Thanks to other members around here including Mother, I can toggle switch my GPS so it is integrated with my intercom and CB system. Since my GPS has bluetooth and an sd card slot, I can send/receive calls through my helmet headset and also listen to all my tunes as well as all my GPS prompts. Sure not as neat and high teck as this new technology and it isn't wireless, but it works well for me and my wife has the rear controls to turn down the volume is she wants to.

Congratulations Wayne (I think). Must admit, while owning two 1st gens now and thinking that a 1st gen is my preferred bike, I have never actually ridden a 2nd gen. However, I have rode many miles with Abdul on what is now your new millennium and it sure is a good looking scoot, whether I was following him or looking at it behind me through my mirrors.

I have a similar helmet with a wireless brake light option, but haven't yet installed the unit that causes the brake light to show. Bought it over a year ago and I forget how to do the installation. Did you just tap into a brake light wire?

Hey Wayne, my wife and I had a fabulous trip to the east coast last summer after leaving Maintenance Day. We didn't do Newfoundland and we deliberately spent less time in Nova Scotia than I would recommend because we had been there numerous times. Here is what I did. Major improvement in visibility, including brake lights. Also, very low cost ($40) and easily mounted. In my case, I plugged into my trailer wiring, which was also easy to do.

Don't have any specific suggestions Rodney but sure wish you good luck in dealing with this. I have heard about a program (here in Canada I think) where people are confronted with the carnage resulting from accidents involving DUI. Apparently that often shocks folks into thinking twice. Maybe there is something like that in your area. Again, good luck to you with your son.

Finally, my first ride of the year today. Not a long ride, but a good one. Blew off some winter dust but still need to shine it up.

That's what it is here in Canada with CAA, which I understand is the same as AAA. For the extra annual fee cost, you get several extra benefits, including motorcycle coverage.

Thanks to Bongobob, we now know this thread is four years old. However, I still like the sentiment "On a Happier Note", and I will add a "Happy Note" experience that happened to me today. Finally the forecast is for a few days above freezing around here. So, I went down to my storage locker to get my battery charger to charge up the battery on each of my 1st gens. They have been parked all winter in underground parking where it isn't heated, but never freezes. While I own at least 5 chargers, not one was to be found in my locker (they all must be at my shop at my cottage). Instead, I found the key fob to my van that I lost last fall and was just about to replace at a cost of almost $300. It was in some storage bins where I keep some motorcycle stuff. Decided to see if I could fire up the bikes anyway. To my pleasant surprise, there was some juice left in the batteries and both bikes fired up right away. They sure sounded good together in the underground parking garage. So, if the weatherman if right with his temperature forecast (high 30's) but wrong with his morning snow flurry forecast, I will enjoy my first ride of the season tomorrow.

Boy you are lucky, and it sure is special to hear a guy think that way. What makes it even more special is that you are sharing your feeling of luck with us and another new-to-you Venture is involved. Enjoy!

No, I installed the light bar so that the helmet locks are still accessible and usable, although slightly less convenient.

Sure like some of the led light bars mentioned by others. Here is what I added for my 1st gen, which only cost $29 at Princess Auto here in Ontario and gives me both tail and brake lights. It sure shows up better.

That's what I did. Kept the trailer a few years to use for storage and then sold it for a bit more than I paid for it. My only caution would be that when fully loaded, it was a very heavy load to haul, which I could not have done without load levellers. Anyway Angel, good luck to you folks with your move. We just had a 96 vehicle pileup on the major road heading north from here. Caused by a freak whiteout. Picture was amazing. Zero visibility inside what looked like a cloud of snow and clear visibility outside the cloud.

Yea, I've been noticing some unusually big ones on a few of our major highways around here in Ontario. So big that I'm sure they could cause loss of control.
