  1. There was some weirdo there that looked a lot like YOU.
  2. I expected someone to have started a post about last weeks Ashville Rally. Had a great time, enjoyed seeing old friends great scenery and some pretty serious twisties. Thanks to everyone for making this such a great event.
  3. Glad to hear ya got yer "Baby" back.
  4. No matter which side of the aisle you're on, this attempt on his life is not ok. You can chalk it up to luck, but you can't get much closer to being whacked then this. I think the Good Lord must have intervened. And for the record, I'd be just (or maybe almost) as upset if this happened to Joe Biden.
  5. Sad news, but the sadness is for those who knew and loved him. May the Good Lord assuage their grief. He's doing just fine now. Rest in Peace Dan.
  6. GOD BLESS our HVAC Tech's, out there werkin' hard to keep us cool !!!
  7. PM me an address.
  8. Made it home safe and sound. Thanks to Ron for setting this up. Had a great time, as I always do when with my VR friends. Already looking forward to seeing y'all again. Here's a few more pics.
  9. Tryin' to add pics, but that internet thing is really slow here. Might have to wait 'till I get back to civilization.
  10. Just showed up....missed dinner with my VR friends. Just spoke with Ron, looking forward to the ride tomorrow. Now for a beer and a cigar to wind down from the drive.
  11. Will be leaving tomorrow around noon, which should put us there around dinnertime.
  12. I have one I replaced years ago. The replacement really didn't fix the issue. After playing a bit, it'd start cutting out. I figured it was the ? rheostat ? knob for the volume control. I replaced the controller as well as the radio unit itself. It may be better, but still an issue. What issue are you having?
  13. All the COOL kids will be there.
  14. Decided not to drive the motorhome, but have reserved a room at the Early American Motel. Will be arriving Thursday afternoon and leaving Sunday morning. SO....When we get there and get settled in, how / where / when do we meet up with the group?
  15. Well, I've been at the new outfit for 3 weeks now, and all in all things have been going well. STELLAR company, although my buddy who pulled me in, (was my apprentice 25 years ago) is my lead and he's a ramrod. Run, run, run. Day goes quick though. I think it'll work out. Interesting day though.....Rolling down the highway at about 65mph some fella crossed lanes behind me at a much greater speed and rammed the back of my new van. Don't have 1000 miles on it yet. I called 911 but since no one was hurt they wouldn't dispatch an officer. I was told to exchange info. I did get the guys info, ....suspended license, no insurance, got some pics and he took off. I think he was high, (red eyes).... His little Chrysler was pretty damaged. Hood popped up windshield broken, airbags deployed. Can't believe he drove it away. I think he wanted to get out of there before any cops happened by. Funny thing is that the only damage I found to my new van was a couple of scratches on the top of the bumper cover. I think the trailer hitch took the brunt of it. It felt like a hard hit. Got to take the van in tomorrow morning for an inspection, but I'm very lucky that it wasn't much worse. He's lucky that he didn't hit a smaller vehicle....could have killed someone.
  16. Heck, there's someone down here in C-Bus selling 2 Ventures for $180 each. Vintage Yamaha Venture Touring Bikes obo - motorcycle parts - by owner - vehicle automotive bike sale - craigslist
  17. I don't see an issue with welding it, but I'd think there's a pretty good chance someone on this site will have a muffler they could part with. I'd wait and see before going through the PITA of trying to weld a rusted muffler.
  18. It's probably be a good idea to keep a set of replacement points with the tool kit on the bike. Where might one purchase them?
  19. My old trailer is looking sad, so I figured I'd replace the fenders, remove the rust and give it a coat of paint. I happened to be perusing Craigslist and found a heavy duty trailer that was used to haul a trencher, smaller, but 10 ply tires, so it sits lower,... 2500 lb axle. It needed all the brackets that secured the trencher removed and a coat of paint. Wasn't really rusted, but would be soon without new paint. Spent the last day and a half doing just that, plus I welded a couple of new tie down points on it, then mounted a wheel chock I had in the garage. I'll still want to make sure the wheel bearings are properly greased, but that should be it. It's a little narrower and longer than my old trailer., (4x9) old one was (5x8). Should be a great trailer, dedicated to towing the bike. I'll still spiffy up the old trailer, but I'm diggin' this one much better for hauling Black Cherry. At $650.oo I think I'm well bought.
  20. Well, she's finally broke in....
  21. Looking at where gas prices are headed, I may try to get a room rather than drive the motorhome. Will noodle on it.
  22. Well, let's hope you have a GREAT retirement....If ya get my meaning....
  23. They didn't actually promise anything. The primary issue is lack of work where I am. I know several of the guys at the place I'm going to and they all seem pretty happy there, plus they're pretty pleased that I'll be joining them. I'll be coming on board as a senior tech, which means I'll be doing more of the sort of work that will fit my experience and skill set, rather than jumping around on rooftops like I'm still 25 years old. I'll be doing more direction / supervision, kind of like a working foreman. They're taking me on, matching the benefits and pay above union scale that I've worked so hard to get where I am now. That's pretty rare, so I don't think they're expecting me to be a grunt. I've only 4 years to go until retirement and they know that and are still willing to take me on. I'm not comfortable with change, but I really should have done this years ago. They first offered me this spot in 2019, but I opted to stay loyal to the company I've been with for so long, but, like I said, I gotta work or I'll have to start contributing to my health benefits and my pension would suffer without full time hours. It's a necessary move. Even the people I'm close to in management with my current company are aware that I'm leaving and say I'm probably doing the right thing. They even floated the idea of paying me 40 hrs a week, working or not to keep me, but i declined That could only last for so long. I'm sure I'm doing the right thing. I hope....lol... Only 4 years to go....
  24. After 26 years working for the same company, it's time to move on. Things have been dicey for the last few years, but at this point they can no longer offer reliable year 'round work. I was hoping to retire here, but the bottom line is I gotta work. SO I"ve accepted a positiion with another outfit; they're matching my benefits plus a little bump in pay scale.. Sad to go but it's necessary. I'm starting to get a little excited about it though as my duties will be a little different, in a good way. Wish me luck.
  25. I keep thinking I'd like to do a Micro Rally up at the cabin in North Central PA but life keeps getting in the way. I'll be retiring in 4 years and moving closer up towards the cabin and will try to get it done then. Great area for riding, but the cabin and property won't allow for a bigger event.
