  1. My manuals are all someplace in my storage unit! I need some torque specs for the 88. need to know front axle, front fork triple tree, rear axle and front brake bolts. Also, where does the front left brake line attach inside the fairing? And how do I get to it? Thanks for the help!
  2. Thanks guys, I'm gonna be on that this morning. I'll keep my laptop handy in case I run into more problems!
  3. I'm also glad my name wasn't on that list. Of course I'm only 18..With 42 years experience! I just know that of all the things that I have lost..........................It's my mind that I miss the most!
  4. I don't know for sure about the 83-85, but I imagine they are like the 86 and up. I didn't think I had one on my 86 either and asked a mech friend if he could install one. He asked what year it was and I said 86. He said "It has one" and I said" no it doesn't because I keep blowing past the 7500 red line!" He started it, opened the throttle all the way and it hit the rev limiter at 10,000 rpm! (Just like the V-Max) He said "I wouldn't go there too often, but it's there if you need it." I only used it once, racing a Road Glide. Went to the limiter in fist, went to the limiter in second and looked down as I shifted to third. I was doing 103mph!!!
  5. I am trying to remove the forks from my "old 86" and move them to my "new 88". I've got every thing loose but am having the same problem with the air connection. I didn't see the C clip. Where is it and what is the best way to get it off? I'm starting with the 86 so I can still ride until I'm ready for the swap. (Also so that I will have an "Alabama Blueprint") [sorry Eck!]
  6. I guess we shouldn't let them ride with motorcycle groups either! At least not NYC cops.
  7. Are we going to sign Squidley's seat?!? There's a lot of acreage there to fill in!
  8. Prayers going out for both of you, Randy! A friend of mine had heart burn early one Sunday morning that wouldn't go away so he drove to the hospital "feeling like an idiot". They put in three stints! He was out Tuesday morning! Hope your' contusion feels better soon. Todd
  9. Bubba is always lookin' for something to sink his teeth into since he got the new dental plan! He thinks ObamaCare is gonna be almost as good!!
  10. Did it come home by itself, Dan? Wow that's impressive! Sent from my LG-LS970 using Tapatalk 2
  11. Hey Gill you can see what you missed! Hope you got something on your hunting trip. It was great meeting you. And thanks for that start switch thing!! Sent from my LG-LS970 using Tapatalk 2
  12. Any time with the rest of the pics there Angel.
  13. I bought the '88. Hooked up with Angel and Lori yesterday and dd an oil change and some other stuff to the bike, Buckshot came over and helped. Had a problem with the headlight being intermittent; pulled it out and checked all the wires, fuses and connectors with no luck! Then BS (Buckshot) tried the starter switch. It was sticking, a little PB Blaster and all is well. Only problem is that when I hit 4500 rpm, it's like I hit a wall and it just stalls out. We cleaned and oiled the air cleaner and tuned the carbs. Maybe just needs to run down the highway for 750 miles. Went to Tony Packo's for lunch. AWESOME! I know, I know! :worthless: I now turn you over to my Video expert: Brown Angel!
  14. I quit riding for the winter on December 31 and don't start riding again until January 1st!
  15. You got it Bob. Didn't Klinger order ribs from that place? Sounds like a good place for a MeetNEat! Anyway, I'm sitting in beautiful downtown Cincinnati with an hour wait for my next bus. didn't know about this layover. Literally just out on the sidewalk in Cincinnati!
  16. On the comode again, gee it's great to be on the comode again! I'm on.the bus to get me to the MegaBus! Holy Toledo, here I come.
  17. I would say 3 hours would be a minimum if you really want to see things. It's not quite as expansive as Barber, but Dale has a lot of stuff that will take you time to process!

As I understand it, you can use your gas receipts to prove it. A friend of mine did it and kept all his receipts. He had a cop sign off at the start and finish of his ride. The only problem was that when he checked his receipts, he had used his debit card for some and his brothers debit card for others so they had two different names on them! He decided it didn't really matter. This is a guy that went to SC to have a custom map made for the injection on his Aprilla, They said come back when you have a few thousand miles on it. He was back the next week because in the interim he had ridden Thursday from Atlanta to Wichita to join me at a bluegrass festival, then Saturday to Birmingham for a mc race and Sunday back to Atlanta. And all of this on a sportbike!!!
  19. Go Figure!?! When I am finaly off on a Saturday (vaca this week) and could ride to St. Judes with you, I have to go to Ohio to pick up a brand-used bike! Why don't y'all swing thru' Toledo on your way home and join up with me?
  20. Just talked to the seller and the deal is on. He is a little nervous about someone from out of town screwing him somehow and I can't blame him. I told him that I don't want to carry that much cash on the bus and said that I'd go with him to a Bank of America and get him cash so he doesn't have to worry about funky MOs or Cashiers Checks. Guess I better go get packed. So it looks like there's going to be a M&E this weekend! REER
  21. My dad was an Episcopal priest and he always said that if he had a sailboat he would have to name it: Sailbad The Sinner!
