  1. Thanks Eileen and Don, been great to be there. We left early, but that didn't have anything to do with who was there or who was hosting this event,,,, 'course if rain had held up for another day or two, we might have had to 'endure' another evening of sitting around with friends and new acquaintances,,,. As it was, the time we spent was well worth the journey, but the journey was an experience as well. Was great to meet and see everybody we did, looking forward to the NY thing next.
  2. Wow,, what a story, the rain put you down, but I bet the water greased things up for your slide. Glad it didn't happen earlier in the evening with more traffic,, could have been a bit different. Glad your OK,, I think Somebody is looking out for you.
  3. Thanks for the post Lewis,, it can be important if living on this earth is important to you. May you be enjoying the blessing that can be yours from above.
  4. Just made it home, how did everyone else fare. Left Don & Nancy @ a motel. Left Dogman @ Walmart Sent the Rooster on his way by himself Tooch was going on his way and should be home shortly Wizard left me me so I could rise by myself for a bit. Had a bit of wet, good company and a good ride Thanks all for coming and thanks Don for being the sponsor yet again.
  5. Missed you yesterday Dan now we know why. That isn't something that anyone of us would wish for, especially not you after all you been through already. Will pray for you that you may handle this trial as well as you have the previous and ongoing ones. Blessings from above.
  6. In making your own hose set-up, check to make sure that it runs in the same place as the OEM. The gas tank has a joint on the bottom which will nicely cut through a hose in short time. To fix this there is a protecting bracket on the joint. It's only a couple of inches long so the hose has a specific area in which to transit to the far side. The protector can be moved, but make sure that it is firmly reattached.
  7. I knew I would forget something,,, well in this case someone or someones,,,, that solves that then,,, won't have to worry about what I can forget to pack seeing as I already forgot something. Thanks Don! As usual, you are there to keep things together.

  10. I have a 27mm and a 20mm with me. Should use the right ones, nuts aren't that thick that they can take much abuse.
  11. Do you want to change the fork oil as well? You should, seeing as the progressives take less oil than the OEM,,, should be doable. Bring some 10w fork oil.
  12. So you should be well aware as to how often the other sex changes their minds,,, I knew you wouldn't change yours, that's why I mentioned it.
  13. This is only Thursday and on Monday, if my memory serves me correct, the forecast was for 55mm and 90%, then it changed to 35-45 @ 60%, now it's a chance of a thunderbanger with 25-35mm 100%,,,,, gonna be a nice sunny day and hot as usual. Be a good day to be riding in a Kia with airconditioning, and we may even get a free wash out of the deal this year. About time actually, not cheap this MD thing, so something for nothing is always welcome.
  14. I think it's no longer available. I think it's a 5\16 inside, or there abouts. Use brake line with brass fittings.
  15. You got yourself a lot of nerve talking about Tweeks like that,, saying that she is getting too old to ride the two of you on such a short jaunt to MD. Shame on you,,, that there Venture will keep on ticking and ticking,,, don't you go giving up on her so easy and then to say that she can be replaced by something so gentle and frail as what you showed us,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, guess I'll have to add to my speech,, let me do some research.
  16. I'll keep an eye on you then,,, I usually speech until the last one falls asleep,,, I figure that as long as some of the audience is awake it must be interesting, so no reason to stop short eh?
  17. So what if it rain on MD??????,, that'll be a first, but it has threatened before,,, and so that's what they make rain gear for isn't it,,, rain??? just hope the pond don't overflow and we have to start digging ditches,,, that's workkkkkk Normally it wouldn't matter none anyhooo,,,, wet by sweat or wet by rain,, it'll all wash off,,,,, I tink.
  18. So here you go. Spyder wheels kept going out of balance, put in 1oz of beads,,,I'm cheap and the weights were still installed, ran better,, lost weights on the one front this week,,, added 3oz to that wheel,, not so good yet,,,, went and added another 1oz to the front, now 5oz on both fronts and 3 more to the rear, now also 5oz. Rides like a dream so far. We'll see better tomorrow and on the weekend. They say you can better put in too many than not enough,, makes sense to me.
  19. It's not Friday yet,,, things can change,, they have been changing so far,,, just depends on the whim Thursday eve I think.
