Bubba told me that a friend of his got a Venture for his wife.......Said it was the best trade he ever made! :rotf: Hang in there buddy; and there are some great VR members in and around Greenville. Not to mention, that is one of the closest Jack-In-The-Box restaurants to Atlanta!! mmmmm Fried Tacos! Let me know when you get settled and I'll ride up and buy you a few.

That is a little worrisome, but Angel doesn't know me so I guess I'm safe! Maybe I can get out of town before he starts to like me! I did talk to him this morning. I've left a couple voice mails and a text for the guy with the bike, but haven't heard from him in a few days. He is around Airport Hwy and 475, as is the bus station I will come into. If it all works out I'd like to do a mete and eat Saturday. There has to be someplace good to eat around Toledo! Maybe some good German food.

I'm planning to buy a bike in Toledo this week. I plan on taking Megabus from Atlanta, through Cleveland, it arrives in Toledo at 10:30 a.m.. I'm not sure if I'll try to get there Friday morning or Saturday morning. But I may need someone to point me in the direction of a member I can stay with, or at least cheap lodging, and some place to change my oil. Maybe we can put together a small meat n eat Saturday. I need to get out by Sunday at the latest. Any help will be greatly appreciated. My number is in my profile. I look forward meeting some Toledo people!

Very nice! But I still have the same question that I had for the dealer 3 years ago when they wanted 30 grand for the thing. Why are there passenger pegs on a solo bike?? If you look at picture nine you can see them. I mean c'mon, stick a couple of chrome bolts in there and give the new owner the set of pegs if he wants 'em! OK..OK, I know it's not quite as bad as a cassette deck on on 21st century motorcycle.

It was great hanging with you and Annie again! Bubba said to tell y'all to "have a safe trip back to that upside down land!". I don't think he'll ever really understand how that works! Tell Annie hi for both of us and be safe. (No Bubba..I din't say get Annie high!) Jeez

Bubba told me he would trade her his boat and not only will he throw in the oars, but he will inflate it for her! He said it has a head too; you just hang it over the side. He said he'll throw in a tent also, that way you can sleep in it like he does. You just have be careful with the tent stakes! (He learned that the hard way!)

When my shock went, I got one "brand-used" from Rick Butler. After we got mine out, my friend that was helping me said "Look, the sticker on it says Do Not Disassemble". I said "you know what that means!" Yeah, we tried to take it apart. We cut the spring off, but couldn't get much further than that. And my buddy has a pretty complete metal shop. With my shock, it would take air and hold pressure, but would not lift the bike at all. I figure it has a rubber bladder in it that blew out so the air just filled the void.

I don't know about the Ultras, but the cylinder heads on the RoadGlide are water cooled!

All I can say Brad, I was usually looking at Swifty in my mirror; But it was rarely easy to keep him there!!! Swifty, I think I caught you a couple times and you didn't let off the throttle... Enjoyed the miles (and conversations), we shared every time our roads crossed. I don't know, Eck, it sure looks like the brownie was in front in those pictures....even though you were stopped.

That bull rides kinda like Eck! Just hope there aren't any UPS trucks around!

Rear tires are designed for acceleration forces and front tires are designed for stopping forces (as I understand it!); that is why they are directional and should be reversed.

Gonna miss you buddy! Whatever you get into next, and I know it will have to be fast, I hope you'll head back down south for some "real" biscuits-and-gravy! Sincerely, The Real Fast Guy

OK Bobbie, I'll go around again. I've been watching this page and we need a few more folks to anti up a second time! C'mon everybody, you've gotten another pay check since last time!!! I'm glad this got bumped back up. So, have you decided what ink you're going to get?

Hey Barry, don't be too quick to turn down that meal if Konnie is cooking. Just let Eck buy the beer, he's pretty good at that!

I have toooooo much experience fixing plastic on my 86. I use Devcon Plastic Welder, which is a two part epoxy in a self mixing tube. It;s good stuff and used to be about 2 bucks at WallyWorld. They don.t carry it any more but it is available at AutoZone for about $5. I lay fiberglass mesh into it also. I have also heard (and am about to try) ABS ground up and mixed with acetone to repair the plastic. It is essentially new ABS, from what I hear. I've also heard that you can mix it up in a mason jar and keep it molten as long as you keep it sealed when not in use. Good Luck

My u-joint went, but fortunately, held together enough to get home! MamaYama wants BIG money for the "cross" pre-loaded in the yoke. If the yoke isn't torn up you don't need the whole thing, if it is you can probably find someone here with a spare. You can match the u-joint for less than $25, but it is a little loose. A friend of mine has a lathe so we widened the groove and put in two e-clips. That was over 60k miles ago and it's still pulling strong. Oh, be carefull if you pull the cap off the cross.....those little roller bearing can be a ***** to find! I'm just guessing, of course.
