Dale124 Posted February 8, 2013 Share #1 Posted February 8, 2013 I was just wondering if you folks that own a Royal Star Venture would buy another one if tomorrow you woke up and found your bike was gone, never to be seen again. Or would you perhaps look into other options? Dale

DarkLeftArm Posted February 8, 2013 Share #4 Posted February 8, 2013 No question. Best deal going on a touring bike, and Just the fact that venturerider.org exists is icing on that cake!

Wade 2000 Posted February 8, 2013 Share #8 Posted February 8, 2013 Yepper! There is only 1 other bike I would consider and being the cheapskate I am I'd end up with another RSV. There are more Technologically advanced bikes and My fingers are crossed for a updated version of the RSV. That being said...Power, comfort, reliability, and style. What more could you want? And VR... Bonus!!

Caveman Posted February 8, 2013 Share #10 Posted February 8, 2013 In a heartbeat. I love my venture. Hopefully won't need another bike for a long time, but when that time comes, I will look at Yamaha.

M61A1MECH Posted February 8, 2013 Share #13 Posted February 8, 2013 Yes, I came to the Venture after 9 years and 96,000 miles on a 98 Royal Star Tour Classic. After 60,000 miles on the Venture still very happy with the performance, reliabilty and comfort. Love this V-4 platform.
Holly Posted February 8, 2013 Share #14 Posted February 8, 2013 Most definitely would buy another RSV, after talking with co worker that just bought a used 09 ultra classic for 18k, and you don't see another venture every time you turn around, I like that! etcswjoe Posted February 8, 2013 Share #17 Posted February 8, 2013 Depends, were both of them gone or only one? If only one was gone I might wait awhile, if both were gone I definitely would.

Mike G in SC Posted February 8, 2013 Share #19 Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) Yes, would buy another. Same, I don't mind the current (and past) technology. But, I'm a horse trader. Star motorcycles has taught me I can get a whole lot of bike if I buy lightly used. This is a bike I would buy used or old dealer inventory at a very good price. So, the new model coming out in the next year(?), I may buy it when it's a year or two old. EDIT: PS, I also had a Road Star and a Strat during the same time. I want the V4. Squidley Posted February 8, 2013 Share #21 Posted February 8, 2013 I would buy another one, but never a new one again. If I was going to spend the money they want now for a new one, I would seriously look for something else. There are things I dont like about the RSV, the charging system being the biggest thing. Comfort wise it is the best bike I have been on for long trips, but not for close to $20K now ....I know y'all didn't expect that answer out of me did you
CaptainJoe Posted February 8, 2013 Share #22 Posted February 8, 2013 I bought it so I would never have to buy another I all ready have it and it will last till I'm done with it Would I buy another? Absolutely not! At the rate I'm going, 5,000 miles per year, This bike will last me the rest of my life.... The engine if you take care of it will easily take me to 200,000 mi..... So that gives me another 37 years... um... that would make me 91...then I'd probably have to trike it:confused24: Perfect bike for me. That being said, will either keep my 650 vstar or perhaps a buy a 650 enduro to putt around on the dirt and gravel roads... as I like to ride back roads looking for fishing holes and abandoned JD 440 bulldozers. Dale124 Posted February 8, 2013 Author Share #24 Posted February 8, 2013 All those glowing endorsements are great to hear. I can't wait to take possession of mine. It's a wee bit cold and snowy here in Edmonton, so I thought it could sit in the dealers storage until march. It will still be way too early to ride it here, but at least it will be home and I can tinker a bit with it, sit on it, get used to the feel, ect. Thanks, all. kkent66 Posted February 8, 2013 Share #25 Posted February 8, 2013 I will when the time comes! My 2006 has 50K on it and seems to be just broken in - Bike is super comofortable, reliable, and a great value. I am keeping my fingers crossed Yamaha will soon update the RSV!
