  1. My thoughts as well, change the design of you shorts, some work, some don't so well,,, sometimes even the pair of jeans you wear,,, I have 3 pair of jeans, all bought the same day, same brand, same size and one pair ain't so very comfortable, the other two are just fine. Go figure.
  2. Only took about 5 minutes for us at the border coming home, but the I was on a first gen.....
  3. So on my computer I don't use any credit cards, or don't use any credit cards on my computer, but then my name isn't Trader. So what happens when my message shows up on your screen.
  4. If you are down to one bar, chances are your fuel pump won't be getting any fuel and it will quit while just sitting there running. Also, these bikes won't start very well if at all with the throttle open. The choke is not a butterfly as one would normally think, but rather it's an enricher valve, so the system works differently, and opening the throttle doesn't seem to help the starting.
  5. I still have 2 kits available in mirror stainless, that include everything needed to do both sides. $125 plus shipping if you're interested, but no, I have extra brackets,,,, I would have had if I knew you were going to lose yours.
  6. Thanks Don for pulling the plug,, so to speak,, and oh, I wasn't complaining about the heat,,, I was only commenting, but thanks for pointing that out. Guess you got some work ahead of you Brake Pad,,,,,, Go For IT. Need some help, just ask.
  7. Thanks for posting Don, our prayers will surround them as well. No serious injuries is good news, but the physical healing will still be a process and the mental thing will take a good deal longer. Best to both of you guys,,, God Bless. Carl
  8. I'll second all that, because I know that Squidley is smarter than I am, 'course that doesn't necessarily make him real smart seeing as I am not always the brightest light on the street, but I do have my own pole. The only thin that I would 'one up him' is the use of Plastex. I have switched to Plastifix, same product but much more product for the same money and better applicators, so much easier to work with. http://www.urethanesupply.com/PlastiFix-Kits-1/ I would recommend this kit. I get this from Air Craft Spruce and find the price is the best for the amount of product. http://www.aircraftspruce.ca/search/search.php?s=2502&x=0&y=0
  9. Something that came up this weekend. There has been discussion on riding distance, accommodations and such. Now I may have missed it, but very little has been said about the daily temp in AL. I for one would not have a good time if it was hot every day. So to start this discussion, seeing as the temp runs around 90 to 95 degrees during the daytime, I would not be attending. Now that's not saying that nobody should attend, or that we should move to a different location,,,,, but,,,,,,it's a good thing to discuss all the in's and out's but if we decide not attend, then all our input is kind of redundant. So what's your thoughts,, will you attend if the IR is in AL and the temp will be 90 or better? Brake Pad has done a lot of preliminary work on this already, but maybe it's a good time to see some numbers. Should we do a poll on this?
  10. YICS= Yamaha Injection Control System. Seems like there is a sync problem. My guess is that's it's a way out on one carb. Time to set them all back to fully closed and start again. I won't argue with the cable hang-up idea. Best way to check that is to run the carbs manually, so remove the left side cover and using a flat screw driver move the half moon control that the cable hooks up to. You can increase the RPMs and when you let go of it the engine should return to idle. You can watch the mechanics by doing this and so make a determination.
  11. Sorry, back up,,,see you at Casablanca.
  12. Your call now Evan.
  13. Check all 4 carbs to make sure they are seated properly. There is only 1 vacuum line that has any business being there. That's the one on the front left carb, and has a restrictor in it. Just undo the Jason mod, you don't really need that YICS anyways, just pull the lines and plug the ports, you can always put things back later if you wish. Did the sync go well or was it left with,,,, that's the best I can do!
  14. OK so we'll meet at Casablanca on or before 8:30, leave there no later than 9. That gives us two hours,,,,,, 1 hr riding, 1\2 hr border, 1\2 hr to go P.
  15. Yep, got that one!,, but but it's frayed, so only good for an emergency.
  16. Did it scream or screech before it died? You may have lost the inner cable if the bottom end came loose. I have a spare if you needs it.
  17. LP is short for Lincoln Park, and that is a retirement home on Bartlett Ave in Grimsby,, the last Grimsby exit on the QEW, so past the Christy street exit. Exit Bartlett ave, turn left, south on Bartlett, and you'll find Lincoln Park on the right just before the intersection with #8 hiway. Evan's father and mother live there, so I guess we'll get to meet them. So the plan now is: Meet at Lincoln Park at around 8:15 for coffee and then carry on directly to Lockport. Want to join us, that will be just fine, if not, that will just fine as well.
  18. Cables go from the handle bar to the cruise control on the left side. That's the end of the first two cables. They hook into a pulley type thing affair. From there there are 2 shorter cables that go to the carbs, so 4 cables in all and they are all different.
  19. Jason mod was done with the YICS hoses,,,, what happened here I have no idea, and why somebody would do such a thing would make no sense to me either. I would just undo those hoses and put caps in place, you might find that will help out with your issue big time. Keep in mind that there is a vacuum hose coming from the left front cylinder going to the TCI. It will be needed as well as a restrictor in that line.
  20. Sorry Scott, upon further investigation the ones I have are not right,, somewhat like their present owner I suppose. I have 4 or 5 of those things, but none have the required bendie thing at the end. There are 4 cables in the system, 2 longer ones that go from the handle bar to the cruise control and then 2 shorter ones that go the carbs.
  21. Easy gentlemen, or we'll loose the whole thread, you may want to consider doing some editing before somebody else does.
  22. Know any farmers???? Actually, try the AirHawk pillow.
  23. So what time then @LP
  24. I think I have one, just need to be sure. Got a picture?
