You can always paint flames on it or have it painted if you end up with a midnight.

I'm going out on a limb here but I assume the Canadian versions are the same color as the US versions. if that is true your requirement for a 03 to 07 limits your color chooses. I have a two toned green and they are 01's. The purples are 99's. There was a two toned red in 03 a black cherry in 06. There may be some other red versions in the 03 to 07 years I'm not sure. All those years had a black version. Unless it has a custom paint I think you will have to settle for some shade of red. Good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for.

Thanks Sylvester. I have decided to change mine. Better be safe than sorry. I ordered mine today. Harry

That info helps, thanks but I was under the impression that you could not pack the wheel bearings on these because you could not get the the bearings. Am I wrong? Thanks, Harry

My 2000MM needs new tires. I have a little over 51k on it. I have a friend with a 2005 and he had a front bearing go out with a little over 50k on his. I have checked the shop manual and it just says check to make sure it spins smoothly. It says nothing about replacing. So what is everyone's opinion on changing the wheel bearings? Change now or wait until it develops a problem? Thanks, Harry:confused24:

Does not want me to wear any other patch while on a chapter ride

I don't want to go there. That would really open a bag of worms. -

I don't think more than just a few people hear have gotten their blood pressure up. I think the vast majority are just saying the way they feel and having a good time. I first joined STAR when I first got my motorcycle a long time ago. I was looking for someone to ride with since my Harley buddies did not really want to ride with a Yamaha. I have made a lot of really good friends through my STAR chapters. Although I could take or leave STAR I like the people in the chapters. I do a lot of riding by myself, with toe two STAR chapters, and friends and occasionally with the VentureRiders and the Venturers. I am not ashamed to say I ride with any of the groups and they all have great people in them. This is not about STAR but about one persons opinion which I disagree with and he knows it. Just like wearing a Harley T-shirt does not constitute being in a Harley motorcycle club wearing the VentureRiders patch does not constitute being in a motorcycle club. The Harley T-shirt is just a shirt and the VentureRiders patch would be the same as wearing a big patch on the back of the jacket that say GOOGLE. This is one persons opinion which is usually reserve for the Harley community and I thought it was ironic that this mentality surfaced in a Yamaha environment. -

I actually did cover one of my other organizations pin with black electrical tape but no one noticed. -

Speaking of Allen Cease I saw him for the first time today at the FTC truck in Ga. today with his wife. I was instantly turned off by his demeanor and the way (I perceived) his better than you I am head of this organization look about him. I had never seen him before and I got this opinion of him before they announced who he was. He may be the nieces guy in the world. IMHO. -

You all make very good points. The problem is not with my vest. My vest has only Star patches on it. It has a VentureRiser, Venturer and a PGR pin on it but with his statement. I don't think any other motorcycle club patches, ****s, etc should be worn on this chapter rides. My jacket was the big problem this time. He did not want me riding to the STAR FTC event with a VentureRider patch on my jacket. I covered it with my STAR vest. As Chip mentioned earlier VentureRiders is not a motorcycle club but is a motorcycle forum. I will wear what I have always worn and it will be club related to whichever club I am riding with but I will probably have something on that shows I am a member of the other motorcycle organizations also. I just could not believe I was hearing this from a Yamaha organization. -

So STAR must has copied some other stiff noised motorcycle clubs by-laws. I told them if they did not like it I would gladly leave the chapter. I have also been to 3 STAR Days with my VentureRider jacket and not one person said anything about it. -

Hi Mike, You have shared your story with me about 307. I figured that was an isolated case but the way this is going it appears there are other STAR chapters with problems. -

I thought Yamaha riders were above the attitude that you must wear this or you can not ride. I am not saying if you are a H.O.G. member you show up wearing a STAR Club vest or if you are a STAR club member you show up wearing another clubs vest. I have one jacket, it has a VentureRider patch on it. VentureRiders is a Forum where we get together and ride and most of us own Ventures. We are not a club per say but a bunch of Yamaha owners that get together occasionally to ride and eat. He was so opposed to me wearing my jacket with my VentureRider patch on it to a STAR charity event he wanted me to wear one of his jackets which I refused. My motorcycle club clothing have patches and pins of all the organizations I belong to. I have never had any other club or organization I ride with have a problem with what I wear. I thought STAR was above that and I believe they are it is just the new President of one of our local chapter. The old President did not have a problem with it. -
I belong to a lot of motorcycle organizations. My jacket and vest have a mixture of all these organizations on them. I view these patches as a billboard showing what organizations I belong to or support. One of my STAR chapter President's has told me his position on patches is when we are on a chapter ride he does not want anyone to wear any patch other than STAR and chapter patches. My jacket I wear all the time has a VentureRider patch on the back. He does not think I should wear that where people can see it on a chapter ride. I think this is ridiculous. This reminds me of what we have been fighting as Yamaha riders when other clubs say you have to ride this type of motorcycle if you want to ride with us. STAR says you can ride anything you like. My President says you can ride any ride you like but when you are on a chapter ride you can not wear any other patch. Does this make any since to any of you?

head light goes out and comes back on
YamaDuck replied to rogerhessler's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
I do not have an HID kit. I installed my passing lights and I had to put a relay in it. I have done that on both of my bikes. So I assume that you have a relay somewhere. I put mine under the gas tanks but some people put them under the seat. I hope this helps. Harry -

That is true. I was blowing fuses however when the passing light switch when bad I did not blow a fuse just the lights would flicker. The wire that was soldered to the switch broke where it was soldered onto the switch. No short just a bad connection. -

I had a similar issue with my 06 Road Star and it was a short. The insulation wore through on a wire I had installed and was grounding out. Hope you find it. -
Thank you for the help. I have it fixed. It was poor eyesight on my part. I thought it was aligned correctly but I guess I did not. It works fine now. Thank each and every one of you. Harry
