Hey all, I'm getting a loud backfire/pop through the exhaust on longer decel. (eg. downshifting on the highway, before an exit ramp etc.) Have the stock mufflers on, had RK's, drilled, and thought it might be because of the open pipes, so went back to stock, and the AIS is plugged. Possible exhaust leak? Was wondering if anybody has had a similar condition, and what you may have done to fix this as it is annoying. The carbs have never been played around with, so was wondering if that may have something to do with it. Have not noticed a performance change though. The bike has 40k miles on it. Please help.

I also have the same question JB Ross has.... is there a way we can make a donation/subscription paying once for the year instead of the $2 a month... I looked at the form and I do not see a way to do that unless another page of it will come up when actually entering your information. I do not have PayPal... I would like to do it once for the year by credit card, but I don't see how at the moment... please explain. Thanks, Art........ oh and also, I wouldn't mind seeing a blank spot to enter your own amount, if anybody cares to give over and above the 2 a month....

Sunman, Kuryakyn makes a variety of lighting products, not specifically for the RSTD or Venture, but can be made to fit. Try this link http://kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=metric&ci=2951 if this is not what you are looking for, look around at the metric cruiser section, I have seen an RSTD with the tombstone tailight, and it looked great..

V-Max rear question..

hey guys, been busy with thanksgiving and all.... I know the rear is just a bolt on part, but do any other mods need to be made, or rather, when you guys did it, are there any other parts, (seals, shafts, etc.), that should be replaced, attended to etc... thanks again.......also what oil would be recommended..... at work we use Mopar 75-140 synthetic... seems to be really good oil, that's what I've been using presently.. -
How come nobody told me there was a 2nd gen. tech board???????? What's in there anyway????? How to reduce power on the midnites, cause they go too fast???? Gotta go see..

Hey all, I believe several of you guys have exchanged the rear end for the v-max style setup. Can't seem to locate any posts regarding performance, power etc. So my question to those that have done it, is basically how do you like it, are you happy you did it, how does it affect overall performance of the bike, etc. My rear is noisy, and was thinking about going that route, but looking for some genuine feedback first.
