  1. ...& then replace them with nylon wing nuts. They'll self-tap. Then no tools necessary.
  2. I got one for my RSV right off the bat. If I needed one, I'd certainly get one. Great addition to the bike.
  3. Hey Russ, Are you bored? You're over-thinking this way too much.
  4. I believe your year comes with the iSimple setup. Mine's a 2006 & didn't come with it, but, check your saddlebags. The connection may be in one of them. Someone else may chime in with more knowledge.
  5. Since I've just moved from WA to SoCal, I'll sell you mine for half the price of the new ones plus shipping, if you're interested. They've hardly been used.
  6. Thanks Condor. I found that, too, but, the reviews aren't very encouraging.
  7. Thanks, BuddyRich, but I searched for BillM & found no member with that name.
  8. OK, I just moved from Seattle area to Santa Clarita, CA. Anyone know of a good dealer somewhere near here? Thanks.
  9. I've had mine since I bought it. Seriously, though, I bought it new in May of 2006. Had an accident on it 6 weeks later (guy turned left in front of me) which caused $7500 worth of damage to the bike & I was only going about 10mph at impact & shattered my left wrist. Both took 3 months to fix/heal. Now have about 62K miles on it & loving every minute of it. I just moved back to SoCal less than 2 weeks ago. Wife is still in WA. Bikes (hers & mine) getting shipped today. Hope to have them by this weekend. She will be taking care of some things up in WA for a little while longer until she's able to join me. New job for me & looking forward to her getting down here in the sunshine. I know I'll be putting more miles on it now that I'm back in SoCal.
  10. That's exactly how I set my bookmark. Great minds think alike.
  11. Been tough for me lately, as well. I just moved to L.A. from Seattle. Drove the truck pulling a Uhaul trailer full of stuff. Just started a new job. Bike is still in Seattle. Need to get it down here soon. The weather today is 88°. Actually, nice to be back after 13.5 years in the PNW. Even though I rode most of the time in winter in Seattle, except maybe a month, I should be able to ride here all the time & as soon as the bike gets shipped that's exactly what I'll be doing. I don't do a lot of contributing, anyway, but also nice to know I've been missed.
  12. I've got one, too. Steve Wagner, a member here, used to make them, but, no more.
  13. I have the luggage rack. Are you looking for one? I'll let it go cheap if you need one. Can't help you about fitment. Oh wait, mine came off my Silverado. Don't know if they're the same.
  14. Same story here. I'm only about 155 & the stock pillow seat, to me, is absolutely wonderful. I've gone 850 miles & felt I could still have gone further with no problems. My caboose doesn't have much of its own padding, so, the pillow seat is perfect. Every caboose is different.
  15. That is the correct part #.
  16. Could still be burned out, but, with the vibrations inherent in riding a bike, maybe the 2 pieces of the filament make contact, so, it works until the vibrations separate them again?
  17. Yep. I always keep mine on reserve. I don't need to be sputtering along a city street when I need to move. What if it happens as I'm accelerating from a stop light. I don't even like it when doing 70mph on the freeway when it starts sputtering, as, by the time I've reached down to turn the petcock to RES while losing speed, I've dropped below 60mph & look like an idiot putting along in the fast lane, then suddenly accelerating back up to 70. Nope. Ain't gonna let that happen. As usual, it's just a personal choice. Mechanically, it doesn't make any difference when you fill up whether the petcock is ON, OFF or RES.
  18. The fairing looks almost like the RSV with the passing lamps built in. I actually think it looks better than the RSV fairing. I've had mine more than 7 years now & it still doesn't thrill me, but, the passing lamps break it up a little & makes it a little more tolerable. Don't get me wrong, I love the RSV, but that fairing has always seemed a little off.
  19. Well, what about adding the pillion? That most certainly shifted the CG back, yet no weave then. & with the weighted belt, no weave. I agree, more than one thing going on there. I also think today's models have improved in design. Besides, these bikes are a lot heavier than what they were riding. I'm sure that helps, too.
  20. Actually , the fairing looks like a cross between the Venture & Voyager. I think it looks pretty good. I like the idea of the "passing lamps" built into the fairing. Supposedly, they are LED. Look like halogen, as does the headlamp. Is the headlamp supposed to be LED as well?
