What is the single most favorite modification you've made to your bike? Was it a cup holder for your water, or a Dyna 3000, new pipes, LED lighting... trailer hitch? What's the one thing you can't go without, and if you bought a new bike now it would be the first thing you do? For my last bike, for me it was The FAIC pipe I put on it. Had I of known what I know now, I would have done that first thing.. I put pullback risers on it first mod, but it wasn't the best thing I did to it. For this bike, I'm still not sure, but I'm thinking backrest will be the first thing I do, but I doubt in the long run it will be my favorite.

Well i went and done it. I pulled the clutch cover and removed seven friction plates. It appears that the last plate and disc are held in by some sort of retaining ring does anyone know how to remove them. Also i thought i was paying closer attention but i noticed one friction plate has a single square mark instead of the two circular notches like the rest. If any one knows where its supossed to be located this would be helpful. Any help would be great as i only want to pull it once and do it right the first time.

Howdy I'm going to be doing a lot of trout fishing/camping float tubing in our local Sierra lakes. The road are wonderful to bike in with great steady curves in between long expanses. A chap from New Zealand mentioned a single wheeled trailer, UNIGO, that leans with one during curving. Anyone have thoughts or experiences with these single wheels trailers Thanks Nevada Max

Bill forgot to mention that the kids meal will either be chicken strips or they can order off the kids menu from their restaraunt there. We believe the prices are very reasonable and hope as many as possible can attend. If you register as a couple you will receive a small discount. Registrations for a couple will be $75...which includes 2 dinners..2 Tshirts..2 patches..and a name badge Registrations for a single will be $40...1 dinner...1 t-shirt...1 patch..and the name badge. We are starting this very early this year to try to keep some of the last minute stress for us on orders to a minimum ...so please remember that it will be several months before your items will be available. HI all, I've seen sporadic talk in different sections about LED mods. And I've seen that there are plenty of different kits out that can be used very well with both our 1st and 2nd Gen machines. I decided to play around with them looking for a more personal touch and I would like to anyone interested to share ideas with. With the exception of a couple of short neon tubes I will be working with adding presolderded single led's. I just this afternoon received a great big box of "oh wow now what's" so I don't have any projects to show yet. If there is any interest I would be happy to post pics of both good and bad ideas as they roll out. As well as the best sources for single ultra bright led's and supplies. I'm also really interested in hearing about any of your projects either finished or just drawingboard.

Our 89 got 35 mpg riding two up and pulling a medium size trailer. That's running interstate at 70-75 mph. Is this good? Others riding single and two up without trailers got 40-44mpg.All first gens.What do you get towing?

Hi guys and gals.. I'm rather new to the Venture with only 6000 miles in 2 months on my 06 midnight (bought used this july) I have a hitch coming soon and though I wasn't planning on towing anything this year, my friend has started building bike trailers, very nice looking.. 75 lbs, single wheel, fiberglass with a square top lid latch. Looks sharp I must say.. As far as trailers go, is there a preference to towing single wheel over 2 wheels? The only disadvantage to a single wheel trailer, to me, would be when you unhitched it.. how do you support it?! But when pulling these trailers, is there a diff in the handling? I typically ride solo but am also a photographer and would LOVE to haul my lighting system on road trips with the bike instead of taking the cage for this purpose.. I don't camp, hotels are fine for this guy.. sorry ; ) All I would need to do is now find a suitable trailer to hold the lighting system.. I did see a set up that was vertical in nature over the top of the hitch, say big enough for your golf bag etc.. that one looked interesting but exceedingly expensive.. I guess one of those set ups are only limited by the tongue weight? Interesting set up..

It struck me today that whenever anyone brings something up about motorcycle riders, if the person happened to be on a Harley, they say "Harley rider" but whenever it's some other make involved, they generally only say "motorcycle rider" or "guy on a crotch-rocket", etc.... Why not "Yamaha rider" or "Kawasaki rider" or "guy on a Ninja", etc??? Why do we single out certain ones such as "Harley" and not the others? Better yet, why pay so much attention to them...why not put them in the same class as "motorcycle rider"??? awrite... it's pretty obvious.... I'm bored!

Will an 85 wheel fit an 86? Reason I ask, is Lonestarmedic's 86 has a shimmy issue. So, I was thinking if I took my wheel off (tire, rim, disc's, ect... in one piece), can we put it on his to help determine if it is the tire (or whatever) or not. if you are gonna ask, I have the single piston calipers I guess, the older better looking ones. -
I have been looking at some on ebay. Most are either single or dual fire. If one of the two would work on a venture, which one would it be?

I have an 83 Venture.Should I be able to slide the rear wheel under full braking? I know it only has single piston calepers.I can put as mush pressure as I can on the petal and it stops pretty fast,but it wont slide. -
1999 RSV. I just installed the single light BackOff License Plate Frame with single LED. Real easy install. Lights up the rear a little better, but still needs improvement. The wiring is as follows: Bike ----- Plate Yellow----Red This is the Brake Light Blue------White This is the Running Light Black-----Black This is the Ground -
Have any of you replaced your antenna with a 2' antenna? I have studied the Marshal Mod and don't know why a 2' top loaded antenna would not work. I have an 89' VR with a single antenna. I will be interested to hear your experiences. Even 2nd gens, because the cb part works the same, just no splitter. Thanks, Alan..
