  1. On the horn, did you try turning the adjustment screw? Mine didn't work when I bought my RSV and I simply tried to adjust the screw and it freed something up and starting working. Still not very loud but from what I've read here, that's normal for stock horns.
  2. I'd put my name in the hat for those risers! Anyone else have a set they want to get rid of?
  3. You don't mention longer cables or brake lines. Not needed with the risers?
  4. Welcome to the site. Must be a good guy if you ride and bowl!!
  5. I saw a nice, Gold colored 1st gen going north on Delany Rd in Wadsworth, IL at about 4:50 PM. Anyone on the site?
  6. I replaced the picture. Hopefully this shows the broken clasp better.
  7. Thanks for the suggestion. The broken part is plastic and is riveted on the side of the leather saddlebag. The camera on my phone doesn't show it very well.
  8. I bought some used saddle bags for the girlfriend's first bike, a Suzuki GZ 250 and found one of the clasps broken as shown in the picture. It seems to be plastic and looks like the two pieces will fit together tightly. Thought I'd ask for some advise before trying to use super glue. Suggestions??? TIA, Ken
  9. Nice two tone. I want a gauge cluster like that!!
  10. My trailer looks the same but opens from back to front, not side to side, with brackets that hold it in the open position. I've never had it get too flimsy.
  11. You say the backpacker was good behind the bike. Why change anything? Was it just too big? I ask because I have a backpacker but don't have a hitch on my 2nd gen RSV. I've been considering a hitch and pulling the trailer and would like to hear from others that have towed a backpacker. Thanks!
  12. Good one! Maybe we could make some money with that idea!! :rotf:
  13. Thanks for the replies. I'm working on getting her to ride on her own but until then, I need to find another solution...
  14. Anyone have a solution for this problem? My wife is 5' 2", I'm 6'. Even with the existing difference in height of the seats on my 2003 RSV, she can't see over my head. What can we do to enable to her to see down the road without needing to lean to one side or the other? Thanks!
  15. Thanks for the info. I tried the Signet Q on at a motorcycle show this weekend and your are right, it fit perfectly. Now my problem is that I really don't want a full face. I learned a lot at the show talking with various helmet vendors. Based on measurements, I should be wearing a large. The HJC 3/4 helmet I currently wear is a XXL! I guess I really do have a long oval shaped head. I'm still looking and may just use the existing helmet for another season.
  16. I just received this in an email and thought members might appreciate it.
  17. Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can find the ZR1 helmets at the show.
  18. Would this be related to getting a strong gas smell when I wind it out?
  19. I plan on stopping there some weekend. I also just found out the motorcycle show is coming up in Feb. so I should be able to try just about everything available there.
  20. Anyone know of a dealer in the northern Chicago suburb area (Lake County, IL) that has a good selection of modular helmets? I want to try them on before buying. I like the current 3/4 HJC helmet I wear but after a while, my forehead gets sore. I think it should more oblong than round if that makes sense.
  21. Might be related. When I rode my RSV last weekend (45-50 degrees), I had no speedometer, fuel gauge and trip meter. It was a short ride of maybe 8 miles. Once I got home, I turned the key off and back on and now everything worked. I just figured things were cold?
  22. Congrats!! I wish I could say the same
