I just spent about 5 hours on the seat today. I think it is better than the stock seat but I was ready to get off. I don't hurt in my backside like I did with the stock seat. I need to ride it some more this week before I decide to keep it for sure. I'm leaning towards keeping it. Dennis

While the seat looks like it is shaped similarly to the stock seat, there is a definite ridge at the back and it causes you to set more forward, about and inch or more. The effective shape is very similar to this Mustang Tour Deluxe seat. The backrest can be adjusted out of the way. Dennis

Ok, Finally, after delayed shipment and wrong shipments I've finally received the seat. It seems very well made. I put it on tonight and rode a few miles. It is different. A little firmer and it pushes me forward about an inch more than I like. If I can get used to that it will be a keeper. Attached are some photos. If you want to see the photos in really high resolution here are links to them. www.traynorphoto.com/mustang-1.jpg www.traynorphoto.com/mustang-2.jpg www.traynorphoto.com/mustang-3.jpg www.traynorphoto.com/mustang-4.jpg www.traynorphoto.com/mustang-5.jpg www.traynorphoto.com/mustang-6.jpg Dennis

Yeah, literally. A real "pain in the A**"

Still no photos. After fighting with UPS for 2 days my shipment was finally delivered around 6:30 tonight. Unfortunately, they sent me a seat for a Roadliner/Stratoliner even though the enclosed packing list clearly stated the order was for a Venture seat. Maybe I'll get a decent seat in time for my trip next month. Dennis

Thanks Joe, Great photos. I like this one.... Dennis

Thanks Mark, the photos are a good way to re-live the weekend in my mind. Now I know Donna took a bunch of photos. Where are they? Dennis

Sorry no photos tonight. UPS has screwed up again and didn't deliver the seat as scheduled. When I called to inquire about the delivery they promised it would be here tonight. 10 minutes later they rescheduled the delivery. They do this to me all the time. I think our route drive is just too lazy to get the job done. That's why I will not ship with UPS if there is an alternative. Hopefully photos tomorrow. Dennis

I know a lot of folks like the Butler mod but it just didn't work for me. It felt as though I were sitting on the frame. So after the mod I bought a new stock seat and was good again. After a season on that it felt like I was back on the frame again. For me I just think the foam breaks down in the stock seat after a season and doesn't provide the needed support. In the showroom the seats on a new Venture feels great. Dennis

I hope to do that tomorrow evening. Dennis

Not yet. It's due here tomorrow. Eck is going to stop by on his way to MD or lunch on Wed and he'll get a chance to check it out. I'll ask him to give you a report when he get's there. Dennis

Just replaced the Adjure lights with Vstar passing lamps
Midrsv replied to Midrsv's topic in Watering Hole
That's correct. The reason they differ from the Venture lights is because the switch is built into one of the housings. I just wired it so that I bypassed the switch and continued to use the one in my fairing. The Yamaha mounts worked fine. About a 15 minute job to change them. Dennis -
Thanks for the tip. Just ordered 7 cans. That seemed to be the sweet spot on shipping, $11.99 for 7 cans. That works out to less than $12/can which beats the $16 to $19 dollars dealers around here want. DT

A while back I wanted to switch from the sealed beam to halogen lights for my passing lamps. The solution I chose was the $20 set of Adjure lenses, actually 2 sets since I cracked the first one. Later the I cracked another and decided it was time to for a better upgrade. I chose to order the Vstar halogen lamps and installed them tonight. Wow, what an improvement over the Adjure. The were bright when I first installed them but after installing the first Vstar lamp and comparing them it was clear that the Adjures and yellowed or fogged because it was very dim when compared to the Vstar. If you are running the Adjure lamps you might check them. Dennis

When you say the vinyl doesn't match, is it the color or texture that is different? From the photos that I've seen it looks like the color may not be as dark. Dennis

No, unfortunately I won't be there. How will you be going to Don's? Any chance you are coming up I-75 through KY? If so, I could plan to meet you somewhere? Dennis

No Harry, that is not the seat. There are photos in this thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=47760&highlight=mustang The seat isn't in their catalog yet. Dennis

After trying the Butler mod and a $350 rework of the stock seat and a new stock seat and still not satisfied I decided to try Mustang. I ordered the non-studded version with backrest for $670 delivered. They offer a 10 day return policy so I'll be able to try it out thoroughly before I keep it. They had 3 more in stock after my order. I should have it by next Tuesday and I'll provide a review after I've tried it out. Dennis

Sorry, I fat-fingered there. Try this http://www.traynorphoto.com/venturerider/

Come on up. Danville is a nice community. I live about 25 miles from Danville and I took the VR group through Danville last weekend. There is great riding in any direction you go from Danville. Check out www.traynophoto.com/venturerider Those are photos from last weekend. Let me know when you get to the area. Dennis

Great photos Steve. Thanks for posting. Dennis

Guys, Thanks for the applause. The weekend would have been nothing without the fine folks in attendance. We hope to do it again next year. Now, where are the photos? Dennis
