  1. Outstanding!!!
  2. OK it's RPM related which points to the carbs... EDIT: After thinking about it for a while, it could be related to a plug or two being weak. I'm thinking try a set of iridium NGK plugs first before you start tearing into the carbs just to prove it is indeed a carb adjustment issue first. But, before you do that, dump a whole can of seafoam into a full tank (double dosage) and drive it like you stole it. If there is a lot of crud to be burned off, it can and will foul the plugs even worse so you may as well totally wreck the old plugs...
  3. I'm starting to think so too DJ! My interest was to improve the performance and economy to account for the extra weight of the Hannigan...
  4. I used to run the jack up to just touching and look where it needed a 2 x 3 placed. From what I remember I used 3 different pieces...
  5. Item 35 - 40 do not appear on the MK1, only the MK2. There is a difference in the engine covers for MK1 vs MK2, and the '83 mounts different from the '84. Saddlebags mount different on MK1 vs MK2. Trunk is smaller on '83 and '84. Other than that any year will fit any year...
  6. For the amount of work that goes into each set, his price is well worth it! Becky bought a set for my birthday and I am well pleased with them, really dresses up the motor!!!
  7. Well done soldier!!
  8. First glad you're OK! I agree with the Pucster about whether the frame is tweaked and if the front forks are bent or out of round. As long as the frame isn't bent then even if you have to replace the forks you should be ready to go, 42K miles isn't much for these bikes. Are you doing the work or are you having it done??
  9. Also oil up everything that moves on the centerstand...
  10. Glad things worked out!!! You know you can still stay here and be part of the family!
  11. To add to Frank D's explanation, the reason most of us use a color tune plug instead of an exhaust gas analyzer (just a tad more accurate) is the color tune is a whole lot cheaper than an analyzer...
  12. This sounds crazy but it works! Wear a pair of yellow hunting glasses in the rain, it improves visibility greatly. Myself I use a large windshield that is kept waxed with furniture polish, and I have the edge of the windshield covered with plastic chrome door edge guard, and that slows down the water spraying over the edge. Also, the faster you go the more the water disburses from the shield. By using the bigger shield it keeps a lot of the rain off my helmet but I still open the visor up just enough to see under it but not so much as to allow rain at my eyes. I agree driving in the rain sucks but sometimes you have no choice...
  13. Way COOL!!! They ended up with a couple of nice Indians!
  14. PS Larry how the heck did you do that?
  15. HAPPY 39th BIRTHDAY Jack Benny...errr...PUCKSTER!!!!!
  16. Any time they want to go riding, let me know!!
  17. IMHO you are offering a very good deal but no, not a steal. 5K would be a steal. As mentioned be very leary of Craigslist scammers, they are plentiful...
  18. Yes it does have a certain coolness factor...
  19. OK next thing to check is the AIS for proper operation. If it is plugged that can cause popping..
  20. Better still, buy a good set of JIS (Japan Industrial Standard) screwdrivers and stop wrecking your screws. The angle for the JIS is different from the SAE and using an SAE strips the heads...
  21. IT is one of the most important things of all time!
