  1. Not sure Neil, I'm thinking around 3.7ish. I'm trying the easy way first by going with bigger tires. If I lose too much torque I will go up a little on the ratio. I'm going from a 24.5 diameter to a 25.9 in tire, a 195/60/15 to a 205/55/17 and that does not make the tire width that much bigger to worry about. The rear end is a Ford 7.5 inch from a Thunderbird from the 80's and the IRS is from a Honda CRX late 80's... PS bought rims from Amazon.com this afternoon and am now going with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's from BJ's!
  2. Well now, here's a blindside!!! Tire Rack will not sell them to me because of company policy to not sell anything for motorcycle use!!! Hmmm, boycott Tire Rack for sure!! Oh well, off to fleabay and my local BJ's...
  3. Yes, it's going to be doggy off the line, but with the Hannigan the way it's geared my RPM's are waaay up from what it used to be. I can stay in 5th down to 45 MPH. My top end is just around 100...
  4. Don, get a quote from State Farm as well! Very reputable and reasonable. Stay away from Nationwide, pricey. We had them for years but switched to State Farm and we are saving a lot!
  5. Need pictures... You will probably need a pro with a torch!
  6. Well, the main reason for the switch is to reduce RPM's at highway speeds...
  7. Finally got around to it, just ordered a pair of Pirelli Cinturato 205 55 R17 on a pair of Verde Protocol 17" chrome rims which have a 40mm offset. Here's hoping they fit, the diameter of the tire is almost 2" bigger...
  8. The term "Stupider by the minute" applies...
  9. Rich, you may just find out you ENJOY cruising...

  12. Awww, you don't like the George Jetson sound?!!? I've grown to just accept it, Sexi chirps when she's happy...
  13. OK everything in life is a compromise! The upside of High Output stators is they give out a lot more power than stock ones. The downside is this power generates more heat, the enemy of stators! The unfortunate truth is H.O. stators don't last as long as the stock ones...
  14. Actually it mounts to one of the air cleaner bolts from what I remember... PS there is a nice aftermarket chrome reservoir cover you can buy or you can have my old stock one...
  15. Gary, the master cylinder screws into the two back holes of the brake pedal assembly. The brake pedal assembly ataches to the top of the floorboard vertically via 3 bolts. The whole assembly then attaches to the frame with two horizontal oriented bolts. I will have to look at the shifter side and take pictures. the rear floorboards just bolt onto the frame...
  16. Oh, it's on the bike...
  17. They are rebuildable but you will need to hone the cylinder and for what a new one costs, you are better off with a new one. Several people have tried rebuilding with little success but that may be because they did not hone the cylinder as part of the process...
  18. We've been to Dogpatch...
  19. Technically, it is a 4 wheeler...
  20. Ya done good!!
  21. Don't quit your day job...
  22. Ow ow OW!!! I can just feel it pinching!!! Great machining though...
  23. Yah! These are high rev'ing bikes! As stated you should have no problem hitting 90 in 3rd. They should top out at 120 - 130 in 5th which is and OD gear. I've had mine up to 115 with more still there but I chickened out. Also as mentioned they have a rev limiter so you can not over rev these engines. To tell if the differential was swapped out to a VMax, try shifting into 5th at about 45 - 50 mph and try accelerating rapidly from there. If it hesitates, bogs down, etc you have a stock differential. If it's a Vmax it will respond normal. To discover what the rev limiter sounds and feels like pick a gear like 2nd and twist the throttle wide open and hold. You will know when it hits the limit, it will act like you broke the engine, but you didn't. Maybe you aren't running on all 4! With the engine cold, start it up and immediately feel all 4 pipes. All 4 should feel warm after a minute of less. If one or more stay cold you have a problem!!
  24. Unless you try to do something REALLY stupid like a U turn on the side of a very steep hill or off-road a lot, you will probably never flip it! The original 3 wheel ATV's that Honda were pulled from the market because they could flip mostly due to a short wheelbase AND people being stupid... PS I wonder just how many nay Sayers actually ride a trike...
