  1. Thanks Everyone! I have a can of Pledge in my hand and I am heading for the garage!! Thanks Again! Steve
  2. Friends: I took a 600 Mile round trip last sunday to Ohio. When I left Virginia it had rained the night before and lots of water on the highway. Trucks blew by me and the mist seemed to collect on the windshield rather than sheet off like my former Memphis Shades windshield did. Anyone know any tricks for treating the windshield so the moisture sheets off? This moisture on the windshield made it difficult at times to see. I know that the manufacturer does not recommend products like RainX. Any and all ideas appreciated. Thanks, Steve
  3. Thanks for all of the inquiries. To give you a few details, the fun part of the trip is the many months of planning. We have researched many great rides in magazines etc. What we have tentatively planned is the following: Leaving August 21 to meet in Washington PA, riding north to Route 6 all the way across PA (Have done this ride before and it is phenominal! Continuing on Rt 6 to Port Jervis and starting NE, maybe Rt. 209 to ultimately Route 7. Route 7 through CT, MA, and into VT and cross VT and NH via route 9 to Portland ME and then run the ocean front Rt. 1 to Bar Harbor. Return trip has yet to be determined but thinking about Northern route through ME cross country to Mt. Washington in NH and back along the great lakes, maybe. We will be gone about 8 days. Your thoughts? Steve

2008 RSTD Charcoal over Liquid Silver

    Last Sunday on the BRP
  7. Randy: I have one that I like, magnetic with soft rubber back so as to not scratch the tank. Nelson-Rigg, Silver Streak. Fills most of the tank without being in the way when filling tank. Side zipper pockets, lot of nice compartments inside. Comes with rain cover and has removable velcro full size clear map pouch on top. Paid $69 on sale. Hope this helps! Steve
  8. Folks: Thanks for all of the great ideas. It is wonderful to be able to rely on such great advice and suggestions from folks that have "been there, done that". We try to take full advantage of each day of the trip and make the most of each ride. With suggestions like these, I can hardly wait to get loaded up and "RIDE" Thanks a bunch and I am sure that as the trip nears I will do some PM'ing to get more details and make some more connections. Thanks Alot, Steve
  9. Thanks flb and Eck: After so more internet research I found that Purolator does not recommend the Pure One filter for Bikes due to oil pressure differences between bikes and automobiles! They do have a specific ML (Motorcycle Line) and the cross number is ML16817 the ML16819 is being discontinued. I am so thankful for this site and all of the help ya'll give to other members, keep up the great communication and great riding!
  10. I also own a 2008 RSTD and have only ridden it a total of ~200 miles. I have gotten about 45 miles to the gallon. Soon after buying the bike I had the powersports shop adjust the idle and carbs. Gets mfg. suggested mileage per gallon.
  11. Hello Friends: My brother and I are planning a trip to Maine this August via PA,NJ,NY,CT,MA,VT,NH,ME. Just wanted to know if there are any spots along the way that are a must see or visit. We will be gone around 8-9 days and hope that my new friends here on the web can give me some advice as to places to visit, ride suggestions, or anything else we should consider for this trip. No such thing as a bad suggestion, we are always open to any and all ideas! Thanks, Steve
