  1. Here's a video from Forgotten Weapons where Ian frequently does hands-on talks on the RIA firearms, and in this linked video he does a walk thru of the auction display area that is open for look see the day prior to the February auction.

  3. After watching the videos of the Corvairs going across Darien Gap, I bounced to google and found a short travelog that included this paragraph: Hilary Bradt published a nice book with details on crossing the gap it was written in the 70s people have crossed it on bicycles(carrying them) and there is an abandoned Chevrolet Corvair on the trail ha ha, that wasn't mentioned in the Chevrolet commercial for the Corvairs
  4. I presume you were able to maintain social distancing
  5. Good to see you back in the Forum Mark. Mark was kind enough to give me a tour of the sights around his end of Nebraska before I joined him and others for the rest of the trip out to Cody and Yellowstone for the Annual back when.
  6. While no fatality or injury, I had something like this happen to me a few years ago. I took a ladyfriend for a ride on my Tour Deluxe. We went about 20 miles and were heading back when I felt her grip on my waist go limp. I looked back and she was partially hanging over a side of the bike (with its backrest) and did not respond to my shouts or hand on her leg. There was a gas station immediately in front of me and I slowly pulled off the 65mph highway into the gas station. Stopped, put my feet down, and kickstand down, and slowly shook her leg and she responded and slowly gained consciousness and sat up by herself, still on the bike. I got off, while keeping hands on her and helped her off. It seems she was diabetic, and the heat, and situation caused mild diabetic reaction. We hung around the gas station for about an hour while she drank some fruit juice and water and was able to walk around ok. We were only a few miles from her house, and I did take her home, albeit slowly, while talking to her the whole time. I don't think I've had a passenger on the back of one of my motorcycles since then.
  7. shhh! don't let him hear you say that word !!!!
  8. I think it really needs a JATO option so one doesn't have to get the legs tired scooting around so much.
  9. I had a '79 XS1100, one of my favorite motorcycles looking back in time.
  10. There are two strains of Cov-19, one more virulent than the other. But the medications being proposed to treat it and the vaccines to prevent it, that are under tests/development are supposed to work on both strains from what I've read.
  11. I guess I'll have to find my waffle and sausage somewhere else for a while. boo hoo Case count for CoV-19 starting to go up here with the county reporting the first last friday, and now we're at 3 (small rural county of 30,000) actually, I'm pretty well tucked into my crib for the duration
  12. The front radar monitors traffic ahead and allows the use of adaptive cruise control that keeps pace with the vehicle in front. A second radar unit at the back provides blind spot warnings—probably via indicator lamps in the mirrors—and alerts if a vehicle is approaching fast from the rear. hmm... so why is a vehicle approaching fast from the rear?
  13. Good news. Glad to hear your brother is ready to do some fishing. Me, too. Its getting to be that time of the years when the trout start biting.
  14. Nice and warm today, so I took a 2 hour ride. Prices from a low of $1.79 up to 2.49

There's a lot of recriminations going around right now. So here's some music to sooth the savage beast in all of us. I've been looking at Chinese Youtubes recently for information about covid-19 and stumbled across some music that I enjoy hearing. This was the first one I found. The above was written by this folk guitarist https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr6nWBf2klGnVGP8fFt6kLA Enjoy

    Air?

I'm not a doctor, and haven't been thru having to do what you ask. There have been a few posts or news articles that I've seen where patients are being charged between $3,000-3,500 USD for the corona virus test by a medical provider (hospital or clinic) One story indicated that a patient with insurance still had a co-pay charge of $1,500. I am over 65 and have medicare, so I checked the Medicare web page recently, and it states that Medicare part B completely covers a coronavirus test if recommended by a medical doctor. I'm not aware of a walkin clinic. I do subscribe to the State of Georgia Healthcare bulletins which I get almost daily and usually scan. I just revisited the George Health Dept web site. It does have several pages about corona virus. The one with the heading 'If you think you are sick' repeatedly says 'see your healthcare provider'. Thats all. As a caveat, doctors here US frequently recommend lots of tests once they get you in an exam room, so am cautious now that this (lots of unneeded tests) has happened before. I'm not sure if a tele call to my local public health clinic (where I get my flu shots) can initiate the procedure to get a corona virus test. The clinic has nurses, but not on staff MDs. I should find that out, as the doctor I was seeing retired last year, and I picked up my file before he locked up shop, but haven't gone to a doctor for about 18 months now.
  17. I thought that was why so many sea dogs smoked pipes?

    Air?

this is not a good time to travel. I've been closely following the corona virus outbreak since early january. We are in the early stages of a global pandemic. The US is not prepared and it will get worse here. The same can be said for Canada I believe.

    bike chase

Large cities like LA have the luxury (??) of having helicopter patrols in the air (much of the time) which gives them the ability to track that most geographies don't have.

  21. If you want to do that again, I'll join your band of pirates... er crew. I had a 15' catamaran for a couple of summers which I mostly sailed on Rehobeth Bay in Delaware, although I did cautiously venture out into the Atlantic within sight of shore a few times. It was great fun until I got the cat wrapped around a bridge piling by a rip tide one afternoon.

You may be onto something. Breathing might be the root of all the world's problems?
