  1. Thanks folks for the informative replies. Ultimate is about 90 minutes from me so I'm leaning toward ordering a seat from them. I've heard good things about their seats and with their money back deal for 14 days it takes the guesswork out of it. thanks again Greg
  2. I was just wondering about height for you. Is the Mustang similar to the stock seat with regards to your reaching pavement when stopped?? thanks Greg
  3. after much searching and reading It would appear that I'm shorter than most (5'7" with a 28" inseam). Is there anyone close to my size who has either the Ultimate or Mustang seat and if so, what are your views. I'm also interested to hear what your passengers think of these seats. thanks Greg:97:
  4. I don' do a lot of night riding but at least once a week we go out with our riding club and don't get back til after dark. As mentioned earlier, everybody does ride slower and very watchful for the critters. Worst part about night riding for me is cleaning off the bugs afterward.
  5. You've probably found a helmet by now but I have 2 friends who wear Bell Mag8 helmets and love them. My wife's going out to get one this morning because she can't wear the full face or flip up ones and doesn't feel safe with the half helmet. Here's the link to see what they look like. http://www.thebellstore.com/Helmets/mag8.html Also, here's a link to an independent review on the Bell Mag8 helmet which also shows what it looks like with the face shield up and down. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/bell-mag-8/
  6. I'm glad that everything worked out and nobody was hurt. I've towed our trailer for many many miles and it's always been in the back of my mind (what if?). Glad everyone is ok though.
  7. I'm no expert at all but don't think it's your imagination. Take a look at the tread on the E3 compared to the Met. I'm had E3's on 3 different bikes and got really good wear out of them but once the even start to wear they howl big time. On the positive side, because of the tread pattern on the E3, they don't tend to get caught up in the tar snakes or grated bridges which is nice. I suspect the imbalance that you're feeling is because the E3 is going where pointed and the other tire is tending to follow irregularities in the road. Just a thought and good luck. My opinion may be worth Greg:hurts:
  8. my 06 does the quish quish as well. But you can tell the service dude that not holding air in the front shocks isn't normal.
  9. Only 1???????????? I have 2 and still have issues!!!!!
  10. Snarley Bill and FreezyRider are both right. I can get lost in any country and any town within that country. Just ask anybody who's travelled with me. And no, I don't know the first wrongway but I'll bet we could have one heck of a trip without a GPS.
  11. Thanks for the replies. SaltyDawg got a laugh out of me but I suspect I won't be telling my wife to eat less. Hopefully I'll see a RSTD with the Utopia and get a chance for us to sit on it.
  12. One thing I really miss about my goldwing is being able to listen to the tunes. Now that I have the RSTD (which I love), I've tried the ipod with earphones but I feel totally distracted. I had the chance to hear the unit below (kuryakyn) in a store and it really sounded good. I've read reviews on the www.cruisercustomizing.com and the reviews are really tood as well. The nicest thing for me is that the amp is built in so no looking for a storage spot for a separate amp. For next summer this unit is on my wish list. Here's a link: http://www.kuryakyn.com/index.cfm/go/Home.ProductDetail/IMID/1070
  13. Hello Everyone: I'm the new guy on the block here I suppose. On Saturday I picked up my "new to me" 2006 RSTD. After putting on around 600 miles so far with my wife on the back, the stock seat just might be ok. After much moving around I seemed to find a sweet spot that wasn't torturing my tail bone. Anyway, here's my question (finally). I put a Utopia backrest on our 98 goldwing and my wife found that it really restricted her room on the back so does anybody have any input as to how their wife feels with the Utopia on the bike. Thanks in advance for your advice and input. Greg
