  1. Yea, but that 10.00 a quart oil that's in it has less than 500 miles on it.
  2. I just want to know how I ended up getting blamed for this. Just what I need, a wife mad at me. I have one of my own that I have no problem making mad.
  3. That is so close to me that I thought about bidding. I tell you though, there just isn't much there that's not damaged. Sad indeed.
  4. Very well done indeed. You done good my friend.
  5. There are two nuts to remove the seat. At the very front. One on the left and one on the right. Then it just slides forward and out of the tab on the rear. Battery is almost new. I replaced it Maintenance Day this year. Don't remember the brand but it is a glass mat type from Advanced Auto. Other thing to know. It has the speedo healer on it so the speedometer does read correctly. It also has the mic mutes so quickly toggling the "push to talk" switch turns the microphone on and off to reduce wind noise.
  6. I buy the oil at Advanced Auto. I generally get the filter there too and use the Purolator PL14610. Have also used the Walmart ST7317 but I don't know if they still make it.
  7. Just got an email that my Saddle Sore 1000 has been certified. Now I just have to get the paperwork in for the bunburner 1500. Dear Donald Nelson: You are receiving this e-mail because of your application for a ride certification. This note is to let you know that your ride has been approved and although your ride documents may take a few more weeks to arrive, your membership has also been approved and entered into the Iron Butt Association's member database. Welcome to the Iron Butt Association!
  8. I'm actually probably going to do that. Just got to get the passports renewed first.
  9. Can I bring my tent?
  10. The links in the tech library for the manuals is working again.
  11. They look good. I hope you checked the brackets very closely. They are known to crack at the top and fall off. Many have lost them because of that issue. I almost think it's a matter of WHEN it will happen...not IF it will happen. That is why I really recommend the Diamond R stainless brackets.
  12. A few years ago, I an order for a stand and didn't have any made up. I took mine off and shipped it to the buyer. I always planned to make some more but never did. So...........now you know the "rest of the story".
  13. Dan, you don't need to worry about air PERIOD. It has a YSS rear shock that does not use air. It has Sonic Springs in the front that also don't really need air. Just ride and enjoy. Also, all the major maintenance is done. Steering head bearings have been repacked. Valves have been adjusted. Carbs have been removed and floats properly set. There is a white cord on the left handlebar to plug the Ipod, MP3, whatever into that will play when the radio is set on auxiliary. Rear end oil was recently changed with Mobil synthetic. Engine has, and has always had, Mobil 1 Racing 4T. Current oil has about 100 miles on it. The only think you might want to do is check the air pressure in the tires. Just go for a ride already.
  14. SkyDoc sent me this and I thought it was pretty interesting. Not real practical I don't think but maybe worth it for a small engine that you need to store through the winter with gas in it. I still think a can of Stabil or Seafoam is easier though. http://goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14679
  15. hmmmmmm.....some secrets are just hard to keep.
  16. They are hosted on the server of a member who isn't very active any longer. I'll see what I can do.
  17. OK folks, the bike is resting comfortably at it's new home. Does anybody recognize this place.
  18. Those are Firestik antennas. The antennas on the '99 models were junk. Yamaha changed to a different design after the first year. These work very well though and are easy to tune.
  19. Here in a few minutes, the RSV will be heading for its new home. It is a bittersweet day because I love the bike and will miss it so it is a sad day for me. It is a GREAT day though in that I know it is going to a good home and is going to make somebody very happy. He knows all about VentureRider.org and will be checking in soon I'm sure.
  20. Well I got the boat home yesterday. Took it out on a small lake with the dealer rep and everything worked perfectly. Got it home and got the new Lowrance 7HDI depth finder installed. It's a combination GPS, Chart Plotter, Sonar and Down Imaging unit with a 7" screen really nice unit. As we were looking through the boat, we came upon a full camper top that we didn't even know was included. It was in packages and looks like it had never been opened. Don't know how much we will use it but it was a nice bonus. So today we will take it to Lake Erie. May even stay on it overnight, we'll see. Eileen says that we are going to and I've found that she often gets her way.
  21. Well today is the day. We pick the boat up this afternoon. Taking it out on a local lake with the dealer and then load it up and bring it home. Got to install the depth finder when I get it home and then off to Lake Erie either late this afternoon or tomorrow morning. After I gas it up. I have a feeling that the dealer is not going to top off the tank. I don't know for sure but it's either 75 or 100 gallons. OUCH!
  22. As most of you know, we have something called the SAF Fund. Those funds are used to send flowers to members families when needed, putting up the deposit money and etc. for our international rallies, various other causes. Black Owl has done a fantastic job managing that fund and we all owe him a big round of applause for doing so. I would ask that the $5.00 "dropped bike fine" be sent directly to Black Owl to be added to that fund. I will ask that he respond to this thread and let you know how it should be sent. Thanks Much
  23. I've eaten there a couple of times and enjoyed it. If you ever watched Mash, that was the place that Klinger was always talking about. It's worth trying.
  24. OK Brian, ask and ye shall receive. I have added the "My Posts" feature towards the right side of the lower menu bar at the top. Right beside the "Log Out" button. The color options can be done also but please give me a few days on that one to get them designed.
