  1. Yep, got it JB, and Rockets too.....
  2. Yep, I also have State Farm for all my cars and home... 30years... and the rates are reasonable, but when I called them about adding my first '83VR I got 'electrocuted'.... I won't go into the details, but just say that I felt violated... Got on the web, found Progressive, and got an immediate full coverage yearly quote for a tenth of what SF wanted for just Liability for 6 months. Cool!! Then I visited Geico's website and applied for a quote and although I didn't get an immediate reply in a few hours I had a return email with the amount. Again full coverage for the whole year. It beat Pro by about $40 bucks. And the first and second renewal premiums actually went down... Right now I paying $400 bucks a year for complete coverage on 2 my bikes... 83 and 91, and that includes un-insure AND under-insured coverage. I think it's a hell of a deal..... I might also add that the coverage is for 300/100/300.
  3. Looks like it Brad.... HUH?? I'm going to keep Squeeze busy updating the list until 1800hrs PDT today, and then switch to Paypal mode. I crunched the numbers, and for those members in the US the total will be $61.50 delivered. For those members in Canada the delivered price will be $71. Anyone wanting to send their payment, after reading this, now is no problem. When sending your payment by paypal indictate black or aluminum for a color choice, and don't forget to include your board 'handle'. It's a bear trying to figure out who sent what, when I have to play detective and go back into the members list to cross reference. So including your board name makes life so much easier..... The paypal Email address to use for payments is paypal@cast-aways.com Also.... if your shipping address is different than your paypal address please add it to the comments box on the paypal form.
  4. If you already have one this is whre it'll help: reduces speed wobbles, fork flex, front tire wear and rain groove sensitivity while improving overall handling and front-end stability. You need to get that puppy on and go ride....
  5. Got it Kevin. Thanks
  6. 5 so far, however there were a couple of members who said they'd be sending checks.
  7. It's definately aftermarket John. Not sure if it's a Super Brace??
  8. Just to make it short and sweet I gleaned this off the Super Brace site. reduces speed wobbles, fork flex, front tire wear and rain groove sensitivity while dramatically improving overall handling and front-end stability.
  9. If all works out, it could be done Carl. It would be up to you to figure out who's doing the M&E, and are on the list. Any money saved on shipping this way would have to be refunded after the fact because of the prepay. I don't want to get into a logistics problem, but just let me know and I'll try my best to get'r done.....
  10. BUMP!!!!!
  11. I'll be getting back to all of those on the list with all the payment details and color choice Brad. I like the black one too. The '91 already has a bare aluminum on it, and it's coming off in lieu of the black. The '83 and the '87 are running bare..... 17 more for the $50 dollar level.... Think we can make it?
  12. Thanks for the insight Rick. I think by now most of the fork covers have disintigrated on the 90-93's. I have a set of really neat fork covers on the '91 that Black Owl made for me. Super Brace has the same part number for all the 1stGen years, so I think they presumed the fork covers had become toast too. I've run into a plastic plug somewhere?? that would also make a great rain water protector. Jack

  14. It gets the front forks to act in unison for better performance. Hand in there Jim. I'm going to talk to them and see about making them for the 2gen...if they even need them??? Researching.....

  16. I just fired off a PM to Freebird about the possibility of spamming the 1stGen members to drum up more interest. Here's where I'm coming from. I don't make a dime on the group buys, and in one case, like last years Odyssey, I actually lost a couple of bucks. But that's not the point. The point is that I'm not loaded, and in the case of these fork braces, I can't just go out on a limb and tie up $1200 to $2000 by buying 20 or 40 braces and then turn around and make them available to members over an extended period of time trying to recoupe. If it were a business investment, where I'm making a profit, that would be another story, but it's not. Again, I don't mind doing it, but would need some sort of assurance that my investment dollars would be back in the fold as quickly as possible. Don't get me wrong. I do enjoy doing this for the members. So, tell your fellow 1stGen riders and spread the word. If we get close to the 40 we'll all save another $10 bucks!!! AND.... Mark just sent me a pic of the brace in black anodized. Pic attached. Anyone want black?? I'm taking one for the '91...
  17. Sounds like you're missing the copper exhaust gaskets that fit between the muffler and the collector. Kinda pricey at around 15-17 bucks per. If that's your problem and you can wait, the best price would be from that Yamaha dealer in Seattle, but if your in a hurry bite the bullet and visit your local dealer.... I've found an aftermarket gasket that works fairly well from a local independant. A little cheaper. Instead of copper it's what looks like a leaden mixture. Anyway it's lasted a couple of years so far.
  18. I've only dropped a bike once... OK twice if you want to count the slide thru that intersection back in my early 20's... The only thing you can do is try to make it a controlled drop. Forget about trying to muscle it back up once it decides to go down. If you're able to soften the impact and let 'er down easy, generally nothing's gonna get busted except your ego...
  19. Hey, Since you started it I just thought you were trying to help out a bit. My bad. Sorry... Adding a name to the list by using the quote works for me......
  20. Squeeze, you are officially designated 'keeper of the list'.....
  21. LOL Thanks Ed.... I wonder who would have done that....
  22. Thanks Dan, I'm feeling a little more confident about ordering 20 of these puppies. I'm going to see how many actually express an interest the rest of today and tomorrow. With my 2 we're up to around 9...I think??
  23. Could be Brad, but I don't recall ever having seen a post about it???
  24. Yeah.... I've already seen yours. Looks great... But......where's the pics???
