  1. Barnett instructions do say to soak friction disc 1 to 3 minutes in clean oil. Just put a set of carbon fiber discs in my 08,
  2. and here i am with a battery that is almost 7 years old, was new when i got the 83, never had a tender on it, only thing it was some sort of "maintenance free", the 08's battery let go after 5 years, has AGM now about a year old, hope it lasts at least as long.
  3. if you can find a 165/80/15 tire, it also will fit, have a local shop that will sell me one for around 60
  4. bike is parked, clutch parts ordered, riding old ugly till repaired, haven't had the fuel problem recur, watching it close
  5. i had tried to start it through the winter, wouldn't start, when i tried to start it this spring, i saw the fuel gauge showed empty, looked at oil sight glass, showed over full. drained over 6 gallons from crankcase. refilled with castrol, after a few rides this spring it feels like the clutch slips, assuming that the clutch facing is coming apart.
  6. What do you believe would be the result of the clutch plates sitting in gas for a couple months?
  7. Looks affordable! https://www.helmetcustoms.com/

    Finally!

the high pressure to seat the bead is common, as the 3 I have ran, first one I almost gave up on then used rachet strap @ 90, second i got to seat @45 with some very slickery lube, the last one a local shop did it for me and was over 100 psi. love the way they handle, nexen, classic and kuhmo are what i have ran, will try goodrich next summer.
  10. Looks good Kevin! Now we just get it out here to see it up close! Daryl
  11. I have both, an 83 first gen, and a 08 2nd gen, love just taking the 83 and messing with the crotch rockets around here, have run 90 mph for a tank full, the 2nd gen is a dream for all day riding with the wife on back, many days of 700+ miles. Still love the 83 for the twisties!

  16. my pump died last summer, replaced with an aftermarket pump, took about an hour time and $50 parts, pump and filter included, had a few times the bike just quit going down the hiway before it completely died, haven't had a problem since
  17. ordered set, will test out how loud they are and may put one on the 08 and one on the 83!
  18. do they just bolt on?
  19. I have been using a 90/110 for at least 4 years, no problem with wiring, but i carry an extra along because they seem to burn out quickly.
  20. I am planning to be up there this year, told the boss since she got all that leather in Black Hills, I was going to PIP, and she can't get the weekend off,
  21. Have been using a kuhmo on mine for 2 years, yes you still can scrape the pegs. I have been running max air pressure in it to bow it a bit. 08 2nd gen.
  22. Plenty of room for tents?
  23. Most definitely would buy another RSV, after talking with co worker that just bought a used 09 ultra classic for 18k, and you don't see another venture every time you turn around, I like that!
  24. Therapy worked well. Wife hates naming vehicles.
  25. In the early days of CD ROM, had a customer ask about the fancy cup holder in his computer! Laughed all the way to his house. Found he had broke the tray when he turned and hit it with his coffee cup in it, spilled coffee into his keyboard, shorted out motherboard. What a mess.
