soon.. had an issue come up at home that was better if I was there. Put in a little over 400 miles today, should be home by tomorrow. Ride safe everyone.

bwahahahaha.... Made it to the park entrance and had to duck under a roof as the rain came! Coming down now!!

Finally made it into town, found the motel and dumped our gear. Grabbing a bite at the BBQ joint and will then make our way to KOA.

Gave the beast a good wipe down today, cleaned the screen, checked the tire pressure and gassed her up. I will finish packing the bike tomorrow morning and hit the road around noon on this adventure. My anticipated route will create a round tip of 3164km....or 1966miles. Probably won't sleep a wink tonight......LOL.

Dang.....tried Cowpuc's suggestion with the lead.....didnt work....and yes, I am pushing the key in when trying to lock it.......no joy.

Handlebars were all the way to the left........I wiggled it.....I jiggled it....I spoke nicely to it.....I swore at it.....I offered to never ride another again.....no joy. The ignition will not turn all the way to the lock position.......almost but not quite.

Have an 09 RSV.......the ignition switch seems to work as it should except it wont lock. IO can turn the key almost all the way to the lock position but it feels like it's not going quite far enough, and won't lock. Can't pull the key out in that position. Is this a common problem with a fix or should I be preparing for an ignition switch failure?

Dang.....I'm getting itchy for this event. Will be leaving home Thursday afternoon to ride to my cousin's in Westfield, NY. Leave there Friday morning....take 2 or 3 days to get to Atlanta to see family, and then head to Ashville Wednesday. Haven't done a long ride like this since my new hips and knee. Can't wait!!!!!

So what is the best way to correct the inaccurate speedo on my 09 RSV. Heard about a Speedo Healer...... any suggestions?

Hey guys.....have a 2009 RSV.....it's my second RSV but I didnt ride enough at night to notice this issue. I rode up to the cottage in the dark last night.......the radio control pad lights up but neither of the control pods ( signal/horn or cruise/starter) pods light up. Are they supposed to? If so, where should I be looking to find the problem....and if not, is there a way to have them light up? I thought I saw pictures once where these pods were lit up. Thanks. Rooster

My cousin and I are staying at the Quality Inn,585 Sr 9, Black Mountain.

Went for the first ride with the new knee. Felt great to be riding again. Now just waiting for the Asheville meet!
