  1. Nice post, Vito! I'm going to do both of those upgrades. Thanks!
  2. I can hardly wait until I'm as old as you Lewis!!! Buddy!! I'm sorry, Charlene!
  3. Thanks for that link. I just popped for them as well. Hard to beat 10 bucks!
  4. Ahhhhh.... The Black Death.... How sorry I am that I missed that! Oh yeah, and seeing Jonas again!!!
  5. Sorry I missed it. Sheila is pretty good.
  6. Geeze! Why don't you guys just get a room! Seriously though, if you find a front tire that you like, you need to reverse the rotation. Front tires are made more for braking forces and rears are made for acceleration forces.
  7. I haven't done that but I have seen inside a broken mirror. (That mirror and some dash panels are hanging on the Tree Of Shame @ Deal's Gap!) As I recall, it would probably have to be glued in. I've wondered about doing that myself, but I wasn't sure where to get the glass the right shape, so I look forward to seeing what sort of responses come in on this.
  8. I'm also glad to hear your OK, Eck! Maybe you need to move to a 2nd gen John Deer, I hear they are slower!
  9. This is a good one, too, Eck. I haven't done a lot with it, but I don't think you have to pay for it. It's also an app for your phone. http://www.harley-davidson.com/content/h-d/en_US/home/owners/plan-your-ride/hd-ride-planner-overview.html
  10. That is cool! Check this out. http://www.duplicolor.com/products/customWrap/
  11. I also have to add my thanks to Randy for putting this together! It was great catching up with old friends and making new ones! (Has anyone ever said that before? ) It was strange tho', not having Muffinman and Mini there. Maybe next time. All in all, it was excellent as always!
  12. I could have sooooooooo much FUN with them!!! Wish I could be there with y'all! Sounds like a bunch of people I haven't seen for a while are going to be there.
  13. You could ask Swifty or me about that! When I first got my 86 I worried because I kept blowing past that 7500 red-line. I asked a mechanic buddy if he could put a rev limiter on it. He said "It has one." and showed me it hits at 10,000 (just like the VMax)! I was racing an HD one time and hit the limiter in 1st, hit the limiter in 2nd and when I shifted to 3rd I was doing one hundred and three! Oh yeah, and the Harley was just a speck in my mirror.
  14. Welcome to the site, you will love it! I grew up in Springfield with friends in Branson (when there was 1 road thru town!). I bought my 86 in 2004 with 46k on the clock and sold it last Sept with 186k! At the same time I bought an 88 with 37k on it so I can do it all over again. If you are at all handy with a wrench, and ask questions on this site, you can tackle almost any problem your 1st Gen can throw at you.
  15. I hope it was a great day for you, Minnie!!!

    Sad Day

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, Bob.
  17. Gen1 is a 83-93 Venture. . Mark I 83-85 . Mark II 86-86 Gen2 is a 99-13 Venture. . Uhhhhh..... No Differences. Same cassette player, even! Further Eclucidation! (That's what Bubba told me. He likes big words whether they are right or not!)
  18. I didn't have any problems, Eck! And I ate and/or drank where you did. Well, I added in Jack In The Box fried tacos on the way home! Of course, those will probably cure anything!!!

    Really!

    C S I Can't Stand Idiots!
  20. On a 1st gen it is possible to center the hi/lo switch and get both beams on. I do it regularly (on both my 86 and now my 88) and have never blown a fuse or burned anything up. Now with that being said, I doubt that I have ever run it that way for more than 10 minutes or so. But then I have the "Wisdon Of Bubba" on my side, and he told me to never let the smoke out of the wires!
  21. Fozzie has always been a Hero, a Sweetheart and ......... A Cry Baby!!! We love ya, Lewie!

    Yammer

I dunno......... Sure looks like who-ever that is, is trying to hide his identity behind a fullface helmet! But then, if I moved down to a 2nd gen, I'd probably wear a damn mask!!!
  23. I love my Michelin Commander IIs and just bought my second for the back, but they don't make one for the front (so I'm running a D404). I know that on the 2nd Gens, some run a different sized tire on the front. I like the Venoms too, a tire guy at the Barber race track once told me that it is the preferred rain tire on race tracks. That seems to speak volumes!
