  1. My many thanks to Bubber for starting the thread about fuel pumps, and all of you others who chimed in. I replaced that expensive fuel pump last year. With the advice offered today about the point switch kit, I ordered one and will rebuild this pump for the future.
  2. Remember in Geometry about triangles? In a right angled triangle, the square of the hypotenuse equals the sum of the squares of the other two legs. So, it is longer.
  3. Man, now another problem. GPS. After I enter or select a destination, it displays with the word "GO." I press "GO" and it starts OK. But just as soon as I connect it to a Power source, it goes blank except for the large name "Garmin." I must be doing something wrong or else missing a step. Can anyone help me? Also, I want to enter a new destination into the "Favorites" section, but as I do so, a flag comes up stating that it can't be found. I know that - this is to be an addition. Owen
  4. Makes sense to me. Sounds like a fair solution.
  5. Today, the Cruse worked fine. But, I think I'm cracking up! Sitting in the garage, and pressing the left side, three lights come on, yellow, green and blue. After a few seconds, the green and yellow turn off and the blue stays on. This looks like a normal sequence. But, here is what had puzzled me. When on the road, pushing the left side, only the green and yellow came on momentarily but no blue light. Now, since there was no blue light, I didn't know that it was actually still turned on. I had given it up as a lost cause. So, today, I stopped in a parking lot and flipped the switch back and forth, on and off. Again, only the green and yellow flashed on. But, then I quickly looked real close, and saw that the green light said "SET." So, maybe that means to push the set button on the right handlebar. Whew! All that worry about nothing except for a failed "Blue" light to tell me that the Cruse was actually on. Works like a charm now. I'm a Happy Camper! Thank You, Thank You, everyone for your interest and suggestions. I appreciate it all! You are the Best! And especially to Mike (Eusa1) for the phone call. Owen.
  6. Mike, take the rack to a local welding shop and have an offset extension welded to the hitch, raising it up to around 6 inches. Then spray paint it black.
  7. Like I said, it's been awhile because since the radio quit, I figured that something bad happened someplace, before I found the bad fuse. You're right, push the left side and the toggle returns and stays in the center. Push the right side down and the toggle returns and stays down and off. I'll be riding again in the morning to give it another try.
  8. OK, just checked again. While sitting in the garage and pressing the left side of the toggle switch, under the tape player, the blue light comes on and stays on. Now, on the road, at 65 MPH, it's almost impossible to concentrate on that blue light for more than seconds, but I'm sure it just goes out. So no matter what I do to the control on the right handle bar, nothing works. And, yes I do also have those hanging leather tassels on the bars. Thanks for the interest, guys! Owen.
  9. It's been over a year ago, but it did work pretty good. At times it would cancel off all by it's self. So, I quit using it.
  10. Somehow the 10 amp fuse for the radio blew and I replaced it. Also the cruse control didn't work, so I figured that maybe it must also be on that same fuse. But, after replacing the fuse the cruse control still doesn't work. Here's what happens. The Cruse switch is a rocker style and either direction that I push, the light will go on for just a few seconds and back off again, but doesn't stay on. It's been quite a while since I've used the cruse, so maybe I'm doing something wrong. All the help and suggestions will be appreciated before we leave on a trip, next Monday. Thank you! Owen.
  11. Mike, I also have Carbon One's arm rests and I think they are very important for a passenger on a trike. They lift up and not out, so they more or less secure the passenger in place with no chance of sliding off during hard, fast turns. You'll love them. Owen.
  12. A short ride may be discouraging if less than 50 miles. Rack up a few hundred and it's a piece of cake. Like others have said, they're very comfortable and stable and offer a greater feeling of dependability, security and control. (Hannigan) They're big, which gives you an impressive feeling, plus you'll be noticed many more times than on 2 wheels and you'll know that there can never be a motorcycle any better for you. You'll be very proud of your purchase and it will be the best dollars you've ever spent. Be sure to include the gas tank and even the reverse if you can afford it. Owen.
  13. A good post, guys. And Ray, I used your suggestion about the Bagger Werx and just ordered one. Owen.
  14. The ad doesn't list the length of the arms. Check that out before you buy. They should be at least about an inch longer that the width of your frame.
  15. I just bought a mud flat on e-bay, 2 days ago. Haven't received it yet, but I'm wondering how you guys are mounting them. The front finder has a chrome piece on the back edge. Have you bolted it to that piece or gone further up and onto the fender? Owen.
  16. Owning a boat has been one of the greatest adventures we've had in life. The first was a 17' outboard with a 70 HP Mercury motor and the second was an 18' in board with a 208 Ford V8 engine. Great experiences and made many new friends with them. Taught many adults and kids to water ski. Towing the boats to distant lakes led to camping, so we could spend the week ends. Then, we and most of those friends ended up riding motorcycles and ran trips together. Happy days to look back at. I'm sure you'll truly enjoy that new boat!
  17. I know this sounds dumb, but I've never paid attention as to what was behind that round rubber disc on the left side on the fairing. Hey, you're right! Wow, there's a cigarette lighter under there. Thank You! Problem solved, simple as that. Owen.
  18. Now, if they also made it in a "Convertible!"
  19. I bought a holder to place the GPS on the Trike handlebars, but since there is no cigarette lighter outlet, how are you getting the power for yours? Need suggestions. Owen.
  20. I have a similar rack and I found that the tail end tended to drag at certain times, so I made up and welded a 6 inch offset piece onto the tongue. It's longer now, but really up in the air and out of danger. By the way, where did you get that bumper. I love that! Owen
  21. I believe that main reason for the choice of arm rests is a Safety Reason. I have Larry's, Carbon One, units and they are definitely one of the best investments for your bike. Owen
  22. I vouch for "Stella's Bar & Grill" in Bellevue Nebraska. It is definitely worthy of the recommendation. Try theirs with the fried egg on it too. Delicious! Burgers are served on a napkin. That's different.
  23. Neither will work now. Is there a re-set or something else to look for? Hope it's something simple, but I don't know. It always worked before. Any suggestions? Owen.
  24. Rained earlier this morning and then the sun was up and was bright at noon and past. I had to pick up some meds at the VA in Omaha , so I set off on the Trike. Guess what? It started raining again! So, as soon as the engine cools off, I've got an unwanted job to do to get her cleaned up. And it's a real mess now, this time! Hate when that happens.
  25. Now, I'm really curious! On another thread, it was mentioned about Trikes turning over. Was that a joke? My Venture, with a Hannigan Trike Kit, seems to easily go into the sharpest of curves, but sometimes I do wonder if these things will turn over. Now, has anyone ever had one tip over or know of anyone whose Trike has turned over? Please let me know what and how it happened. I guess anything is possible, but these Trikes have a really wide stance. Maybe I just feel too safe and don't want to be sorry! Thank You! Owen.