  20. I have a used one off my 85 that looks usable.
  21. MD day is coming close,,, only 2 more sleeps and I'm almost ready. Just got to write my speech,,, that's all,,,,, well besides a couple of other things,,,, but it's close,,,, just my speech that's all,,, shouldn't be hard,,,4 pages so far and I've almost got the intro done,,,,, now for the body,,, gotta think,, leave me alone, gonna be difficult,,, this thinking isn't really up my alley,,,, got a brain pain,,,eyes are watering,,,,, coffee not helping so much,,, how do people do this,,,,,, it's starting to come I think,,, well something is coming,,,, oh ya:happy65: IT'S MAINTENANCE DAY AT FREEBIRD'S Only 2 more sleeps and a short speech to write. Can we leave NOW?? How much longer? Did you go pee before we go? Have you got your passport? Did you bring some money honey? Is the tank full? Did you check the AC? Are we there yet? Does that tire look right? Do you know how to get there???? dud,, I was there last week just to make sure!!!! Have you got clean socks and..........never mind, won't need it!! Don't forget your tooth brush!!!! When will you be back? Did you leave me some money?
  22. Thanks guys,,, but enough already,,, Dave wasn't perfectly honest,,,,,,so the rest of the story. Dave said his fuel pump wasn't working and he had to hammer it (well I can exaggerate) to make it go. He had bought new points but was leery about the install, didn't like soldering. I offered to help,,, ya right,I had ask where the pump was located, no biggie there, somebody told me. Should be easy enough to get out with a decent size banger and long pry bar. So he shows up Monday eve after work and I set to work,,, uhhh learning about fuel pumps. Got the little sucker out without too much cussing and got it up on the bench,,, so far so good,,,,darn, and he is still watching,,, doesn't he ever have to go pee or something???? well never mind, we carry on, tear the lid off this baby, and low and behold as mentioned in the thread, there is a set of points all burnt to rat stuff. I check to make sure that the new set matches the old set,,, got to look professional you know,,, they seemed to look similar, so the install went as planned,,, almost,,,, a little wee bit of solder managed to make it to a place of ill repute and so when I plugged the pump into the scoot it immediately blew a fuse,,, not a good omen,,,, gosh, now I have to find the fuse box,, another lesson for the old man I'm learning things here, almost like going to school. Well to keep along story longer, I found the solder, fixed that and then before blowing another fuse ($1 ea, and I'm Dutch) I thought I would bench test this doodad. Another lesson in the making,,, there is a positive and a negative wire to these pumps and never the twain should interchange. Really,,, ya really,,, just for good measure we tried it with another one (Brad's) and sure enough, it did the same thing,,, kicked the bucket!! That's 2 out of 2,,, not a good average! So I felt kind of responsible for having Dave put out,,, first sending him home without a fuel pump and then having him get stuck on the way back. He now has a nice working fuel pump that still needs to be located better, but it works. It cost him the points and a deal with BradT and he's happy, and I had something to do yesterday,,, and oh Ya,, I think I learned something,,,can't remember what that was now, but it will come to me in the long term I think.
  23. Don't need a mirror at those breakneck speeds do ya??? Nice for Tippy!
  24. Darn,,, now who is going to show me where to go??? and I didn't say 'tell' on purpose.
  25. Something that the Nigerians have no thought of, and couldn't possibly know, is the actual act of reverting. It's not very well defined in the English dictionary,, if it can be found at all, but can be found in the Dutch\English version of what is called a dictionary. In my edition as well as maybe some others, revert indicates a swamping or wetting action. Not sure just how easy this is to accomplish, but to have a body of water close handy would definitely be of a bonus to those involved in reverting. As I dug into this somewhat deeper, it seems that the practise comes from late in the middle ages when it was more normally known as dunking. As you may also be aware, or on the other hand be totally oblivious of the fact, the upcoming events on the forthcoming weekend present at least one of the required components that are needed for a reverting action to take place, that being water. Whether or not then, this dunking of a revertee(another one of the components) will actually happen, will be a sight to be seen. Don't hold your breath though, only time will tell. As such it could be an interesting sight.
