  1. Are we going to have this discussion every few weeks? I hope not. It has been cussed, discussed, polled, voted on....etc. etc. etc. Yes, there is some religion here. It was never said that there couldn't be. We are talking about people who believe in the power of prayer requesting such prayers in times of need. That is allowed. That is NOT the same as religious debate which is NOT allowed.
  2. Yea, I never ran the CarFax again so don't know if it ever showed a problem or not. If the previous owner just had it cleaned up and traded it and did not file a claim, it wouldn't show up. CarFax is good I think but not fail proof.
  3. Just to clarify, I'm really not looking for recommendations, I've already traded her car. Just haven't revealed what she got yet. I'm just curious about what the rest of you drive. We have been married 15 years and she has had a wide variety of different types during those years. Ford Taurus, Mitsubishi Diamante, Honda Prelude, Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4, Monte Carlo SS, and her latest was a 2004 Kia Sorento 4X4. Her favorite was the one that we just traded, the Kia Sorento. She LOVED that thing. We had no problems at all with it but I bought it slightly used with 12,000 miles on it. I thought I checked it out very well and the CarFax showed no issues either but shortly after buying it, I found evidence that led me to believe that it had been under water. I found residue that appeared to be a mix of sand and salt in places high up such as the steering column, inside door panels, etc. Never had any problems during the 4 years that we owned it but I could see the flood damage starting to take it's toll and knew that it was time to trade it off. My car is a 2007 Dodge Caravan. Not my choice as I really am not a van person but it's a company car and they bring me a new one every 120,000 miles. Since I don't pay for it, I can't complain and I've never had any problems with the Caravans.
  4. I don't think I've ever seen this question asked. I'm curious because it was time to replace Eileen's car and we looked at a lot of vehicles trying to decide what to buy this time. I pretty much left it up to her but it got me wondering what the rest of you here drive. So....what are you driving and are you happy with it?
  5. Yes, and the "quote" doesn't count but I think you know that.
  6. They are no longer made. Your only hope is to find a used one somewhere.
  7. This is just not true and we've been through it here several times. I looked up all the data on Mobil 1 at one time but am not going to take the time to do it again. Mobil 1 IS a true synthetic though.
  8. I don't think your dues are due yet but you can pay them whenever you want. I think that most start expiring sometime in April. Anyway, if you to renew via credit card or PayPal, just go to your UserCP and scroll down to paid subscriptions.
  9. Thanks for the report. I think I have it fixed now. Please let me know.
  10. It sure sounds like something is dominating your memory. It could indeed be some type of key logger but something seems to be really using your memory.
  11. That has happened to several people. It even happened to me when I updated mine to the 2010 maps. I ended up deleting all the voices except for three that I occasionally use and also some songs that I had accidentally stored on internal memory instead of the SD chip that I had intended to. After that, the maps fit on the unit.
  12. Jonas, I know Rod at Pinwall. Have done business with him and have met with him a couple of times in person. Let me know if I can help in any way. I would be happy to give him a call for you. Don
  13. I just did a search but it seems that his website is no longer good either.
  14. Here is one thread that explains it fairly well but probably won't help much because it really reaches no conclusion on the number of turns. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32906&highlight=analyzer
  15. I would bet that the 100 is peak and most likely over stated as many units are. Plus, it would only be putting that out at max volume I think.
  16. I think it is probably because there really is no standard. It would really require and exhaust gas analyzer to adjust them properly. I do think that 2 1/2 is a good starting point though. I think that 2 1/4 was sort of a standard but they would all vary.
  17. In my opinion, you would absolutely need the rear brackets.
  18. I received the following notification from the host of our chat rooms. We are planning to switch your chat host DNS(host8/host718) tomorrow. The whole process has been scheduled as described below: SCHEDULE DNS switch Time(CST):11:00 pm, 11th, Jan.,2010 PURPOSE Due to the instability of servers from the current ISP, we have decided to change our ISP to enhance the chat performance. IMPACT to you It usually takes up to 24 hours before all the DNS servers worldwide take effect and during this period, some of your chatters may resolve to our old server and some may use the new one.So there may exist some communication problems during this time.
  19. I'll be looking forward to the Black Death. Only got a single little sip the last time. I won't let THAT happen again. You know that whether you come alone or with your wife, you always have a room here at our house.
  20. Was very excited to hear from Jonas last night. He called to see how everybody was doing and it was a nice surprise to hear from him. He is still working in Norway and putting in a LOT of hours...way too many but says that with the economic conditions in Iceland, he is happy to have a job. He won't make it back over this year but plans to visit again in 2011. I hope it happens, he is a true gentleman and it would be great to see him again.
  21. Rick, I'm glad that nobody was hurt but it must have been a scary experience for you and your passenger. What a way to get woke up. I was thinking about you yesterday, wondering if you had headed home yet and if you were going to come by. I guess this answers the question. I'm really sorry that it wasn't worse than it is.
  22. Sunman, your explanation about the name is dead on. I hadn't thought of it that way. Good job.
  23. Here is one that I posted in another thread a few days ago. You folks don't know what cold is. We were at the deer camp one night and it was cold and very windy. We had a good camp fire going and were all standing around the fire waiting on the coffee to get finished perking. I saw my buddy Mike rolling something around with his foot. Wasn't sure what it was. Looked like a Walnut or something but there were no Walnut trees around the campsite. I finally saw him kick whatever it was into the fire and then a few moments later, there was a loud POP and then a terrible stink. Turned out to be a FROZEN FART. It was so cold that they were freezing as they came out, rolling down his pants leg and then onto the ground. We had all eaten beans for dinner...that was one heck of an evening.
  24. That's a good price but if it is the 0-300 psi, I really don't like that wide a range. All you need for our bikes is the 0-60 as it will cover the entire range of our shocks and I think would be more accurate at the lower end needed for the front forks.
  25. I seldom go to my Facebook account. If I get an email that somebody that I know wants to be added, I'll click on it and approve them but that's about it. The first one linked above was not started by me but was started somewhat as our unofficial Facebook account I think. I would be glad for whoever started it to re-name it as VentureRiders if they so choose to do so.
