Disappointed with the 2010 RSV
YamaDuck replied to Deacon's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
You know I've been hearing the rummer for a year now that Yamaha was coming out with a new Venture. I've been looking and waiting just like the rest of you. I don't want a new Venture I'm happy with the one I have but I can understand people wanting FI. Just put a splitter on the MP3/Ipod jack and you can close the tapedeck door and you will not even notice the tapedeck. Anyway I just want to know where the rummer started in the first place. Whoever started it must be laughing their head off at us right now. -
I'd be real careful inserting the key when you find it. Boy when you do insert the key I'll bet it will fly. Oh and the bikes nice also. 1978?

I'm still up in the air. If I do the ride I would like to do the GA route but that adds two hours to the trip. Even though it adds two hours to the route it still might be more fun but traveling that late at night on GA roads could be an occasional deer to dodge and if it's raining then that's two more hours in the rain. If I go I'm thinking of the 4 state route.

Hi Ted, I'm thinking about it. I have so many options that weekend it's not funny. And to top it off my daughters birthday is that Sunday the 27th. I don't know if we can ride as a group or if we have to do it individually. It would be great if we did it we could do it as a group so we could chear each other on. PM me later in the week so I can think about it. Harry:bang head:

Clearview Windshields
YamaDuck replied to YamaDuck's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Good one... but if I do email a VR.org member because I need assistance I bet as soon as they read the email they would reply and not just ignore it like Clearview. Email is just fine if you don't need immediate attention (which I didn't). If I needed an immediate answer I would have probably called. If you don't need an immediate answer then email is the best way to go IMHO because the company can answer at the time they deem best. I do like the Clearview windshield even with the imperfections I just don't like the company.- 26 replies

Clearview Windshields
YamaDuck replied to YamaDuck's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
No I didn't. I don't like to go through the process of transferring me from one person to another until I can find someone who will or can help me. Or listening to all the automated choices until I get to a real person. I could probably get an answer that way but I figure it would be a lot simpler just to shoot them an email. If they can't answer my emails then I will not call them. All they had to do was email me and tell me who to ask for and give them a call. I know I'm part of the problem and not the cure but I figure I don't need to make them happy, they need to keep me happy since I'm the customer.- 26 replies

Clearview Windshields

I actually settled on a black coozie. I cut it so it just covered the gas cap. I then glued a round Venturers patch on it and even though it didn't match my Venture it did reduce the glare. There still was a little glare from some of the colors on the patch but much better than without the coozie. The only problem is when I was on the cross country ride last month someone wanted it more than I did so now I'm blinded by the glare again. As for the Clearview my problem isn't with the distortion but my windshield has little dots or circles that look like someone took a cigarette and held it real close but did not touch the windshield. I do not think anyone did this because the little dots are different sizes. Not very noticable but they are there. The biggest problem I have with the Clearview windshield is their sorry customer service. I went to their website and emailed them twice and they never responded. That is why I will never buy anything from their company or say anything positive about them. Harry- 26 replies
