  1. Had a red 2000 model, Thought it was the best, now I have my second midnite, The cool thing is these were commercially produced. If the red one does not work...there are literally hundreds more to choose from when the time is right. Bill:080402gudl_prv:
  2. you shoulda had some of that winter antifreeze...aka bike parking fluid in ya....that's it, you were just low on parking fluid. Now its time to soak your ailments in alcohol (from the inside) youll be better before ya know it.. Bill:cool10:
  3. I have the leather streamers too, had the same issues with my speed control also. I can push the clutch lever forward and the speed control sets every time. Easy to deal with now that I understand what is happening. Bill
  4. My opinion, go to another locksmith, not a hardware store that cuts keys, but a real locksmith. Bill
  5. Nice, I have a buddy that always says that you have to buy good tools, that way, If you go broke you have something worth selling. I like it. Bill
  6. Good Luck...Had my left medial meniscus done a few years ago, outpatient, walked out on it that day (not very far walk) Follow the Dr orders. God Bless and a speedy recovery. Bill:080402gudl_prv:
  7. Gear ratio can vary from pickup to pickup. This alone can influence mpg dramatically. Might can find it listed on the inside of the glove box or some of them had a tag on the differential. Bill
  8. I do agree with most everything said so far. I often hear how crazy I am for riding, and how I must have a death wish of sorts. My standard answer is----The Bible says "I know the day you come, I know the day you go, I know the number of hairs on your head" With this being said ... I shall not walk in fear of anything, riding included. When my time comes, I go home, It should not matter if I am on a plane, train, big truck, in bed, or out riding. Just know that if I go while riding, I was doing something that I truly enjoy.. Bill
  9. What about using raised forms and put the gravel above grade. With a weed block fabric, vents in the forms(pvc pipe) will allow standing water to flow and dissipate. no soil to remove, less labor, more riding time. Just thinking out loud. Bill
  10. Congrats on the life changes. Happy for you. Keep going. Rome was not built in a day...it was built by the day. You are going the right direction. Bill:cool10:
  11. One up for the utopia. The rsv and rstd mounting brackets are different, as per application. I do have an extra with both brackets I kept of the last bike trade with all the other accessories that I have duplicated through the trades. Bill:cool10:
  12. Your suppose to stop, not park! anyway, you may look into defensive driving or possibly deferred adjudication. This will keep it off your record and insurance. Bill
  13. Great news!!! congrats!!!! Bill:cool10:
  14. I believe the flanders part # is 650-08783 Bill:080402gudl_prv:
  15. For what it is worth I do roam craigs list regularly and I have found a 2001 venture listed for $3,000. It shows under 70 k miles. If one of you is hunting a fair priced gen 2, this may work for you. I do not know how to post links, so go to Lubbock texas craigs list and look under motorcycles. Bill:cool10:
  16. Discontinued production last year because they could not find a suitable manufacturer for the cassette decks. Bill
  17. I got 160 miles in Saturday, Went to White river lake rode around and came home. Temp 65 when I left about 10:30 and 80 when I returned around 4. Sunday temps dropped with frozen sleet and Monday morning was 6 with wind chil at -4. Wow I am happy to have gotten to ride Saturday. Bill
  18. Wow man, that's a big GPS. It looks kinda funny man......
  19. I have had 3 hot springs spas. They have been very trouble free. I did hear hot springs sold out to a different manufacture(used to be Watkins mfg)not sure who has them now. Whatever brand, be sure it has an ozonator. Bill
  20. Congrats, If you are looking for a camper, check the Lubbock, Tx craigs list. There was one on a week or so ago. Best of luck, Happy camping. Bill:080402gudl_prv:
  21. You had better trade up quick, It looks like Smoky and Virginia are looking to retire and sell the shop. Just FYI Bill
  22. Ignition key switches are the same, however they do have different part numbers. This is because the plug is different on the rsv vs the rstd. rstd is red in color and the rsv is white( I think) I have ran a rstd switch on a venture by changing the plastic plug(Removed wires and fitted them into the old rsv plug). There was an ignition switch in the rstd classifieds cheap, last time I looked. Hope this helps. Bill
  23. What about a good ole plasma cutter? Bill
  24. 2006 and earlier do not have the particulate filter, They are a bit louder and do not require the def fluids. They are easy to modify the power, with plug and play modules. I have owned a 99 cummins 2500 std trans 4x4 (edge chip with intake and exhaust mods), and a 06 Harley Davidson F250 4x4 powerstroke (Banks six gun module with intake and exhaust mods). The dodge had unbelievable low end torque, a true work horse of a pickup. The powerstroke crazy fast, however it did not tow as well(my opinion) cummins took 12 quarts of oil to change and the ford took 16 quarts with a $20 filter and you had to use ford oil. That is the regular maintence, and it does add up fast. put lots of miles on both, and enjoyed them both. I did not need eather one, but they were fun. Bill:cool10:
  25. Thanks Jeff, That is great, unfortunately it is probably true. Bill
