    Gas Can

If your solo, I have seen guys get the small 1 gal plastic gas jug and strap it to to a passenger floorboard. Ran across a fellow on the way back from Kentucky on a Nomad that had used that.
  2. Dont know if this is small enough. 6" is smallest I have found yet.
  3. Well you will have to get a volt meter in line with your power to see how much your drawing. Sounds like you had this already. Then you will have to start to pull fuses. When the draw goes away you found the circuit. Not to bad as there is only like 6 or 8 fuses on the bike. There are a couple under the right side leg fairings.
  4. Man, glad your OK. But I will be surprised if left bag, fairing, mirror, top box and front leg fairings are not wiped out. Then to get them painted and installed you'll be surprised the cost.
  5. HD touring take offs. Usually can pick them up cheap. I recommend unmolested and try them on some long distance stuff. Then decide if you want to mess with them. I had a pair on my RSV and one 1300 mile trip made me decide that even the stock ones I didnt want on there for long distances. Around town were OK, but 8-12 hour days not so much. There will be someone along that just has to have them loud racket makers.

    Rat Bike

With all the heat concerns folks have with V-twins, I dunno how he keeps that thing even close to cool enough. Most of the bikes like this I look at as gimmicks. There has to be a couple hundred extra pounds there that cant help the handling.
  7. I dunno man. These big tuff guys that pick on pregnant and elderly folks scare me. Oh I'm shakin. What a bunch of low lifes. Good thing I wasnt at that traffic light with my old Dodge pick up. I may have slipped off the clutch.. NYC has a problem with these hoodlums too. Miami, to me since hurricane Andrew went down hill severely. A pice of PVC thru the spokes would fix some of them jerks.
  8. I served with quite a few of guys from then. I respect those guys because a lot of them got the shaft when they came back. Thank you fellow Vets.
  9. Nope, didnt work.
  10. There is a company called "love jugs". Basically a pair of small 12v fans they have built fancy brackets and you hang them off side and it blows air across cylinders. So Puc, what if a fellow used a PC fan on the oil cooler to pass more air across it?
  11. I have thought about if a guy wanted to do something like that, us a computer case fan. Small, low voltage and should be easy to install. My question at hand is how dang hot can it be in Canada in March? Heck I was just in Montana and they still had 20" of snow on ground. I have on my Venture and V-twin during summer months ran thicker oil. If it takes 5qt run 4 of the 10w40 and 1 20w50.
  12. Looks nice. You mention you have new springs and the seat is new. Usually new springs will settle in a bit. Now how much they will set in, I dunno. But I think youll get use to it and it will be fine.
  13. I dunno much about Harley pricing. But I know them folks are crazy bout them. I mean folks pay $30 or more for a T shirt to advertise someones business for them. Any who HD charges more for a Street Glide than they do the tour glide with trunk, and they gobble them up. My guess is high 17's to 18,300. I couldnt get it to show up from the link either. Maybe someone at the auction house bought already.
  14. After disassembling, cleaning etc they still wore more on piston side. In my line of work we teach these new auto techs thats because the pins get stuck. It was not that big of deal to swap pads side to side. Not really any slide pins on the rear caliper if I remember rite.
  15. Just did a little R N D on it today. Actually I was looking for something else. But found out that the chassis design was built by Mercedes for the Mercedes-Benz GL Which I guess is some kind of fancy suv. I know it rides nice and handles well.
  16. 2nd Gens always seem to have uneven rear pad wear. Most of us every other oil change just flip pads from inside to outside.
  17. LOL I lived out there 20 years and didnt see no up hill. They must be new. The winds I can believe. I did just do a trip out to Montana from Fla with a friend in a big U-haul, rite down 40 to Amarillo. No hills still I could tell but the winds still are killer. So much so they now have dozens of them big windmills for electric. Sorry to hear about your accident. But congrats on the new find.
  18. http://nebula.wsimg.com/277a2f3abb69e765648d8ccfefcf732c?AccessKeyId=C57DFB3C7DF6DCA91285&disposition=0&alloworigin=1 Yup he did some cool bike for Victory. Rumor mill had that he/they are working on some neat stuff for the Indians
  19. Well its only a V-8. But lately manufactures run 2 plugs per cylinder to get that "last burn" in on exhaust gas as it escapes to reduce emissions.
  20. 16 spark plugs
  21. Well ya know......... I dont have no sympathy for the rider. Sorry that kind of stupid stuff should be done in a closed of parking lot or something. But I do feel sorry for his family. Also dumb stuff like this make the rest of us look like idots, even if we dont do stunts like this. Folks just see a bike and think, "there's one of them death wish people"
  22. Anyone own a 3rd Gen 2011 up Dodge Durango. We just bought an 11 from a friend. I know the history on it so that was a big factor. The wife has loved this truck since our friend bought it.
  23. LOL Old Detroit's were like BSA's. If they weren't leaking oil they probably didnt have any in them.
  24. If it stinks its parts cleaner. other wise I use it. If I am real worried about it I mix some seafoam and put it in car.
