  1. Where is the meet? What is the price for a 2006 RSTD?
  2. Clearview makes a windshield with a slight unnoticeable bend outward at the top. Forget what they call it but I have it and it helps.
  3. I agree, every time you swing your leg over the seat you are accepting a great responsibility. But, riding is the closest thing to flying that man will ever achieve. The feel of you entire body being involved in each maneuver, the solitude of the wind in your ears And, as said before ,you can not compare the family you have everywhere.
  4. A little more expensive but I prefer Michelin. I seem to get good mileage and the wet road traction is very good. Plus the Texas roads can get very hot and they seem to hold up very well.
  5. Friday I will see my son return from a one year deployment to Afghanistan. This is his second deployment. It is a mixed feeling of proud and missing them but somehow the proud takes over and lets you know you raised them right. It takes a special person to serve their country today.
  6. Ride safe, if you have time to see the play at the Palo Duro Canyon do so. Very entertaining. Also, Caprock Canyon. Not as nice as Palo Duro but a nice area also. If in Amarillo stop in at the steak house and have one of the free 72 oz steaks.
  7. We are leaving DFW on Friday June 13th. Heading for Flagstaff. If our routes cross let me know and possibly we can ride a ways together.
  8. We will be in Flagstaff the week of the 15th. Staying there because of timeshare. Full week for about $100.00. Might be going to the north rim but haven't set schedule yet. If you will be there during same time possibly we can meet up for a lunch. Not sure yet about mules and / or rafting. Can't do the hiking. Too old, shot knees and too fat.
  9. The wife and I are loading up the bike in June and heading for Arizona. We will be basing out of Flagstaff. The main purpose is to see the Grand Canyon and spend the necessary days riding around it. If you have any “favorite roads” or tips please let me know about them. If you are in the area please let me know and possibly we can meet up. I have only been a member of this forum a very short time but I am very impressed with the family atmosphere and willingness to be there for each other. I wish I had joined a long time ago
  10. I am a shorty and ride a 2006 RSTD. I would like for the handlebars to be closer but I really don't want to change the bars out. I was thinking about risers. How well do they work? How do I know what size to get so I won't have to change out the cables? How hard are they to install with the enclosed handlebars on the RSTD?
