  1. Wow!!!!!!!!!! Looks like our camera-man is back to work!!! Thanks Phil!! AWESOME!!
  2. In my thinking,,,, watts is power consumed and and lumens is light output. Then there is a difference between reflectors and placement of light source in regards to the reflector. Further there is color temperature to be aware of, some color shines better and further than others. Put that altogether and you got me confused for sure.
  3. Just goes to show ya, you seem to like supper as well,,,, maybe real well!
  4. Some,,, or lately a lot,,, of people think they can get famous by posting on the internet,,,, some!!
  5. One thought maybe to do a deep research on the Canam Spyder. I have yet to talk to a Spyder rider who says that he or she should not have done it. They are a hoot of fun and easy to deal with. Do get a 2014 or newer though, you would be happier. If you have long legs then the F3 would be the ultimate choice. Keep in mind that you do not have the same body you had when you were 40 and formed your mind on things of the future, you are getting older and things tend to change a bit quicker so plan ahead, not in reverse.
  6. Will ask the Great Physician for a speedy recovery. Blessings!
  7. So what time is the coffee ready?
  8. Were there instructions included in the package? Wasn't it supposed to cover more than the cleavage? You might need a second opinion on this, looks kind of skimpy really.
  9. Crap!!! I just seen this post, guess I would be too late iffin I leave now. Well I guess I'll have to take Marca's offer of steak for supper,,,, tube steaks that is.
  10. Notice that Dad is doing the driving!
  11. Never mind the MC, question is: what are you doing in Ontario without prior warning? Are we being invaded?
  12. You had best stay in Ohio, my cost for the Spyder alone is $1200 and change, and that is CDN!!
  13. Guess you'll have to make up your own mind, but things do change, sometimes for the better and sometimes the other way. ME? I think I would sit tight on the decision for a few months. I am quite in the same boat as we didn't ride all that much this summer. Some of that had to do with the weather, some with what ever else kept us busy, some of it deals with Marca's health. A feller wonders if the insurance cost is worth it or if the funds can be put to use somewhere else to be more effective. Yep, it's your situation and yours to decide, but for me, I figure if I would only put on a couple of thousand it would still probably be worth keeping, seeing as I already have it. Now, if I didn't have a scoot at this time, I don't think I would go to buy one,,,maybe! So, blessings in your thoughts and decision.
  14. If you can help out, it would please my 2 daughters greatly. We have 2 daughters and they are planning a trip out to the Canadian East coast, Oct 05 to 17th. Heather has 2 great kids, 9 and 6 yrs old and Allison is single, training to be an RN and does mission work. Both daughters are in their mid 30's. Heather home schools her kids. All 4 are easy to get along with, and their two kids you will comment on for a long time. They are trying to do this on a shoe-string budget and meet some people along the way. They have their own food and bedding including mattresses, so all they are looking for is shelter, and of course it would be nice to meet the folks local. They would also like some input on places to see and visit other than tourist traps, so you can have input into this Venture even if you can't help out with lodging. Hoping to have some help from you all. Carl
  15. Congrats to both of you. Don,,,, you best keep practicing on that 2nd gen. Soon Eileen will get used to that machine and you'll wonder what happened. You'll be looking in the rear-view to see if she's ok, but she'll be only visible if you use a pair of binoculars to look ahead. Ride safe you 2
  16. Congrats Don & Eileen, hope you have loads of fun. Keep in mind that not all acc for a 12 will fit a 14 n up. Spyder should ride straight on it's own, if it twitches, it needs an alignment, if it doesn't track the corners properly it's needs an alignment. Lots of people don't like these machines because they get tired when riding them and that will happen if the alignment is out, and then they sell them prematurely. I made a laser setup and it works awesome. My 1330 gets just slightly less gas mileage than a V4, fact is last Sunday I got a little bit better than Saddlebum. Yes, back brakes wear fast, keep an eye on them. All that plastic, is not so bad. It takes time on a Venture as well,,, only thing is, to do an oil change there is a bit of work and time.
  17. Darn, he's catching up again, guess I'd better plan to have another as well. Happy Birthday Dan, may you be blessed in the year ahead.
  18. Yes, she does exist, I have seen her in person,,,, well at least I think it was her,, well maybe, just maybe the neigbour lady gives Phil instructions.
  19. Looks good Don, hoping that Eileen falls in love with it. Tell her to ride it, ride it and then ride it some more. It's going to take a little getting used to, but once that starts there ain't no end in sight. Hope you know how to make supper, do the floors, clean the windows, make the bed, go shopping, laundry and do your regular work in-between. So where is Eileen?????? OUT RIDING!!!!
  20. One more note: The Spyder we borrowed from Pioneer some years back, the one you rode as well, lost it's muffler shortly after starting out. Now I noticed the license plate is hanging off the one in the picture. Maybe not a good sign. And thanks guys, I don't eat as much as some as my belt is a smaller size than some others that I have met, and a MD wouldn't be so bad, I think Don might be ready for a break.
  21. Thanks Phil, even Phathom made it into the thread.
  22. Hey, we could set up a M&G while your here, just any reason will do eh? I'll see about FB, Marca does it, I don't. That Dodge looks nice!!
  23. That was a long time ago, Don, that you rode a Spyder. You probably shorten up a little since then. The 2010 has the 990 engine, 2 cylinder and vibrates some. To us at the time when we test rode it, same day and unit as you did, it was a no player and was not attractive. In 2014 they came out with the 1330, 3 cyl and we bought that. There is some vibration at start up, but soon smooths out. We really like it:happy65:. It has a lot of pluses: One brake, no kick stand, stable, a hoot in the corners, lots of power, gravel friendly, except for belt issues, cheaper tires, low heat radiation, 10,000km oil changes (2014 went to 15,000) easy steering as opposed to a trike (diminishing power assisted). Downsides: expensive parts, not easy for oil changes, Kenda tires are junk, engine vibration (990), storage on the RS model, seat isn't the greatest for a long haul, 4.5 inch ground clearance, mirrors aren't in the greatest location for 2up, but they work. You will need a 6' wide trailer, 8'long. Because of low clearance you need a long ramp or a hill to help out. Not only will the center get stuck, the nose is also a pain to load. Rotax is known to be a very good unit, at least the reputation of the V4. Personally I would go for an RT and 2014 or later to get the 3 cylinder. Nope, would not go back to 2 wheels, just to much fun on these. Things to look for. Kenda tires are junk, they don't last long, so if it has Kendas plan on new skins soon, use Kumos, General, Koyo. It should track straight, on the straights and not twitchy in the corners or it will need an alignment. Belt will vibrate if tension is off. It should have an idler installed about half way. The earlier models have a much higher tension spec and tend to take out the engine end bearing. Later they lowered the tension setting and seems to be better. That's all I can think of right now.
  24. I happened to know where a feller might find a real pretty blue one.
  25. AAALLLL RIGHT. Sounds like a REAL good idea. Thanks
