Happy Bird Day everybody. Gonna eat way too much and take my daughter deer hunting.

Saturday my wife and I packed up the RSV and loaded the trailer with fishing gear, then headed South from the Orlando area via US 441. Weather was rainy until we got about halfway around Lake Okeechobee. Once we got on US 27 the sun came out for the rest of our ride to Key Largo. The next day we just hung out and fished behind the hotel with some not so shrimpy live shrimp for bait. Caught nothing, I suspect because the bait was bigger than the fish. 😒 But my wife did make a new friend. 🤣 After a "hard" day fishing, we went out to the Islamorada Fish Company for dinner and caught the sunset. The next day was a ride to Key West, the Shipwreck Museum, lunch, the Aquarium and the Southernmost Point before heading back to the hotel in Key Largo. Weather was nice, if a bit windy crossing the bridges on a bike. Tuesday we packed up and headed home via a quicker route: The Turnpike and I-95. This was the first trip we had taken with the trailer that we bought off Craigslist earlier this year. I was very impressed with the way the RSV handled two-up, loaded down and pulling a trailer. Even at 80 mph the only way I could tell I was towing a trailer was by looking in the mirror. The bike didn't handle any different whatsoever. All in all it was a nice long weekend getaway.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, Its a strange year and there are a lot of us out there that are going to miss the company of family, We are still going to make the best of as we can. We can only hope that this will be gone next year and we can all be together and it be that much more special. Orlin and Sharon

Finished up the rear caliper rebuild this afternoon. Here are a couple of pics.

Had the 130 on my 2007 RSV for 6 years and would never go back. The difference in low speed handling and lightness of the steering in twisties is nothing short of amazing. In a high cross wind the 150 makes the bike feel like it is solid and only requires on hand on the bars. Same wind with 130 front and it takes two hands. Riding with 150 and hands off I was able to ride for miles without touching the bars, with 130 I need to keep one hand on the bars ( which I should be anyway! ) One time when my wife was on the back I rested one elbow on her knee like usual on long freeway stretches. This time after a few minutes ( when I had the 150) I rested my other elbow on her other knee - no hands. Took her about 10 seconds to communicate her displeasure, but the bike was tracking like a Tesla on autopilot. When riding solo, I would be hands off for long periods. Not so at all with the 130. With the 150 front at the end of 30 miles of twisties your arms will be pumped. with the 130- at the end of 30 miles of twisties you will be wanting more twisties. IMHO VentureFar...

I switched from a factory sized 150 to a 130 last summer. This is how the bike should handle, IMO. It is a little more prone to wind shear, particularly when leaned over in a sweeper, but it's not so bad that it makes me regret the incredible improvement in low speed handling - both precision and lightness of feeling at the bars.

I changed out the stock 150/80-16 tire for a 130/90-16 tire last tire change and it handles a little better at slower speeds but I think the 150 did just a little better at highway speeds. This tire has about 12K on it now, the difference to me was not enough to go out of may way to get one over the other.

I think everybody runs a 130 on the front and likes it very well. I do.

At least I get to sit in the living room where it is nice and warm and watch the better half out there doing the shoveling of SNOW for a change.......

WAY back when this ethanol in the gas first started, there was a hotline to call with questions and concerns. At the time they claimed there would be no difference in fuel mileage. I called the hotline and was told that there is no difference, it is a simple matter of ME not knowing how to do basic math, even after I pointed out that I am an engineer and am quite capable of calculating gas mileage. their next response is that you can not just go by the result of a single tank. I then pointed out that I have a log book where every fuel fill is recorded and tracked. I was told that there must be errors in my recorded data. I tried to explain that the simple laws of physics say that IF you use a fuel with 50% less energy per gallon then you will get 50% less work done and that means half of the fuel mileage. I was then told that the laws of physics do not apply here because they are only using 10% ethanol.......? I did all of this on speaker phone and the whole engineering department was ROFLOL.

I am home now, This one really hurts a LOT. The nerve block has now worn off and the pain pills are not doing much.
