  1. Another 1st gen side stand fix bump. Gary
  2. Partshark.com has them. Gary
  3. Not a word from them this week. Sent couple of emails last week with no reply. They do not respond well quite often. I tried on last buy to pay them half up front and other half when they were ready to be shipped. They would not accept order with that term though. I will try a phone call Monday. Gary
  4. Some Ebay listings for 4 brush starters. Gary http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-Yamaha-Royal-Star-XVZ1300-Starter-Motor-1300-Tour-Deluxe-/110957282553?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19d591c4f9&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/97-Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-XVZ1300-STARTER-STARTING-MOTOR-/310655456399?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item485482148f&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-1300-STARTER-STARTING-MOTOR-/350144363143?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item51863afa87&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/00-Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-XVZ1300-STARTER-STARTING-MOTOR-/130760943260?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e71f5a69c&vxp=mtr
  5. Lower arms shown loose in pictures. Gary
  6. Brian, US shipping 5" - one 9" - one Gary
  7. What software are you using for circuit design ?? Gary
  8. Do a search on here for 'Sylvania', I think there is a silverstar recommended quite a bit. I think stock bulb is an H4, but verify that. Gary
  9. Last picture makes block replacement a good option. Cylinder liner is broke, which gets expensive to fix & machine block. Gary
  10. It is at three weeks now since I placed order & paid for them. Sent them an email Thursday, with no reply yet. They are difficult to deal with or rush. 1st time I did this, I sent them money, waited for a couple of weeks, then I could not contact them at all. I found out that in August, they shutdown and go on vacation for a week or two. I was panicking on that one. A VMax guy in Poland let me know about them. When they got back, I got TCI's. Last time I did this, they shipped them within a week. As soon as I get shipment notification I will let you know. They use DHL to ship so it doesn't take long. Customs clearance is only other obstacle. Usually, they go right through. Last time there was a day delay when they questioned classification of shipment. I have everything else for these. Gary

Last time I did this, they shipped them within a week. I have one guy that I have over a thousand dollars from. He is getting 2 standard TCI's & a fuel injection unit. As soon as I get shipment notification I will let you know. They use DHL to ship so it doesn't take long. Customs clearance is only other obstacle. Usually, they go right through. 12. The cam journals are fed by the metal 'Y' tube that bolts to the twinkie. The cams are drilled lengthwise to feed the other three journals from the ones the main feed intersects. If this rubber cap is not in place, the oil will seek the path of least resistance and exit the uncapped hole. This will cause the others in that head to not receive adequate pressure. Picture of valve cover shows a cross that presses against each one of these rubbers to keep them seated. The service manual has the oil flow diagrams in the appendices section. Gary
  13. Problem solved !!! Next ... Gary http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af193/gdingy101/outhouse_zps428177f7.jpg
  14. Is the FZ750 a quad piston caliper? I have a pair of 1996 YZF750 calipers for the RSV Hybrid I am working on that are six piston. Great brakes supposedly, but hard to find. Bike wasn't very popular in US. Gary
  15. All it is for is to remove static in radio & CB reception/transmission. You could remove it from bike and it will run just as well. There is a 2nd smaller capacitor on the MKII bikes in left fairing pocket area also. This one is closer to the radio and does same thing as the larger one. Gary
  16. I attached the documentation for the one I have. It is a little harder than a plug and play harness for the 1st gen bikes, not sure about 2nd gens. There are about half a dozen specific wires you need to locate and then tap into. The light sensor needs to be mounted in a somewhat specific orientation, downward towards road surface. All of this is in directions. I can help with schematics of bikes wiring harness on locating specific wires. The Diamond Star unit I have has a feature that allows it to be turned off if desired. If I am riding in a group and not in lead I will deactivate it so as not to be a distraction to riders ahead of me. It will reset to flashing mode when key is turned off, then restarted automatically. Or you can turn it back on manually at any time be quickly cycleing hi low switch. I am firmly convinced that this makes motorists see the bike and realize its there. I know there are riders among us that do not like them. It is an individuals choice. A comment I have heard often is that traffic will mistake it for an emergency vehicle & pull over. I am sure this is an annoyance when they see it is not an emergency vehicle. But in the 3 years I think I have had it, I have only seen one car pull over and I am not sure it wasn't for another reason. The saying that Loud Pipes Save Lives is a motto many bikers seem to live by. The modulator is far and away a better device to be noticed by traffic than loud pipes will ever be. Gary
  17. I do not agree with this statement. The output of a generator is RPM dependent. This is due to the flywheel magnets being other half of the generator system. The faster the magnets pass the coils the higher the output current. The maximum output current for a 1st gen MKII is above 4000 RPM. This is higher than the cruising RPM of 70 MPH. Gary
  18. If they cite you, then they are not aware of a federal law that supersedes state & local laws deeming modulators legal in all 50 states. Gary
  19. The best place for Steve to put the adapter is at the 13 pin connector, actually a 14 pin with a keying slot. If it is done after this point the complexity increases, along with the higher risk of an improper connection being made. It would take 6 connectors to do it farther downstream, as opposed to 2 connectors at this point. Also doing it downstream farther would require more dis-assembly of the bike to get at the other connectors, as they are under the trunk. The 13 pin can be accessed by removing the seat. The non CLASS equipped bikes are same location for connector, but only have 5 wires for the tail, brake & turn signals. Pictures of each versions wiring diagram attached. Gary
  20. Sorry for your loss Dan. Be strong for your family. Gary
  21. Send me the carbs, I will store them for you on the RSV. They will fit. I also looked for the enricher plunger you need, but I don't have an extra. Gary
  22. Since I made the final cut, put me down for two. For the record, Tweety is titled a Venture, not a VMax. Gary
  23. I think you have something else going on besides over torqued connectors. I have some extra (junk) parts lying around, so I took a few pictures of what I am seeing. 1st picture is looking across the slave cylinder & connecting points. It's not obvious in the picture, but the two connecting points protrude farther than the main body of the cylinder bore. 2nd picture is showing the connecting boss on the lower half of the block. There is a slightly raised face around the tapped hole for the lower connecting point, shown very center of picture. Half circle cut thru block above that and slightly right is the lower half of bore that clutch rod seal sets in. Around the seal bore, there is accumulated grime that build up over the years. This tells me that the face of the clutch slave was not pressed up tightly against block in this area. 3rd picture is where I had the slave positioned up against the block half. Last picture is of the upper connecting point on a different block. It appears to be machined flush with the block, hard to tell in picture though. What this suggests is that the two connecting points on the slave are designed to mate directly against the block with no air gap at connecting point interface. This then means that you could have torqued the connecting screws until it stripped the threads without cracking the connecting arms off, under normal circumstances. What may have allowed this to happen is that a pieces of debris was caught between the clutch slave body and the block, thus not allowing the slave to seat the way it was intended. With this possible offset, then the screw could snap the arm off. Just a few random thoughts. May have no basis in reality. Gary
  24. Going to a smaller bore on master will increase pressure and reduce volume. Volume won't be an issue, as the Venture MKI & Vmax rear calipers pistons are very close. PM me an address. Gary
  25. In 25 years that's 326 miles average per year. So its a fair guess that bike has sat unused for a long period of time. Gas will evapotate and residue can mess up carbs. Get in touch with MiCarl (user name) he can get you basic kits for carbs, has both jet block and enricher gaskets, fuel bowl molded gasket, 4 other O-rings and a float needle valve. Any VMax carb gasket kit (1985-2007) will work as well. Gary
