  1. I would be in 4th till at least 65mph its been so long I dont remember the rpms Craig
  2. Hey congrats, that looks exactly like my first venture. It was a great bike liked everything about it but the seat ht. I am sure you will enjoy many miles and good times with your partner:thumbsup2: Craig
  3. Very interesting write-up have often thought of fogging the bikes, always fogged the Sea-Doos. Might just give them a shot in each carb this year. Thanks, Craig
  4. Congrats! Sounds like you did your job and did it well. You and your wife will get closer then ever and the girls will spread their wings and fly... Craig
  5. Hopefully she is not banged up too badly? Hope we get more info soon. In our thoughts, Craig
  6. Looks great Lewis, really in nice shape! Think I would have a hard time getting rid of it if it was mine. Figure out what you need to get for it and auction it off for St Judes, $20 a ticket for 100 tickets. I would be in for 5! Craig
  7. One thing to add if as you say your 87 is the most beautiful Venture and is in very good to excellent shape, I am sure it is worth more then the Madura. Unless the Madura is absolutely showroom perfect it wouldnt be worth what your 87 is. In perfect cond. he would be lucky to get $3K. Anything less then perfect $1500 to $2K I dont know why but they dont get big $$$ for them. They are great trouble free bikes, handle great and go like hell. If you found the 117hp Dyno run online it was my bike. Craig
  8. I have an 85 Madura I bought brand new and its still sitting in my garage. It is an awesome bike! but it is not a long range touring bike. Liter, more agile, very, very fast! Next to no maint. if you find one well taken care of. There is an excellent Madura site with guys that know them inside out and there are most parts avail. from members and ebay. The biggest setback is the joke they will pass everything but a gas station. Depending on your rite wrist you are looking at 80-110 miles a tankful. Guys have even modified tanks to get them up to 5 gal. or use a tourtank. If you ride 2 up your partner aint gonna be near as happy on that back seat. Any questions fire away. If you want a super fast sleeper to have fun on, and an occasional long weekend riding solo you could put a shield and some bags to make it work. I took mine to Laconia Bike week in NH quite a few times. Craig
  9. Had a Black 650 Maxim, it was a great bike, those inline fours are smooth as a sewing machine. Took it up to Laconia Bike week many years ago, ran great never a problem. Looks like you did an awesome job of bringing her back to life, your grandson just mite want that one, great starter bike! Craig
  10. Great pics, you definetly had it leaned over tight in that one turn! Thanks, Craig
  11. Sounds like a labor of love, hard to put a price on that. Craig
  12. Been following this from the beginning Bob, unfortunately all I can offer is moral support. These guys forgot more about Ventures then I will ever know. Hoping you can get it figured out and back on the road soon. Will just really be curious to see what happened. Craig
  13. Happy Bday Ben, very cool pic:thumbsup2: Ya gotta get that one framed! Craig
  14. Ya know us old folks do put our shirts on backwards some time:nanner: Craig
  15. Wonder if 3 of them across the back would get the front wheel of the trike about 3 ft off the ground? Now that would be cooool! Craig
  16. Right there is what its all about! Great Pics, Thanks! Craig
  17. Pretty wild??
  18. Well that sux, but glad you easily found a place to pull over. Hopefully its the pump cause its an easy fix. Good Luck, Craig
  19. Does your bike have aftermarket pipes? Mine would do it with Sampson Fishtails, put RK pipes on and no more backfire. Craig
  20. Beautiful! If you look hard enuff, they are still out there. Great find, enjoy it. Craig

    Pipes

Had the RK slash cuts on my 06 RSV, I liked the look as the slash flows on the same line as the bags, and they had a nice mellow tone that got deeper with age. Like someone said I had more money in the clamps then I paid for the pipes. Good Luck, Craig
  23. Thanks Don, was not aware that Kevin had passed. Thoughts go out to his family at this difficult time. Unfortunately I cant remember ever meeting Kevin, sounds as tho it was my loss. RIP Kevin. Craig
  24. Had the Samson fishtails on my RSV they looked awesome and the chrome is beautiful. They were too loud for me, bet if you look around you can find a pretty good deal on a used set. Both bikes look sweet, would love to have that harley front wheel on my trike! When my health gets alittle better need to get together for a ride, Allentown is only about 40mins from me. Craig
  25. As our ole pal Dan would say "try some seafoam" RIP Dan Craig
