  1. Thanks for all of the replies. If it weren't the weekend I would fix it myself. But around here all of the suppliers are closed so I can't get a motor. I tried. It was a bit hot sleeping last night and if it doesn't get fixed today we'll be in a hotel tonight. The motor is to be installed later this morning. I know I'm getting raw deal. Eddie, sure wish you had a shop here. Dennis
  2. I'm certain I could install the motor. The problem is finding a motor on the weekend. I figure I'm getting ready to pay premium to be cool on the weekend. Dennis
  3. Well I've already paid $60 to get them out here. He quoted $600 for the motor and put it in tomorrow. I just confirme that it includes labor. I did call 2 more local companies and got prices of $550 and $675. Looking at the Grainger web site I think I could buy a motor for less than $150. I know the company needs to make a profit so I think $400 including labor would still be high. It's hot here and if I don't get it replaced tomorrow it will probably cost me a couple of nights in a hotel. Dennis
  4. I came home today and my furnace (a/c) blower motor was humming an smoking. Called for service and the tech says I need a new motor. $600 for a 1/3 HP 115v motor. That seems high to me. Is that reasonable? Dennis
  5. Based on the number on the first page of Ecks document and the number of pages I would estimate a little over 1300. I looked in a GPX file that I had and it was over 1300 also. But that may include Yamaha marine only dealers also. Dennis
  6. I've posted all of the photos under one link. It is: http://www.traynorphoto.com/glacier_2012
  7. We made it home today after riding 440 miles in great weather. In summary, we travelled 4976 miles and stopped 39 times for gas. I used 142 gallons and averaged 35.04 mpg pulling the trailer. We shot over 4350 photographs. The SPOT site has been viewed 1350 times since we left and I've attached the completed track here. Larry snapped a few more shots today and I've placed them on the web at: www.traynorphoto.com/glacier_7_28 In a few days I plan to consolidate all of the daily photo pages into a single link. When I do I'll post the link. I hope you've enjoyed riding along with us. We're already thinking about next year. It's good to be home!
  8. We covered about 650 miles today and made it to North Platte, NE. We dropped my wife at the airport in Jackson at 6:00 this morning and I'm closer to home than she is. Delta screwed the day up royally. Her 9:00 AM flight had mechanical trouble and to make a long story short, Delta put her up at the Radisson in Salt Lake City after screwing around for 6 hours. Delta customer service sucked. Keep in mind that I have all of her stuff with me. She only carried what she thought she needed on the plane. Fortunately, she had her phone charger. We hope to get to somewhere close to Columbia MO tomorrow and she hopes to get home. www.traynorphoto.com/glacier_7_26 Dennis
  9. We spent the day today around Jackson WY. Rode through the Grand Teton National Park and rode over to Teton Village and rode the tram to the top of the mountain. a 4,000 ft elevation change. We're dropping my wife at the airport in the morning and turning east for home. Should be home Saturday. www.traynorphoto.com/glacier_7_25 http://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=4e6e4ff8a01b0feb1
  10. First, I have to appologize to Teri and Erv for not calling them. I have not other excuse other than I just forgot. We checked into the hotel and immediately started working on a load of laundry and it slipped my mind. I'm old you know. Anyway, we made it to Jackson, WY today. It was a 235 mile trip and we discovered that there was a stretch of about 130 miles with no gas. We ran upon a 1 pump general store about 90 miles south of Salmon and thought we were safe until we found out they ran out of gas yesterday. We managed to make it to the next gas about 30 miles on down the road and we had about 30 miles of range left. We were also surprised by how desolate that part of Idaho is. We're staying 2 nights in Jackson and we plan to ride through the Teton National Park tomorrow. Dennis www.traynorphoto.com/glacier_7_24 http://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=4e6e4ff8a01b0feb1
  11. We had a good, leisurely ride today down us93 from Kalispel to Salmon, ID. It was a very pretty ride. Our hotel room overlooks the Salmon River where we've been watching rafters go by. On to Jackson Hole tomorrow. http://www.traynorphoto.com/glacier_7_23
