  1. Yes, Ebay etc is probably your best bet. Several years ago I went the route of replacing with new hoses and they are/were quite pricey! May not be available any more...
  2. Yes, from what I remember the rear caliper on the MK2 is interchangeable with the 2nd Gen caliper. Part of me wants to say they are the same caliper...
  3. We have memorial patches available for our dearly departed Venturerider Ed "Freaken" Jonsey. If you are interested in obtaining one of these please contact me via PM, etc. We need to know if there is enough interest in these, and an approximate count before we actually order them. The cost will be $6 including shipping to US and Canada. Here's what the patch will look like...
  4. I got in at 6:30, and ditto to what Craig said!! Those of you that didn't come missed a wonderful time!!! Only catastrophe is I lost my St. Jude's patch I bought at the auction, that and my cell phone battery died half way home, bought a charger at Sheetz gas and it seemed to work for about 15 seconds...
  5. You wanted to go faster, didn't ya?!!?
  6. Yup!! Love my sheepskin!
  7. Jack, get a grip!!! You're not in the right frame of mind...
  8. Larry washed his Slingshot and it shrunk!!
  9. Hmmmmm, once in a great while the connector for the pickup coils causes problems, but then again just about any connector on the bike can get corroded and cause issues. I don't think there are any silver bullets ot there that would fix everything! I think the cable upgrade is the most needed, as far as the stator and R/R hard soldering the wires seems to be the universal fix... Make sure you mention @Marcarl into the continuum...
  10. OK Here's an update! The Rally is in West Virginia and you're not here, what's up with that?????
  11. Somewhat short ride (little over 100 miles) leaving at 10:00. Dinner is at 5:30 I think...
  12. tntviper, you're gonna fit right in here!!!
  13. Yup! Get rid of that "Brick Stone" and get a decent tire on it! Also not too keen on that Metzler on rear, they have been known to spit chunks of rubber off them...
  14. Yah! I'm going with the reserve setting on the petcock too!! Now, it varies from bike to bike, but usually when the orange fuel light goes on and the "countdown" starts on mine it will start to sputter about that point and it is time to switch over to reserve. Actually I eliminated that by having the petcock on reserve all the time...
  15. Yup!! You stole it at $8500 Canadian dollars!! Outstanding deal!!! Enjoy!
  16. OK the schrader valve is to fill the front shocks with air on the Venture Standard (No CLASS). Only use a hand pump, do NOT use a compressor, you will blow the seals out!!! OK very common problem with the gas gauge, your sender unit, located on the top of the tank and bolts on the top, is most likely screwed up. The rheostat is probably warped. Remove the sender unit, and behind a metal shield is the rheostat, it's slider is connected to the float. The rheostat winding is supposed to be flat but chances are yours is now bowed, You may or may not be able to fix it. Sender units still show up on Ebay but it is a crap shoot to find a good one. Study the unit, the tension of the slider is sort of adjustable via a phillips screw adjustment...
  17. Maybe it's eligible for free health care, welfare, housing and food stamps!
  18. Hmmmm, only if he has one Steamer, they are an accessory through Hannigan or from Carbon _One. Can't remember if his has one or not, but you have a good point!
  19. Ehhhh, couple hundred or so...
  20. Can't help you with the VIN, but you own a 1st Generation Venture Mark 1. The breakdown is this; 1st generation is '83 to '93, MK 1 is '83 to '85, MK 2 is '86 to '93. 2nd Generation Venture is '99 to '13 and are the Harley look alike wanna be's. Here's a link to our history page... http://www.venturerider.org/history/index.php The actual VIN will be on a white sticker on the frame on the bottom, forgot which side. It also has it's "born on" date. As far as any 1 stop shop, there isn't really any, but several use Partzilla or boats.net. Some parts are not available any more but Ebay is our friend! Never heard of any Ventures ever being built in Mexico...
  21. I'm pretty sure the petcocks are interchangeable but not 100% on that...
  22. When you say "would not start" I have to ask did it turn over but refuse to catch, or you hit the starter button and nothing happened?? Just piggy backing on my buddy Gibvel...
  23. Ummm, is the pusher rod (for lack of the proper name) still in place?? I.e. is the lever actually pushing against something?? Could have fallen out when the bike got dumped and old lever got bent/broke...
