I put the carbon fiber plates in my 08 RSV, along with the Barnett pressure plate, did not want to go back in again in a few years, really didn't feel any difference in how hard the clutch lever pulled in or in the shift quality. Just know that the hookup hard and fast.

my training was that the o-ring pulls the piston back when released, nothing anywhere else to "release pressure"other than releasing brake lever.

At one time I and my 2 brothers had 13 of the '55, '56, and '57 chev's on our yard, one of the 55's was set on a international dually frame, but the car I wish I still had was a '62 Ford Fairlane 500, little 221 cid v8, 3 on the tree, also had a 60 Pontiac Bonneville convertible, dropped the top in feb, and drove around town while it snowed, lots of strange looks. Currently have a 86 Dodge Daytona Pacifica turbo sitting in the garage as a stalled project. GTO, Grand Prix, Mustangs all had homes at our place at different times. Had way too many cars to even remember them all, worked as an automechanic, so I changed cars quite often, not always to the better.

Barnett instructions do say to soak friction disc 1 to 3 minutes in clean oil. Just put a set of carbon fiber discs in my 08,

and here i am with a battery that is almost 7 years old, was new when i got the 83, never had a tender on it, only thing it was some sort of "maintenance free", the 08's battery let go after 5 years, has AGM now about a year old, hope it lasts at least as long.