  12. We made it through Glacier National Park today and are in Kalispel tonight. What a ride. The Going to the Sun Road needs to be at the top of everyone's bucket list. On to Salmon, ID tomorrow. www.traynorphoto.com/glacier_7_22 http://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=4e6e4ff8a01b0feb1 Dennis
  13. We made it to East Glacier today and took a ride up to Two Medicine Lake before dinner. Incredible! Riding across the Going to the Sun road tomorrow. www.traynorphoto.com/glacier_7_21 Dennis
  14. We made it to Great Falls, MT tonight. Great ride up through the Lewis and Clark Forest. We ran into some Wing riders in White Sulfer Springs and they had ridden on a road that was being repaved with a bypass around a bridge and through the river bed. The dual-sport BMW guys don't have anything on these guys. The wings were encrusted in mud. We saw them after lunch and they were all shiny again after going to the car wash. On to East Glacier tomorrow. http://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=4e6e4ff8a01b0feb1 www.traynorphoto.com/glacier_7_20
  15. I just placed a 15 minute video of part of our ride across Beartooth yesterday. Not great quality and sound but it gives you a sense of the area. [ame] [/ame] Dennis
  16. What a great day. We rode over Chief Joseph Highway to Cooke City and then back over Beartooth to Red Lodge and on to Columbus for the night. Words can't descirbe the views. http://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=4e6e4ff8a01b0feb1 For photos go to www.traynorphoto.com/glacier_7_19 Dennis
  17. We made it to Cody today after stopping in Billings to pick up my wife. It was a long day made longer by the extreme heat. 98 to100 degrees. I think we were all beginning to suffer some dehydration about 20 miles from Cody. We stopped and each got rehydrated. We had a great meal in Cody at the Wyoming Rib and Chop house. I highly recommend the fillet. The real fun starts tomorrow with a ride over Chief Joseph Highway and Beartooth Pass. SPOT data: http://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=4e6e4ff8a01b0feb1 and a few photos are at: www.traynorphoto.com/glacier_7_18
  18. I know. We rode over Beartooth in '07 and I'm looking forward to it again. We'll hit and Chief Joseph tomorrow. I've not been on Chief Joseph yet and I'm looking forward that also. Dennis
  19. Made it to Bismarck late this afternoon after 620 miles. Much better ride today with cooler temperatures and cloud cover. We rode the last 15 miles in a light rain. On to Billings and Cody tomorrow. Dennis http://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=4e6e4ff8a01b0feb1
  20. Your wife will love the back seat on the RSV. It has much more room than the HD. About the same as my Goldwing but my wife still prefers the comfort of the Venture over the GW. Dennis
  21. We made it to Tomah WI tonight, 682 miles and it was flippin hot. 99 degrees all afternoon and humid. I thought it was supposed to be cool up north. Here is our SPOT track http://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?id=4e6e4ff8a01b0feb1 We've already got reservations in East Glacier. The Mountain Pine lodge or something like that. And in Salmon we'll be at the Stagecoach Inn. Teri I'll try to give you a call when I get to Salmon. Dennis
  22. I and 3 of my riding buddies are heading west again tomorrow. We're headed to Glacier National Park via Cody Wy and Chief Josepht Highway, Beartooth Pass and Red Lodge. Here is a link to our approximate route: https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=209345560562245148088.0004c40c214cc5ab7ecae&msa=0 We'll be making the big loop in a counter clockwise direction. So if you see 3 Goldwings and a Tour Deluxe going down the road give us a shout or a wave. Dennis
  23. The road over Lolo Pass is 212, not 12. I rode across it last year from Belle Forche to Aberdeen. Both roads are great though. http://www.traynorphoto.com/WC2011/content/IMG_0743_large.html Dennis
  24. I think you would probably be OK in May if you are going westward. I rode west from Belle Forche last June with no problem and we didn't even see snow on the sides. I don't that the elevation at the summit is only 5200 feet. Here is a photo link of the Lolo Pass visitor center. http://www.traynorphoto.com/WC2011/content/IMG_0743_large.html Dennis
  25. Think what you will, but I will go with my experiences. I've used Dynabeads for about 5 years and 8 or so sets of tires and I think they are great. I have 3 riding buddies that have also been using them for about 4 years and all agree that they work. On the Wing I have since switched to Centramatics and if I were to it again I wouldn't have bought them. The Dynabeads were just as good and a lot cheaper. Dennis
