  1. Wow, glad you are able to type again and tell us of your experience. God gives us many experiences, sometimes we learn, other times we fail to listen or decide we know better. In the end we'll all end up facing eternity. We need to decide here, where we'll be there. I'm glad you heard and listened, now the fun will be to follow the lead.
  2. Ouch, that hurts!!! need some prayer support??? You got it either way!
  3. The small leak may be coming from the bottom bolt on the middle gear cover, it needs a brass washer on it. It may be worn out, or missing. Sometimes you can get away without it, mostly not. That bolt goes into the bottom of the gearcase so you can drain it.
  4. I'm not usually, but it pays to keep a good supply handy,,,, you never know who might show up.
  5. I would guess that the 'back-fire' might have loosened a baffle plate in the collector, which then might have blocked the exhaust, causing your issue. Take a small hammer and tap the collector to see if you can make it rattle a bit.
  6. I've been in the food business for some years,,, ya about 50 of them. It has always amazed me how the food industry can respond to the demands of the buying public by producing low sugar, low fat and low everything else and still keep the prices down. If they no longer add the fat there has to be less weight in the product, so with less weight it should sell for more money,,, so what is it that keeps the weight up to make the profits? How do they do that and still make money,, and if we demand something else tomorrow, that'll happen soon enough as well. What it has taught me: Beware, beware, beware!!!! If it's advertized as New, Healthy, Organic, All Natural, Low Fat, Low Sugar, and any other terminology that the manufactures would deem appropriate, it most likely isn't. We need to listen (and read) closely to what is said, not what they want us to think what was said. Even the 'fresh produce' off of the produce counter at the food store isn't necessarily what you might think you want it to be. By the proper (read: improper) use of chemicals, sugar substitutes and other ingredients, manufactures can actually produce a product that will read to be 100% healthy but is actually a lot worse than if you were to avoid the LOW Fat,(etc) foods altogether. So read the labels and define what is actually said, not what you are led to believe was said, and stay away from cheaper Private Label brands. Go with the national products,,, I think you might be better off.
  7. Us Canadians would have a higher post count if we were to have more hot air to shoot around. But seeing as we have very little hot air to start with, we like to keep it for our own benefit. We also have important things to do, like shoveling, and plowing, and when the time allows we RIDE!
  8. It all depends on what you try to put through that carb. Keeping the gas clean, and the air clean, you should not have to worry about your carbs, other than a sync every so often. It's also a good idea to drain the carbs if it's going to sit for an extended period of time. I bought my 85 @ 48km and finally did the carbs just before I sold it @ 140km. Others have had to do them somewhat sooner,,, like I said, it depends in what you put into them. Seafoam is a good idea, does some of the maintenance. And oh ya,,, keep the oil in the crankcase at 1\2 window or less, otherwise it'll get up in the air-box and then into the carbs of course.
  9. From what I can read here, there are 2 groups,,,, some who buy a bike to ride and the importance of the ride is paramount,,,,, and then there are those who like what their bikes look like and want to accessorize the machine for looks,,,,, and then there are some that perhaps belong to both groups. For me,,,, I went a different route,,, well just because that's what fit my needs at this time. If I were to be looking at becoming younger,, then I would have stayed with the first gen, buuuuut, if I decided to buy new,,,, and RSV would fit the bill real nice,,,, but then you can guess what group I belong to. Hang on while I adjust the target!!!
  10. Happy Birthday Bob,,, wishing you many more, and that Robin will continue to serve to the best of her ability.
  11. WHAT??? Tippy's birthday??? and no party??? what's going on here. So we'll just have an on-line party,,,now how do you do that? Happy Birthday Tip, and sorry for being a little late, but better late than never I guess.
  12. You most likely have the knuckle that is behind the cover in the down position, it should be in the up position. Take the middle gear cover off to check it, and the quickest way to fix it is to take the cover back off again. Common mistake, seeing as the knuckle wants to be in the down position if left to it's own devises.
  13. Floats set too high,,, easily done.
  14. I like the 'rent a storage unit' idea. Would give you more room to do things with more pleasure. Buuuuut there is a cost!
  15. Caution!: second time is not nearly as fun as the first time. First time took me 2 weeks, off and on, the second time I hear is a piece of cake.
  16. I never did anything different than I do in the summer, other than try to make sure the gas tank is full and the carbs are empty and the tires are pumped to spec's.
  17. The throttle is your friend. You'll get out of more trouble with it, than with your brakes.
  18. We may not have it all together, but, together we got it all.
  19. What would happen if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday??
  20. If, is a little word with a great big meaning.
  21. It's nice to be the same,,But,, it's great to be different!!
  22. That was for the down-under benefit, and maybe for some that aren't so down.
  23. I was there once,,, yep just once,, and it lasted a whole day,,, yep, once you hit 25 years the next day it's over and you're on to 26. Congrats and enjoy,,,, we just know you're going to miss NY and will come back.
  24. Marcarl

    ive had it

Sometimes it helps to hang it on a tree, and then get back to it later if it's still hanging there. Often times we get all worried and concerned about things at hand, but once we leave it alone for a while, the perspective is different. In the meantime, prayers for you as well.
  25. This thread has potential,,, so be careful,,, pure speculation and possibility to go south.
